As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Outline of the Administrator/Secretary role

Being an excellent timekeeper and an organised individual, your administration skills will be vital to support the smooth running of the local Management Team. By recording actions agreed at meetings, and supporting the Team Leader, Management Team and Coordinator with administrative support, this role ensures that the group functions at its best and works in the most efficient and effective way to help adults learn to read in your community.

How we will support you

You will be provided with the Management Team Handbook, training/induction, policies and guidance specifically needed for this role, including access to support from a Read Easy UK Regional Adviser, via your Team Leader. You will also be invited to Read Easy UK’s regional forums and annual conference which give volunteers an opportunity for networking with those from other groups.

What you will be doing

● Arranging Team meetings with the Team Leader and distributing agendas

● Recording actions agreed at the team meeting and distributing notes on required actions

● Submitting Coach and Reader Finisher questions responses to REUK

● When required, supporting the Coordinator with printing and copying

● Supporting with general administration for your group

● Attending regular Management Team meetings, typically every 6-8 weeks

ROLDA UK is a registerd charity that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes stray dogs and cats in both Romania and the Ukraine.

As a Champion for ROLDA, you will play a crucial role in driving our online and in-person fundraising efforts. This position is ideal for a passionate individual dedicated to animal welfare who wants to help make a tangible difference towards our rescue efforts. In tandem with the ROLDA team, you will lead initiatives, develop strategies, and inspire supporters to contribute to ROLDA’s mission, amplifying our impact.

Key Responsibilities:
● Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with ROLDA’s leadership to create and implement innovative online         and in-person fundraising campaigns.
● Campaign Management: Coordinate and execute engaging, high-impact fundraising campaigns, such as peer-to-peer       fundraisers, social media drives, and seasonal events.
● Event Leadership: Organise and attend fundraising events, representing ROLDA in the community. Recruit and manage     a team of event volunteers when necessary.
● Donor Engagement: Foster relationships with existing and potential donors, recognise and thank contributors, and               cultivate new support channels.
● Social Media Outreach: Collaborate with the social media team to create content that promotes fundraising efforts and       highlights donor stories and campaign updates.
● Reporting and Goal Setting: Set and track fundraising goals, prepare reports to measure progress, and share                     outcomes with the team to enhance future initiatives.

Requirements:
● Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or community engagement (experience in nonprofit organisations is a plus)
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect with a diverse audience
● Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple projects and deadlines
● Availability to attend periodic in-person events
● Passionate about animal welfare and committed to ROLDA’s mission

CAFOD Advisor

Strategy Performance Committee (SPC)

Role

Committee member, providing expert fundraising input to this Committee of the Board, alongside Trustees and other advisors. The SPC exercises governance activities on behalf of the Board and provides recommendations to the Board on such governance matters. The remit of the SPC encompasses CAFOD’s programmatic work, covering both CAFOD’s international activities and the work within the Catholic Community in England and Wales.

Person

• Total alignment with goals, ethos and culture of CAFOD, including its Catholic values
• Experience working within the charity sector with knowledge of multiple income streams
• Knowledge of fundraising for international causes would be advantageous
• Experience in multiple income portfolio management, particularly fundraising from the public

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

The wellbeing of our people is important and at Cats Protection we are committed to safeguarding children, adults at risk and all those that we come into contact with as part of our activities.

We are a small, friendly, place-based funder seeking up to 3 new volunteer Trustees to take us into the next decade.

Opportunity – Volunteer Trustee (we have 10 currently)

About Us

Wakefield Tetley Trust is a long-established grant-maker working in Tower Hamlets, Southwark and the City of London since 2008 as a joint entity, originally created in the 1930’s as two separate charities. We support people in need by funding local charities and community groups who work with individuals and communities who are marginalised or disadvantaged, for example because they have difficulty in accessing resources, face discrimination or may experience poorer social, economic and health outcomes. In 2024 the Trust made grants of £213,152 towards work in support of our aims.

We are looking for up to 3 community-minded individuals who might live or work in our area of benefit. You will be keen to engage in high quality grant-making through informed understanding of the needs and challenges facing the charities and communities that we support.  We always need to add to our professional skill base so if you have experience relating to governance, finance, property, strategic and operational management, that is equally welcome. You’ll play a key part in developing our future plans and, as we are looking to incorporate in the next 12 months, you will play a part in achieving that and other changes.

Being available, engaged and a sounding board for staff and other Trustees is just as important as attending 4 mandatory meetings each year. Citizens Advice Lewisham (CAL) delivers free, impartial and confidential advice to those who live, work or study in the London borough of Lewisham. We are looking for a new Trustee with senior charity leadership experience to join our committed Board. 

What you will do

·  Bring senior‑level charity insight to Board discussions on strategy, governance, risk and organisational effectiveness.

· Participate in Board meetings (one evening a quarter in Lewisham and/or online) and, where possible, contribute to a committee or time‑limited project.

· Essential: Senior leadership experience within a charity (for example Chief Executive or Executive Director, Director, Head of Service or equivalent).

· Strong governance awareness and confidence interpreting and working with performance and risk information.

Military Wives Choirs is looking for a Governance Trustee who is passionate about what we do and who has the relevant skills, energy and acumen to work as part of the Board overseeing the work of the charity, ensuring it is financially stable, well-run and fulfilling its charitable obligations.  

We are a small but ambitious charity looking to further our reach and impact across the military community both in the UK and internationally. Formed in 2012, we already connect a diverse group of over 1600 women across 71 choirs in the UK and on British military bases overseas, creating a support network through the power of singing. But there is still more to do in furthering our mission of Sing, Share, Support. 

It’s not critical that you have previous experience of being a Trustee, more important is the ability to think strategically and independently, act with integrity at all times, be inclusive and value the perspectives and ideas of others. 

You will need to attend four Board meetings a year. Three meetings are virtual, scheduled for Thursdays and run from 4-7.30pm and one in person on a Saturday in London 10.30 am -3.30pm. Trustees are also required to attend a Board Awayday each year. This usually takes place in London in January.

As a small charity there will also a requirement to get involved in other activities. Examples include chairing sub-committees, attending events and performances, supporting fundraising activities including the acquisition and engagement of major donors and providing advice to the operational team.

This is a volunteer role without remuneration, but reasonable expenses will be paid.

It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.

The It Gets Better Project was founded in 2010 in America. Since then, affiliated charities have been formed in over 20 different countries. We are now at the exciting stage of continue to grow and develop the UK affiliate having formally launched in October 2018.

Join our network of Regional Ambassadors to help promote It Gets Better UK, to inspire and engage with members of their local LGBTQ+ communities to get involved, and to help fundraise.

We're looking for volunteers UK-wide, particularly across Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and parts of England (North East, North West, and South West). If you are not based in these areas but are interested in the role, you are still welcome to apply as the local role exists across the country. 

What will I be doing? 

We ask Regional Ambassadors to deliver four self-led regional actions per year, and to expect to be asked to be involved in more ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities as these arise. Key activities include: 

• Raise awareness of It Gets Better UK and our work through talking to members of the LGBTQ+ community in your area, and on social media 

• Look after our information and fundraising stands at local events – most importantly, hosting an It Gets Better UK Pride stall in your local area. Members of the It Gets Better team will support you with sign-up admin and capacity on the day. So far, we're planning to attend Edinburgh Pride!

• Support other members of the It Gets Better UK volunteer team to deliver events in their area by adding capacity where possible, and within a distance that suits you – for example, helping out at a Pride stall run by another Ambassador nearby. 

• Deliver talks to local LGBTQ+ groups, community groups, schools etc about the work of It Gets Better UK and how they could help us achieve our goals 

• Inspire members of the LGBTQ+ community to add their own It Gets Better story to our work

What is the time commitment? 

This is a flexible role and the times will vary. Taking into account four self-led regional actions per year and ad-hoc centrally-led actions and activities, we recommend expecting to spend at least two hours a week on your role. We ask Regional Ambassadors to try to be available for Pride events over the summer: this means some half/full day activities over the summer period, usually on Saturdays. You’ll be able to sign up for days which suit you. Regional Ambassadors are appointed for up to two years. Regional Ambassadors will have a monthly online meeting with their It Gets Better UK point of contact.

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.
