In the process, we reduce 3.5 tons of Co2 emissions per battery. Battery recycling is an emission-intensive chemical process that causes environmental damage and harms people engaging with it. Our cutting-edge technology rejuvenates batteries without damaging them, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and avoiding the need for energy-intensive recycling. Lead-acid batteries are integral to battery backup systems in solar and wind farms, telecom towers, and data centres. They are also used widely in cars, forklifts, banks and ATM systems.
Battery recycling is an emission-intensive chemical process that causes environmental damage and harms people engaging with it. While recycling comes at the end of the battery’s life span, we mitigate their early death and regenerate them 2-3 times for up to 95% of their original capacity.

Street Child believes that every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. Our projects focus on a combination of education, child protection and livelihood support to address the social, economic and structural issues that underpin today’s education crisis. We partner with local organisations and communities to deliver our locally rooted programmes, using evidence to drive learning and the refinement and scale up of programmes to create maximum impact for the most children at the lowest cost. We pride ourselves on being willing to go to the world’s toughest places where others won’t, including remote, hard-to-reach areas and fragile, disaster-affected states across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Since 2008 we have helped over 250,000 children to go to school and learn, supported over 25,000 families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children.
About the Role:
We are in the process of implementing a fundraising CRM to efficiently manage our outreach activities. To support this project, we are seeking to recruit a Data Volunteer who can help us clean and migrate the historical fundraising data into the new database. This is an entry-level role, best suited for a candidate who is interested in developing a career in data. Data skills are high in demand so will suit someone keen on learning new data skills to enhance their CV. For the right candidate this will provide an opportunity to learn how not-for-profit organisations work and enable them an entry into the charity sector.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with good Excel skills (any knowledge of additional data tools such as MS Access, Power Query, etc will be an advantage), and some understanding of data related process. Hands-on training will be provided to the right candidate. As the focus of this role will be on enhancing the quality of the data, we are seeking a highly organised person who can pay greatest attention to detail. As part of this role you will be working with our database project lead.
To succeed in this role, we need someone with:
- Excellent eye for detail and a commitment to high standards
- Interest in learning data skills and have good Excel skills
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to interact with the wider Street Child UK team
- A passion for Street Child’s mission
We are looking for volunteers who can work for a minimum of 3 days a week (minimum 1 day in the office) for a minimum of 3 months. Ideal for those who live in the Greater London area as we will be able to provide transport costs only up to £25.

Join the governing body ('the Corporation') of Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College to determine strategy and monitor performance of a further education college with a mission of aiming high and changing lives.
What will you be doing?
West London College is a further education college with three centres located in Ealing, Hammersmith and Southall. For nearly 150 years, we have been providing training and development in the area, helping over 10,000 students achieve their career goals each year. The College has a governing body ('the Corporation') made up principally of governors appointed from outside the College to take legal responsibility for the College and make key decisions about how it is run.
Governors are individuals with broad skills and experience drawn from local communities and businesses, as well as from the public sector. The Board also includes staff members, student governors and the College’s CEO. The CEO (the only executive member on the Board) is responsible for the operational running of Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College (EHWLC).
The Board is advised by a Director of Governance, a professional independent of college management who accesses independent professional advice. The CEO and Board are also supported by a ‘senior leadership team’ with educational, financial and other relevant expertise. The Board, CEO and leadership team work together to set and implement college strategy and to be responsible stewards of the college’s assets.
What are we looking for?
The College has adopted the Education and Training Foundation's competency framework for governors and uses it for recruitment and performance purposes. Prospective governors should be able to evidence the majority of the Leadership and Values/Behaviours below. Developing expertise across the Technical elements will be supported by College staff and through participation in relevant training and development opportunities, for example via the Association of Colleges.
Governors will typically come to the College with a specific area of professional expertise. They need not be experienced in all of the areas highlighted.

- An ability to interpret financial information and use it effectively to inform decision-making
What difference will you make?
Governors bring their professional experience and personal attributes to bear in support of the college’s educational mission. The Board includes a wide range of experiences and professional backgrounds. It is not necessary to have worked in an educational setting in order to serve as a college governor – indeed, the college benefits from outside perspectives just as much as experience from other schools, universities and colleges.
What we expect is a commitment to the mission, vision and values of West London College, a willingness to make a full contribution and the ability to devote the time required to make that a reality. Taking into account preparing for and attending formal meetings, visiting the colleges, and attending training and networking events, this is likely to be around 6-10 hours per month. Formal meetings are a combination of in-person and online events.
You will add value by applying your professional skills and external perspective to ensure that the College meets the challenges of its external environment with a broad perspective.

They provide both an academic and therapeutic programme to enable their students to get back on track and reconnect with society. Heartwood House (based in Harrow) is now looking to strengthen its Board and we are seeking a Company Secretary and named Trustee for Governance and Law – you will bring insight and understanding of charity law, Charity Commission legal regulations, Company Legislation and best practice.
Trustees have a duty to ensure that the charity is well run, solvent, legally compliant, and working towards the charitable purpose for which it was established, and Trustee roles are an important and a highly rewarding way to support an organisation.
