About the Role:
This role is based in Bedfordshire with consideration given to hybrid working.
As a Triage and Early Intervention Officer you will be:
- Providing high quality support to victims of domestic abuse across Bedfordshire
- Working closely with our team of Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA), providing support as required
- Making initial contact with service users referred into our service, identifying any immediate risks and offering crisis intervention
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of voluntary and statutory partners to build local partnerships, in order to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse
You will need:
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse or vulnerable people
- Knowledge of risk accessing and identifying the needs of service users
- Have competent IT skills and experience of working on casework management systems
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands in a busy environment
- Be flexible to meet the needs of the service

Location – homebased within Brighton and Hove with some face-to-face meetings throughout the month within Brighton and Hove.
Hours – 21 hours per week, we can be flexible with the hours you would like to work except Thursday 9am to 2pm for team meetings.

We have an exciting and vital opportunity to join our welcoming and knowledgeable team and as a Dementia Adviser, working within the Brighton and Hove Memory Assessment Service! This alliance brings together the NHS and the Alzheimer’s Society, where the successful individual will work as part of the team to deliver advice, guidance and , signposting to people affected by dementia and their families and carers across the city.
This is a hugely rewarding role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by dementia, pre diagnosis and post diagnosis. You will be working mainly from home, but also you will be meeting colleagues and clients face to face throughout the month. Appointments and visits are booked and arranged on the behalf of the team, for you to support people in their homes where we interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. About you
- Be an empathetic listener, and effective communicator who adapts their style to suit the audience – from carers and families to medical professionals and colleagues, using a non-judgemental manner and a person centred, empowering approach.
- Be able identify, signpost and refer people to services needed as a result of your assessment and that of the other professionals in the team.
- Able to work under pressure and work within Memory Assessment Services appointment system and processes.
- Possess good IT skills to be able to accurately record keep and using client record systems with meaningful and valuable data.
What you’ll focus on:
- Provide pre and post diagnosis advice and guidance within in Brighton and Hove.
- You will identify people’s needs and the services they may wish to access, give advice about how to live well with dementia and support the improvement of their sense of wellbeing.
- Support with advice and guidance in person, over the telephone, via virtual options or in writing from your own home, at the Memory Assessment Service, in clinic and home visits.
- Aim to reach people affected by dementia from all communities and work to make your service as inclusive as possible.

Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)
Location: Lambeth, London
Salary: £23,085.69 per annum, inclusive of London weighting allowance

Hours: 30 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday). Please note that the the operating hours of the service are 8AM- 6PM Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover.
This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Duty Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to be the first point of contact for women who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support to survivors all risk levels and their children..
In this role you will be part of a busy team. You will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre. The duty IGVA will be responding to daily enquiries (specify from whom- public, agencies, individuals? over the phone and email as well as contacting survivors, assessing their risks and needs.
The duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the over to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support. The post holder will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

You are a graduate or holder of equivalent professional qualification in graphic design or illustration and already working within graphic design, with experience of magazine layout, illustration, PC use in design and the ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (CC), Indesign CC, Photoshop CC and Acrobat DC. You have excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan for, and juggle, competing deadlines and priorities whilst remaining calm under pressure. The ability to use AI in design would be distinct advantage.

About the Role:
You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also provide cover for the local VS Helpline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for service users referred in to the service, completing comprehensive impact and risks assessments using agreed processes and a tailoring the response to each individual's needs.
- Manage a caseload of service users who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally.
- Develop support plans where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service and provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
- Ensure that everyone is aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice and the Witness Charter..
- Comply and keep up to date with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including data protection legislation, confidentiality.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and Key Performance Measures are met relevant to the local contract.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
- Experience of working in an outcomes focused service
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impact of crime
- Knowledge and understanding of Domestic Abuse processes and services
- Experience of engaging with vulnerable victims of crime who may have complex needs
You will need:
- To demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to undertake impact and risks assessments and identify appropriate support
- Experience of safeguarding issues and legislation relating to both child protection and vulnerable adults
- The ability to manage a demanding workload and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines
- The ability to identify, develop and maintain partnerships with all relevant external organisations
- Excellent telephone and IT skills required to use a database and undertake all administrative and reporting requirements
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team but also to work independently in a variety of locations without direct supervision.

NAPAC is seeking Call and Email Handlers for our support services in Stockport
NAPAC provides the only free national support service for adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse. We offer specialist, confidential support to all adult survivors of any type of abuse, operated by experienced staff and trained volunteers.
NAPAC works closely with the criminal justice and public health sectors. We support survivors to navigate and understand their options with criminal and civil law, and in healing and recovery. Choice is key, and our website provides a lot of free information for survivors and those supporting them.
As a trusted public-health organisation, people use NAPAC’s services to support their overall health and wellbeing, to build and improve their resilience, and to be able to make brave, positive choices every day – including asking for help when they need it.
Those using our services ask for support with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, isolation, navigating relationships, dissociative identity disorder, reporting to the police, domestic and sexual violence, boundaries, and complex post-traumatic stress. For many, contacting NAPAC is a first step to recovering from trauma and leading happier, more fulfilled lives.
NAPAC support service often hear from adult survivors that are disclosing their childhood abuse for the very first time, so sensitivity, safety and confidentiality are highly important.

As a support line Call Handler, you will be a key member of our dedicated team, providing emotional support and a safe environment for callers with a wide range of complex issues.
NAPAC offers full training and hands-on support for call handlers with every call they receive. You will use the knowledge and skills you’ve developed through our training to explore issues relating to childhood abuse and it how it effects adulthood and signpost callers to relevant resources and services that can provide more in-depth support. Calls are caller-led, and you will be there to empower each caller to take back control in their lives.
We are looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient with a real passion for supporting people through their healing journey. We want our team to reflect the diversity of the people we support, and actively encourage applicants with different lived experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Follow confidentiality and safeguarding policies
· Provide appropriate signposting to external services in accordance to callers identified needs.
· Ensuring that key record keeping is maintained to the required standard and contributing to service monitoring requirements
· You will have the emotional resilience to be able to support individuals who may be severely distressed, experienced trauma, and people who may be at risk of harm.
· The ability to think on your feet to support callers who may call during panic attacks or flashbacks
· Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.
· Providing email support to individuals.
· Being flexible in your approach to your work in line with changing and growing needs of the support service.
· To be Caller led and be able to keep your own personal boundaries whilst working in your own unique way.
Salary: £26,520 per annum, pro rata, plus pension and an employee benefits package.
Hours: 17.5 per week (0.5 FTE) to be worked flexibly across the week in person. Remote and hybrid working is not available for this role.
Contract: One year, with possibility of extension subject to funding.
