An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful.
As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. We have two permanent Funding Officer positions in the Yorkshire and the Humber regional team.
Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. - You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets.

- You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

About Greater Together Manchester
Greater Together Manchester (GTM) is a visionary local charity which seeks mobilise communities across Greater Manchester, supporting churches and grassroots community leaders to create and develop social justice projects, to take on leadership roles and to engage with decision makers in order to tackle chronic issues of deprivation and disadvantage in their neighbourhoods. We also directly deliver a number of our own front-line services when this is the best way to tackle an urgent, acute need.

Purpose of the post
To encourage the development of local churches’ response to poverty and social justice across the Diocese of Manchester, with a focus on developing sustainable projects that look to address the root causes of poverty.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Development and Delivery
- Work with the CEO of Greater Together Manchester to develop a work plan for engaging with existing parish based social justice projects and initiatives, with a focus on shifting from crisis response to prevention.
- Provide a range of development support to new projects and initiatives.
- Be the contact person for parishes seeking advice and support on addressing issues of social justice.
- Keep up to date with the work of national, regional and local organisations and charities that work in this space, as well as keeping up to date with government policies, initiatives and communicating these effectively to parishes and communities.
- Develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems that demonstrate the impact of GTM’s development work.
Revitalisation and Promotion of Church-Based Social Justice Work
- To be an informed and knowledgeable advocate and champion for issues of social justice.

We’re looking for a part-time Grants and Trusts Officer (2.5 days a week). Purpose of role:
Increasing and diversifying the sources of grant funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Area Manager will provide management and leadership of CAVA’s Solihull portfolio, which is at an evolving and exciting phase of integration across the Borough.
The Area Manager has a key role in leading and shaping CAVA’s presence in Solihull, working strategically alongside the Board and CAVA’s Senior Management Team, to lead the organisation into its next era of growth and delivery.
The Area Manager has a key role and responsibility representing voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise groups and organisations, providing a strong and confident voice on behalf of the sector as we work alongside partners from the Public, NHS and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS).
The remit provides the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant impact to reduce inequality within communities by supporting the VCFSE sector and working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, especially through prevention, early intervention and community engagement.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (please see Job Description for full details)
- Leadership and Management of the Solihull programme portfolio (including public sector contract) and CAVA Strategy
- Line Management of a small, focussed team
- Strategy, Planning and Control in line with need, compliance, business planning, lead areas
- Financial Management including setting and managing budgets and risk in line with sustainability and financial controls/compliance
- External Representation and Partnership Working across the landscape, provide the voice of the sector and working in collaboration, alongside public VCFSE, private, public and statutory sector partners
- Income Generation and Growth through the writing of tender and funding applications, evaluation and funding returns/reports and including other fundraising strategies

The Director of Community Training and Learning will play a critical leadership role in shaping the technical foundations of Blue Ventures’ global training efforts. As the strategic lead on knowledge content, this role will oversee the development of frameworks, guidance documents, and curriculum materials that form the backbone of Blue Ventures’ training and capacity building across key programme pillars: Community-Based Fisheries Management, Secure Rights, Food Security, and Financial Inclusion.
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, the Director will manage a team of subject matter experts, ensuring that their work is strategically aligned, technically robust, and rooted in the lived experience of the communities we serve. This role is responsible for creating the substantive content and technical learning outcomes transformed by the Training and Learning team into engaging, accessible training modules for our digital learning platform.
The Director of Community Training and Learning will bring deep expertise in community fisheries, strong leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams, and the ability to think strategically about how interconnected programme themes contribute to community-led resource management and resilience. Job Profile
CAFOD’s mission in the Catholic community of England and Wales is to inspire and equip Catholics to actively engage in the Church’s efforts to overcome poverty and injustice. Our regional teams focus on recruiting and supporting a dedicated group of volunteers within parish and school communities, empowering them to educate, engage, and inspire others to act in solidarity for the common good. The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative and communications support to the Community Participation Coordinators across England and Wales, with a focus on the West & Wales region as the first point of contact. This includes coordinating administrative tasks performed by office volunteers and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The role also involves volunteer recruitment administration, overseeing and training Office Volunteers, and ensuring effective database management.
This role can be based anywhere in the UK including our head office in London, working from home, from one of CAFOD’s Volunteer Centres, or a combination of both. The role requires occasional travel to London and other areas within the East & West side of the country. Travel expenses will be reimbursed, and time off in lieu will be granted for travel beyond normal working hours.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) and reports to the Volunteer Support and Development Coordinator.
