BACKGROUND
Our work has never been more needed. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.6 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 300,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
This is an exciting time to join Magic Breakfast if you wish to make a difference to the lives of children as we work to influence both policy implementation, with the national rollout of primary-aged universal school breakfast, and legislative change, through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. There has also been commitment from the Scottish Government for a national breakfast scheme and we are seeking to expand our advocacy work into Wales. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are implemented in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free.
In addition, thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams. And for the very youngest, we know that the disadvantage gap begins before they even reach reception. With the Government commitment to another 100,000 places in school-based nurseries, early years is also a critical part of our advocacy work.

JOB PURPOSE
The Fundraising and Development department is responsible for ensuring Magic Breakfast’s on-going sustainability through the generation of income and other critical non-financial support. The Department Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Development and other members of the Fundraising Leadership to facilitate closer alignment across the department, help unlock and enable income growth, whilst also providing administrative and coordination support to the team more broadly. The successful candidate will also play a critical role in developing and delivering the department-wide calendar of stewardship events, working with colleagues from across the major gifts team to identify opportunities to connect our supporters even further with the impact of our work
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Department Coordination

Work closely with the Director of Fundraising to coordinate effective planning and management of the Fundraising & Development (F&D) strategy by coordinating quarterly review and monthly Core Management Group (CMG) meetings and managing all aspects of the monthly F&D team meetings ensuring they have maximum impact for all individuals and the organisation. This includes managing actions, minutes and agendas

Support with the planning, coordination and diary management for any department away days, planning or reflection sessions

Lead efforts to enhance synergies within and across the F&D and other departments, identifying and enabling opportunities to add value, enhance efficiencies and reduce siloed working, for example through reviewing current systems and facilitating opportunities for collaboration and support

Provide project management support for significant team level projects, including developing project timelines and plans using Asana (e.g., for the Magic Morning webinars process and the department’s involvement in giving campaigns or annual reports)

Work across the department to identify any gaps or updates required for process/ ‘how-to’ documents

Act as the department representative for Asana, systems and process champion, providing training to colleagues where necessary

Act as the department lead for other key internal groups such as the all staff away day.
Supporter Care
-
Support the Fundraising Officer where necessary to act as the key welcome point to people reaching out to support Magic Breakfast, responding to enquiries received on the phone, escalating and triaging queries where necessary.

With support from across the Department, develop and deliver a calendar of department wide engagement events, including group school visits, stakeholder events, thought leadership dinners, and our online ‘Magic Mornings’ - a speaker series where we invite funders to hear more about our work.

Lead on the planning, review and learning capture/ sharing for all events, and more broadly the stewardship calendar across the department.

Work across the department to review cross-departmental stewardship and identify opportunities for improvement, collaboration and alignment to key objectives, either through events or other activities.

Ensure that all confidential donor data is stored and handled in accordance with data protection regulations and all records retained on Salesforce where required.
Fundraising Administration

Provide general administration support to the Fundraising & Development department, working in collaboration with the admin network across the organisation. Potential tasks may include but are not limited to meeting logistics, booking venues for away days and accommodation/travel bookings

Develop and maintain accurate and efficient administration systems and tools to support the department, for example our intranet section

Manage the Department’s resources and order supplies

Assist the Gifts Officer with gift processing when required, including the processing of cheques, sending acknowledgements, and adding gifts to our CRM, Salesforce

Administrative support to the Director of Fundraising and Development as required, including pulling reports and occasional diary management

Ad-hoc support to other team members.

Support the department with scoping and research for new fundraising products or initiatives

Make purchases on behalf of the Fundraising and Development department in adherence with internal budget approval processes and delegation of authority

The Opportunity:
This is where this new role comes in: The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in supporting the stewardship of the current donors while also securing the vital resources needed to realise our bold ambition and help us transform the lives of millions of young refugees and conflict affected youth across the globe.
You will be part of leading a growing and changing organisation, and will work closely with Amala’s two Co-founders and the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy, cultivate and deepen key donor relationships and boost our income growth from our current £800k towards our £3 million target by 2027, driving the financial sustainability necessary for Amala’s continued growth and impact.

Who we are looking for:

You will be an inspiring leader with exceptional people management skills, with experience in leading growing organisations, and who enjoys the strategic side of the role as well as having a hands on approach.

Essential experience:

Proven experience in a senior fundraising management role within the non-profit sector, ideally within international development.

A proven track record of success in fundraising, particularly in developing and executing complex fundraising strategies for a growing non-profit organisation.

A strong history of securing six-figure, multi-year grants and contracts in the UK and internationally, with an annual income generation of £1m+.

What we offer:
This full time, fully remote position offers a salary of £50,000-55,000 if you are a UK resident. If you reside in a different location, the salary will be adjusted accordingly. Senior Education Officer

About the Role
We are looking to hire a skilled and engaging Senior Education Officer to join a busy team, to further develop and implement an educational outreach programme which reaches children in Wales, Scotland and England. At present, this post has funding for three years from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, one year of which is now complete and we are looking to deliver the second two years of the project.
The purpose of the role is to extend the passion and knowledge of beavers into communities around Britain, to engage and enthuse young people and to reconnect (or reinforce) their love of nature. Using current materials and resources you will do so by delivering high-quality learning sessions within schools, community groups or virtual training sessions, sometimes delivered in conjunction with our beaver site partners and their education teams.
You will also be responsible for developing further aspects of the programme according to the requirements for each country and in partnership with relevant organisations
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver a range of exciting, curriculum-linked workshops, talks, school and group sessions associated with beaver release sites.
- Network and build contacts and relationships with key personnel in schools, youth groups and community groups in order to create engagement with the education programme and expand its reach.
- Develop further resources and engaging activities or projects for group learning.
- Deliver standard level beaver ecology training to a range of age groups.
- Ensure the education programmes are up-to-date, accurate and complement the wider delivery of our mission.
- Monitor, collate and report on impact, working with the communications team to support the effective evaluation of our programme.
- Support volunteers and build capacity working with partner staff in the delivery of beaver education programmes.
- Work with the team to allocate resources ensuring education initiatives are well planned, deliver maximum value for money and remain within budget.

This role would continue the smooth transition from the Saving Nature through Local Groups project into core delivery, taking responsibility of the Vision and Local Group action plan.
What's the role about?

This is a new role within a growing fundraising team which is aiming to significantly grow income to achieve our growth strategy. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, your main responsibility will be to develop relationships with individual and community donors, and legacy pledgers. Your personalised approach and friendly manner will help them feel valued, understand the life changing difference they make and deepen their connection to our work reducing loneliness in later life. Key responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for supporters and build good relationships with them - respond to queries, take donations, and support them in their fundraising.

About the role
Sightsavers’ Trusts and Corporate Partnerships team is excited to be expanding its team in response to growing demands and opportunities in the trusts & foundation sector. We are recruiting for two additional Trusts & Foundations Advisors to be key contributors to the development of Sightsavers trusts and foundations programme. They will play a crucial role in the successful recruitment and cultivation of new business, while also managing a portfolio of existing trust and foundation donors primarily based in the UK, U.S and Europe.
In this role, the Advisor will be instrumental in contributing towards the team’s annual income target and supporting additional planned growth in the coming years.
Responsibilities
- Manage and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of key trust and foundation donors for Sightsavers (up to 7-figure funding agreements) via proposals, mailings, reports, telephone or face-to-face meetings as appropriate, and coordinate donor visits, dealing with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees.
- Develop key external and internal relationships and donor engagement activities for the achievement of planned objectives with these donors.
- Research, identify, prioritise, and develop personalised engagement plans and donor strategies to cultivate new trust prospects in targeted global markets. Lead on cultivating relationships with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees, with the aim of establishing additional high-value funding relationships.
- Work proactively across the organisation, including cross-culturally, to coordinate, develop, and deliver a high standard of compelling project proposals and reports ready for submission to donors whilst ensuring excellent grant/contract management to existing donor relationships.
- Actively participate in the networks surrounding trusts and foundations, sharing information, insights, opportunities, and fundraising materials produced.
- Represent Sightsavers and/or support staff delegations at conferences and networks to engage with and cultivate new donor relationships.

About the role
This role will support Kinship to operate as an effective charity by ensuring effective day-to-day operations and seamless delivery of the People function at the charity.

Collaborate with the Campaigns and Advocacy Officer to formulate and promote evidence-based policy positions, engaging key stakeholders in government, healthcare, and related sectors.

Support the Campaigns and Advocacy Officer to expand the Pathfinders advocacy service and drive referrals to the service.

Represent the organisation at events, sector meetings, and forums to build our profile and increase our influence on policy issues relevant to our community.
4. Team Leadership and Development

Manage, support, and foster the professional growth of the Engagement Officer, Social Media Officer, and Campaigns and Advocacy Officer, building a collaborative and empowered team.

Set team objectives and KPIs, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to ensure alignment with organisational goals and impact.
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development

Cultivate relationships with relevant stakeholders, including influencers, partner organisations, funders, policymakers, and the neuromuscular community.

Work closely with the CEO to manage community partnerships, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and expanding opportunities for user engagement.
6. Organisational management

Support the CEO with the overall running of the organisation by attending meetings of the management committee as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking on additional tasks as agreed.

Provide contingency support to the Senior Leadership Team to cover essential tasks such as reporting hours to our payroll team in the event of staff absence.

Maintain an overview of projects and teams across the organisation to provide short-term management and HR support in the event of staff shortages or incapacity.

Review, approve and document payments in the charity using our software and finance process.

Support the development of funding bids and project plans for introducing new projects.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, engagement, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

This is an externally funded post which will be focused on opening new provision and supporting existing provision in order to reduce waiting lists within specific funding areas. You need to be able to coach, empower and inspire our volunteers and cadets, both in person and remotely, to grow the Sea Cadets.

You will have experience of delivering presentations, developing ideas and projects collaboratively, and using data-driven insights to shape future projects and influence decision-making at a regional or national level.
