Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach.
As a Volunteer Integrated Technology Project Lead with Living Reasons, you will oversee the project management of technology integration across all aspects of our operations, including both software and hardware. Working closely with the funding team, you will design and deliver project plans that attract funding and ensure resources are used effectively and in line with funding agreements. You will also lead on the procurement of hardware from third-party suppliers, including organisations that support non-profits with technology solutions.
In collaboration with Technology Coordinators, you will use user feedback to guide the development of software that is accessible, adaptable, and reliable for a diverse demographic of users. This role will also focus on driving innovation—creating solutions that not only strengthen Living Reasons but also have the potential to be developed and supplied to other businesses or end users through the organisation. By leading on strategy, coordination, and delivery, you will ensure that Living Reasons harnesses technology in innovative and sustainable ways that maximise impact.

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.
In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, providing warm clothing, bedding, food and assistance to refugees who live in appalling and dangerous conditions.
Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as offering social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services.
Our Legal Access Department is an access to justice project that exists to arrange critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, to support people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum. The department, made up mostly of volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that people feel informed, empowered, and far less isolated and alone.
About the team:
The Public Law team operates within our Legal Access Department, which works to support clients navigating the complex and often traumatic asylum system in the UK. The Public Law team's main focus is on challenging issues relating to Home Office-provided accommodation. We support hundreds of clients accommodated at former MoD site RAF Wethersfield and in Home Office-run hotels across the UK. We provide one-to-one casework for individuals in unsuitable accommodation, gathering information to support a transfer request to more suitable accommodation, and gathering data and evidence for wider legal challenges and advocacy work. We believe that people seeking asylum have a right to feel safe in their accommodation.

Position Overview
The Grant Writer will play a pivotal role in securing funding to support Wekume’s programmes and initiatives. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families. Our bespoke support is free of charge and available 365 days of the year. The supplementary support to our paid staff that our volunteers offer ensures the best experience for our supported families. Role Purpose
Shooting Star Children's Hospices is seeking an experienced and dedicated academic with a strong interest in paediatric palliative care, or related field to join our Research Governance Committee as a Volunteer Academic Member.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of research at a research active children’s hospice, to ensure that our research activities meet the highest standards of integrity, ethics and governance.
You will work with the Committee Chair, the Research Fellow, and other committee members to support research that makes a meaningful difference to children with life-limiting conditions and their families as well as bereaved families, including those where a child died unexpectedly.
Appointment to the Committee will be subject to confirmation by the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Trustee Board.
Duties and key responsibilities
- Participate in quarterly meetings: Attend and contribute to online committee meetings held four times per year (papers and slide deck will be prepared by the Chair).
- Review research proposals: Provide expert review of project proposals, contributing to the assurance of ethical and governance standards.
- Support research oversight: Help ensure that all research complies with regulatory and ethical requirements and reflects best practices.

Support the Nova Family Programme tutors in facilitating online home school sessions.
Role Description:
This role will be to act as a teaching assistant to tutors delivering online English, maths and science classes (for young people at Key Stage 2 and 3). With the disruption of Covid-19, many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. Expectations of All Board Members:

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Commit a minimum of 20 hours per month to board service and foundation activities.

Position: Board of Director - Fundraising Expert (Unpaid Volunteer Role)

Location: Hybrid (remote + in-person events as needed)
Overview:
Board members at Guardian Light Foundation provide strategic direction, policy development, fundraising support, and public advocacy to advance the foundation’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:

Participate in policy development and governance of the foundation.

Dedicate at least 20 hours per month toward board and foundation activities.

Support fundraising efforts by contributing personally and leveraging networks.

Serve as an ambassador by representing the foundation publicly at events, presentations, and networking opportunities.

Offer skills and expertise in areas such as marketing, web design, fundraising, accounting, and technology, teachers, healthcare professionals and solicitors/lawyers.

Ensure accountability, transparency, and ethical governance within the foundation.

About GBSS
GBSS is the UK’s leading charity working to prevent life-threatening group B Strep infections in babies. Our Trustees play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring it remains true to its mission, well-governed, financially sound, and impactful.
You will be part of a committed and collegiate Board, working alongside fellow Trustees, our Clinical Advisory Panel and our Staff Team to uphold GBSS’s values and objectives.
Key Trustee Responsibilities
Trustees contribute actively to the Board, which:
- Sets and maintains the vision, mission and values.
- Develops strategic direction and longer-term strategies.
- Establishes and monitors policy.
- Ensures compliance with the Governing Document and the law.
- Ensures accountability and that resources are used exclusively in furtherance of GBSS’s objectives.
- Maintains proper fiscal oversight.
- Promotes the charity externally.
- Appoints, supports and monitors the performance of the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintains effective Board performance.

We work with local authorities and businesses to improve streets and public spaces. Our reports, such as The Pedestrian Pound, make a substantial contribution to the active travel agenda.
We are seeking someone with strong leadership and networking skills, with experience of good governance and helping organisations through growth. You will possess a substantial reputation which will add to the credibility of Living Streets. The role is a voluntary unpaid position, though reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The term of office is for six years.

Experience required
- Experience in digital service design, delivery, or transformation either in charity of commercial organisations in particular support cross-sector innovation
- Understanding of user needs and digital accessibility
- Familiarity with tools and processes for operational improvement, e.g. workflow automation, cloud systems
- Strategic thinking with a practical approach to implementation
- Advise on digital infrastructure, supplier oversight, and appropriate technology investments
- Experience with digital tools, artificial intelligence and organisational change is desirable
- Successful experience of operating within a board in a charitable, public sector or commercial organisation
- Demonstrable experience of building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues to achieve organisational objectives
- A proven track record of sound judgement and effective decision-making
- A history of impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences
- A track record of commitment to promoting equality and diversity
Knowledge, skills and understanding required
- Commitment to the organisation and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
- Preparedness to make unpopular recommendations to the board, and a willingness to speak their mind
- Willingness to be available to staff for advice and enquiries on an ad hoc basis
