This role offers the opportunity to plan, create & deliver a variety of communications, leading on design and digital deliverables across internal & external channels for Glass Door Homeless Charity.  

The Digital Communication Officer works in the Communications team, reporting to the Head of Communications & Fundraising and manage Glass Door design, web & socials.  

Through this role, we will deliver a robust plan of impactful and on-brand content, raising the profile of our work and ensuring we are known amongst existing and new audiences in London 

Job Spec 

Editorial & Design 

• Ability to produce fresh, emotive and informative content across print & digital platforms - including profiles of guests, news stories, blogs and speeches

• Lead on design and delivery across the organisation – digital & print: including posters, informative leaflets, presentations, graphics and images for social media, newsletters and website as needed 

• Work collaboratively across the organisation to solicit content from other members of staff, including caseworkers, operations and fundraising colleagues to support Communications’ strategic aims 

• Support the design of campaigns, appeals & events - working alongside the Head of Comms & Fundraising, and key members of the fundraising team to bring alive the vision of the campaign. 

• Co-lead on our work with content producers (photographers, videographers, designers, etc), ensuring content meets Glass Door’s standards and is signed off by appropriate staff members

• Maintain Sharepoint for digital content – including photos, social images, video and written content 

• Provide quality-control support (eg proof-reading and editing) on all materials outside of the Comms team and externally, ensuring all content, imagery and branding are consistent with house style and on brand 

• Create & deliver video content to support the digital strategy and on an ad-hoc basis 

Digital

• Manage and maintain all social media accounts in-line with Glass Door's social media guidelines, focusing on building awareness, driving traffic and increasing engagement

• Manage and update Glass Door's website in-line with the digital strategy and content planner 

• Co-develop & oversee a digital content calendar 

• Co-manage delivery of multiple/congruent campaigns, appeals and events to engage existing and attract new supporters, often working alongside key members of other teams including fundraising, operations and advocacy teams. 

• Support with digital marketing, working closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer, Head of Comms & Fundraising Team to plan, track and successfully deliver paid and organic digital journeys. 

• Monitor social media and advise key staff on any issues arising that could jeopardise the reputation of the charity, ensuring all Crisis Comms is managed in line with Crisis Comms Policy 

• Support the development and delivery of bi-monthly internal e-newsletters.

Monitor impact 

• Work closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Officer to ensure all conversions of paid promotion are tracked effectively and efficiently 

• Support the monitoring and tracking of website usage 

• Support the evaluation of social media and online reach, create monthly reports, and assist with evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns and appeals 

• Support the monitoring and tracking Google ads and analytics 

• Support the vision and production of a new website, ensuring it is on brand and meets our content and communication needs 

• Monitor, assess and report to relevant teams of our content performance to ensure our channels are hives of activity and relevant to our audiences. 

• Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities 

Strategy 

• Co-lead on the planning and delivery of the Glass Door Communications Strategy – specifically on the digital and content plans 

• Support the delivery of Fundraising key deliverables – specifically on the digital content, stories and campaign key deliverables 

• Co-manage the Comms Team’s and cross org deliverables via project management platform monday(dot)com 

Events 

• Support co-ordination of events, by designing and delivering print and digital materials, online support to fundraisers, and representing the charity as needed in-person and online. 

Other

• Attend and participate in relevant team meetings, and other ad hoc meetings when necessary. 

• Undertake other ad hoc tasks as directed, such as assistance on Glass Door events and occasional administrative support to the CEO.

About the Role

This is an exciting new role which will help the Methodist Church in Britain to embed in the life of churches its commitment to be justice-seeking. 

In 2024, the Church adopted a Strategy to embed the Methodist Conference’s Justice-Seeking Church Report in local churches, across the Connexional Team and throughout the life of Methodism. 

The Justice-Seeking Church Officer will shape and develop this work across all levels of the Church in creative and innovative ways, identifying opportunities and responding to challenges.  They will strengthen leadership for justice across churches, and enable collaboration across programmes and issues. They will enable theological reflection and will lead on shaping the vital emerging work around participation of people with lived experience of poverty.

Interagency work

· Work to embed the Case Manager role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area.

· Effective understanding and implementation of institutional advocacy by pro- socially challenging partner agencies, acknowledging best practice and striving for change to benefit the individual, the service and the sector.

· Support other professionals in responding to service users in a way that is coterminous with the aims and ethos of the Drive Project.

· Working closing with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.

· Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse.

· Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer.

Case management

· Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring that service users and colleagues understand and comply with the service’s safeguarding framework.

· Manage a case load focusing on high risk perpetrators of domestic abuse to provide an assertive, medium to long term service, based on thorough assessment and individual support planning that adopts the principles of both ‘Support (change) or/and Disrupt (continued offending) concept.

· Contribute to regular service reviews which include monitoring data, evaluations, intake and output policy, and practice and work load reviews for the whole service.

· Attend monthly case management meeting with the Service Manager .

· Attend clinical supervision.

· Take appropriate steps to protect where there is an imminent risk to another person.

Recording and administration

· Ensure that case files and records are accurate and complete, and are kept and in compliance with Data Protection Act requirements.

· To enter all the required information into the Drive project electronic case management system to enable tracking of service user change, multi-agency working and risk management.

· Weekly maintenance and accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication.

· Comply with the data protection and information sharing protocols that Drive has agreed to.

Direct work with service users

· Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service users time in the Drive project

· Use combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of therapeutic skills to engage service users to addressing their abusive behaviour

· Motivate and support service users to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to the risk that they pose to others or act as barrier for them in addressing that risk. e.g. housing, substance use etc.

· To ensure that service users understand that the community and Drive project will ensure that they are accountable for continued use of abuse and abusive behaviour towards others

· Ensure that there is a consistent delivery of services to the identified perpetrators of domestic abuse, including comprehensive risk assessment, support planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs.

· Develop strategies that will disrupt the continued risk posed by service users

· Undertake assessment of risk, needs and attitudes to inform the individual

service user’s intervention plan

· Ensure that risk assessment and risk management procedures are followed at all times.

· Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the service works in, providing a service that recognises the diverse needs of service users and their families.

· Work closely with the IDVAs’ supporting the partners, ex-partners and new partners, and family members of service users in management risk and developing intervention plans, as set out in the Drive Manual.

Main responsibilities

• Assist the Fundraising Manager with income-generation activity across the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential 

• Clear passion and interest in fundraising — whether it be learning new skills or developing this area of expertise. 

• Some experience securing and/or managing individual giving OR major donor fundraising.

• Strong communication skills (internally with other colleagues and externally with supporters) including the ability to write clear and persuasive fundraising copy.

• The ability to write applications to secure grants from trusts and foundations and reporting.

• Ability to take initiative, manage competing priorities and ensure deadlines are met.

• Commitment to Free Tibet’s mission. 

Desirable

• CRM and fundraising analysis experience.

• Digital fluency in direct relation to fundraising i.e. email marketing and social media.

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

About the role

My View Project provides one-to-one psychological therapy, group therapy and Psychoeducational Workshops to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people presenting with mental distress. The project has adapted a psychosocial perspective using our Therapeutic Care Model to address the identified needs of clients using a holistic approach. The team have supported unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people by providing therapeutic support since 2015.

The purpose of this post is to provide therapeutic intervention to unaccompanied children and young people who have often been through traumatic experiences, including being trafficked, abused and having witnessed horrific events, as a result of upheaval in their country of origin and along their journey to survival.

Therapy at My View is delivered alongside casework support delivered by a caseworker who supports clients with any issues such as age assessment, housing, access to healthcare, benefits, school enrolment etc. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Therefore, all convictions, cautions and bind-overs, including those regarded as ‘spent’, must be declared at the application stage.

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week.
