With the end of bear bile farming in Vietnam now within reach, Animals Asia is entering an exciting new phase – expanding sanctuary capacity, entering new markets, and securing long-term care for every rescued bear.

Animals Asia has spent over 25 years working to end cruelty and restore respect for animals across Asia. With teams in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, the UK, and beyond, they combine advocacy, direct rescue, and sanctuary care to create systemic change. Their mission to end bear bile farming – arguably the world’s cruelest form of animal abuse – is almost complete. In November 2023, they opened their third bear sanctuary which will enable them to bring home every last bear and achieve their founding goal in Vietnam by the end of 2026.

About the role 

As our Health & Safety Manager, you will handle the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our Health & Safety systems. You will act as the organisation’s competent person, providing expert advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation. 

You will monitor changes in legislation and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement. This includes regularly reviewing and updating Health & Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments. You will offer practical, accessible advice to colleagues and support them in embedding safe working practices into their day-to-day activities. 

In addition, you will develop and deliver mandatory training programmes, as well as tailored sessions to meet emerging needs. You will manage all incident reporting processes, including RIDDOR notifications to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), and ensure thorough follow-up. About you

Partnership Experience Manager (Maternity Cover)

About the role

You will play a key role in driving the continuous improvement and growth of our national partnership through deepening the quality and impact of our local collaboration hubs. You will also oversee the day-to-day running of hubs of our schools and trusts, which includes holding responsibility for the operations of the Partnerships Team and working closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure that all hubs, schools and trusts have an excellent experience with Challenge Partners. 

You will also oversee the implementation of the organisation’s Account Management strategy, working closely with members of the Leadership Team  to implement our strategy for effective partnership experience (our term for account management and customer service) for our partner schools and trusts. This includes holding some key strategic relationships, representing the organisation at external meetings and overseeing partner experience operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Partnership Experience Manager will have the following key areas of responsibility and will be expected to undertake other responsibilities commensurate with the role as requested:

Strategic Leadership and Management  - Hub Quality and Impact

• Develop and lead our strategy to improve the quality and impact of Challenge Partners’ Hubs, continuing to develop high performing hubs and supporting rapid improvement in new and emerging hubs

• Deliver, grow and evaluate the impact of our hub-led programmes: Middle Leaders’ Quality Assurance Review and Leadership Residency Programme

• Oversee the continuous improvement of national Knowledge Exchange and Areas of Excellence

• Lead a Hub Quality and Impact team, including all central team hub owners and executive hub links, through providing clarity on the Hub Quality and Impact strategy and operations.

Strategic Leadership and Management - Partnership Experience and Communications

• Develop and lead the implementation of our Account Management strategy ensuring that accounts are given the attention needed to ensure a smooth experience and high satisfaction rates

• Oversee Customer Care processes across the organisation, guaranteeing that any issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner 

• Oversee whole partnership communications, including half termly partnership newsletters

• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships (Senior Partners, Hub Managers, trust CEOs) with your allocated key accounts to ensure that regular dialogue with them informs the strategy and continuous improvement in our support of hub quality and partner experience

• Act as an ambassador for Challenge Partners, representing the organisation externally where required

• Lead an Account Management approach through providing clarity on the account management strategy and operations.

Oversight of partner experience and hub management operations 

• Line management of the Partnership Lead and one or two Partnership Co-ordinators

• Team leadership of the Hub Quality and Impact and Account Management teams, delegating tasks appropriately 

• Work closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of all hubs 

• Act as a point of escalation for any issues across hubs

• Identify hubs at risk, and lead on creating sustainable solutions with team members

• Work closely with the Finance Team to facilitate our invoicing processes for each academic year 

• Oversee hub funding processes across all hubs, proactively considering any changes needed in line with Hub Quality work

• Oversee Pricing Governance processes

Database Administrator

We are looking for a highly competent Database Administrator to join a Governance team.  This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Diocesan team to ensure the database is maintained accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.

About the Role

As Database Administrator you will be responsible for the upkeep of the diocesan CMS database and act as the diocesan Superuser to provide support, training and advice to other diocesan users.

What you’ll do:  

• Act as the expert user for the CMS database –granting permissions and offering support, training and advice to diocesan users including staff, clergy and parish officers
• Make updates to the CMS database to reflect changes in the diocese to ensure data accuracy, including after Annual Parochial Church meetings (APCM) and Mission and Pastoral scheme amendments
• Generate reports and mailing lists for diocesan users
• Act as an assistant user for the People system and Salesforces system.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Experience of using database systems

• Expert knowledge and experience of MS Excel and of creating mail merges in Excel and Word

• An understanding of the Church of England and parish governance and structures (desirable)
• The ability to establish constructive working relationships with people at all levels

Global Programme Manager (Lebanon)

The Programme Manager is an exciting and influential role at RCPCH Global, a specialist unit within the College, in which you will lead the management of our Early Child Development and Disability programme work in Lebanon and the wider Middle East region; you will also be responsible for supporting smaller programme development with our partner, the Paediatric Association of Sierra Leone. Based in our London office, you will oversee the implementation of the programmes, including the delivery of high-quality programme activities.

As Programme Manager, you will monitor and manage all financial and budgetary aspects of the programme in compliance with donor requirements and take the lead on all programme reporting to donors, maintaining and ensuring high-quality programme monitoring and evaluation processes are adhered to. You will also provide strategic/backstopping technical support on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programme design, budget formulation, financial and activity reporting and M&E with the other members of the Global Team.

Crucially, you will be responsible for liaising with local programme counterparts and stakeholders in the field, which may include regular field visits. You will also take the lead on the recruitment and management of short- and/or long-term programme volunteer clinicians, as well as short-term advisory consultants, for the programme.

You will lead, with the Global Team members, on wider donor liaison, including development of fundraising strategies and target donor institutions, and you will help develop new programme grant agreements, as well as promoting RCPCH Global activities to external stakeholders.

Suitably qualified in international development, public health, international and global health, health systems strengthening and child health, or with equivalent work experience, you should have excellent project/programme management skills and have a background in a relevant international/development management or implementation role. 

With demonstrable experience of designing, initiating and leading complex programme development processes, including with senior government counterparts, local partner organisations and international and multilateral donor agencies, you should have a significant understanding of budget management and financial reporting, including to bilateral and multilateral donors.

Previous experience of successfully managing large complex programmes, including supporting field-programme teams both remotely and in the field, within the international development and/or health sectors is essential, in particular with experience in working with Palestinian communities both in-situ in the West Bank and Gaza, and in other refugee camp environments as well as broader experience of working in developing countries is highly desirable.

Although based in London, this role may include some travel to Lebanon and other countries/regions as required. 

RCPCH Global is a unit within RCPCH which designs and manages a range of international projects and programmes to improve neonatal, child and adolescent health, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Our programmes use teams of skilled clinicians and other health professionals to work with counterparts in targeted low-income countries to train and mentor doctors, nurses and other health workers, as a means of helping to build the capacity and quality of the health systems in those countries.
