About the Role

The Advice Supervisor will be a key member of our Community Advice team who supervises and contributes to the delivery of our core service. You will help ensure we provide a quality advice service to Camden residents across face-to-face, telephone, video channels and other digital developments and ensure the targets, outputs and outcomes of all the generalist advice contracts and/or grant agreements are met.

Ideally, you will already be an experienced Advice Supervisor. However, we will consider this role as a development opportunity if you are already a qualified Generalist Adviser wanting to progress your career. You will need to have at least two years post qualification experience in delivering high quality generalist advice and casework and be able to demonstrate the potential to support others with varying levels of experience to do the same.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Communications and Campaigns Lead to deliver high-impact public communications and campaigns that strengthen Z2K’s profile, influence change and support our fundraising goals.

Working closely with the Director of Policy & Engagement and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of engaging communications and campaign activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You will also mobilise supporters and communities for in-person actions that amplify our campaigns and deepen public engagement.

About You

 You’ll be a skilled and creative communications and campaigns professional, with a track record of delivering high-impact, audience-focused content and activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You’re confident managing multiple priorities, spotting opportunities in a fast-moving external environment, and adapting messaging to maximise reach and impact. Experience of in person mobilisation would be an added advantage.

You’ll bring strong project management skills and enjoy working collaboratively across teams to produce clear, compelling communications that support fundraising, influence policy, and build public pressure. Whether it’s crafting supporter actions, writing stories that centre lived experience, or securing media coverage, you’ll be comfortable leading delivery while contributing ideas to wider strategic thinking.

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 40 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse?

The Role

We have an ambitious membership growth target of 20%. In order to achieve this we need to be setting up new groups across the UK at scale. We have recently changed our marketing approach and are able to generate high volumes of high-quality enquiries.  But we have lots of areas without groups or with groups who are full and not able to accept new members.  We therefore need someone to take charge of setting up new groups at scale, ensuring the process for doing so is robust and streamlined.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will manage the end-to-end new group set up process:

• Identify geographical location for new group – based on no existing groups in area, local groups being full and/or volunteer availability  
• Source local volunteers and work with them to get new groups up and running
• Help them to identify suitable venue and time for first meeting and free and low cost opportunities to promote new groups in local area
• Work with Social Media Assistants to execute local level organic digital outreach via community Facebook groups and websites
• Outreach to local social prescribers to encourage them to signpost to NWR
• Source volunteers to distribute printed marketing assets within local community
• Chair first meetings or (depending on location) recruit member volunteer(s) to do so

• Call referred enquirers to explain more about new group – try to convert them to attending first free meeting

• Agree details for first meeting and brief press release to CEO
• Manage the enquiry process for new groups or support volunteer in doing so
• Keep record of enquirers, meeting attendees and memberships of new groups and provide updates at weekly meeting and for Dashboard and HOD reports.
• As we are a small organisation, you may also be required to undertake work outside of this remit to support the HOD and Membership team in the smooth running of the organisation.

Women at the Well is a support service for women based in the King’s Cross area of central London. We provide practical support and advocacy to women facing a wide range of disadvantages, and we have a specialism in working with women whose lives have been affected by prostitution and/or sexual exploitation. We are trauma informed, holistic and woman-centred. We deliver our mission through three interconnected services:

• Work on a 7-day shift system
• Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding.

• Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise. 
• Provide training, mentoring and coaching to new recruits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• a degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work or a related discipline

• a proven record of working directly with vulnerable young people

The role focuses on building positive and supportive relationships with women and their children, empowering them to work towards their goals through a strengths-based approach. This includes creating, implementing, and reviewing personalized support plans in collaboration with service users and external agencies, while also advocating on their behalf when needed. Key responsibilities involve assisting mothers with parenting skills, signposting them to appropriate services, and offering targeted support to families facing issues such as domestic abuse. Ensuring the safeguarding of children and maintaining confidentiality at all times are central to the role, alongside working within relevant policies and procedures.
Additionally, the position emphasizes the importance of children's development and wellbeing by providing educational, recreational,
and interactive play opportunities both during term time and holidays. Service users and children are encouraged to actively participate in shaping projects through consultations, feedback, and creative engagement. Here's what the team will be looking for

The Charity

James’ Place works to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis. We are a charity offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts, but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families.  The first James’ Place opened in June 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK. In 2022 we opened a new centre in London and in early in 2023 we launched an appeal to raise over £10m to fund three more centres across the country. Our third centre opened in Newcastle at the beginning of 2024, and we are currently raising funds to open a James’ Place in Birmingham.  We have treated over 3,600 men in suicidal crisis to date.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our administration team during a time of growth and development across the charity. The successful candidate will take a key role in ensuring our operations and administration processes run as smoothly and efficiently as possible through central administration cover and project work.

Person Specification

You will be joining a small, dedicated, administration team at James’ Place and will regularly connect with the wider clinical and management teams. Whilst based within our London centre, your work will cross-cover all our centres and teams. This role requires someone with both excellent organisational and people skills with the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders including men in distress. Your administration skills will be vital, and you will be able to work with a broad range of IT, including shared Outlook inboxes and calendars. You will feel comfortable using the full Office 365 suite and have the necessary organisation skills to maintain the highest standards of record keeping.  You will support the wider teams to deliver our effective intervention, therefore an ability to work collaboratively is essential. You will be able to work proactively and have a high level of attention to detail.

Principal accountabilities of the role

Central Administration

· Covering daily administrative tasks and duties across all centres including:

· Being the first point of contact for referrers and men in distress, greeting visitors, answering the phone, booking appointments, and responding to email enquiries.

· Dealing with enquiries over email and telephone, scheduling/amending appointments and taking messages as required.

· Speaking to men in distress who have contacted the centre and, where appropriate, taking self-referrals over the phone.

· Processing referrals and maintaining accurate records at all times in line with our administrative procedures.

· Supporting users of the service to access information about other agencies.

· Maintaining a safe and tidy environment in all areas of the centre and monitoring/replenishing stocks.

· Completing electronic filing, shredding, and general office admin.

· Providing admin support to the wider team as required e.g. recording and sharing meeting minutes.

· Maintaining an effective appointment system ensuring all the resources at James’ Place are used efficiently.

· Recording and collating data to support the effective evaluation and monitoring of James’ Place.

· Providing occasional administrative support to the Centre Managers, Heads of Centre, and the Senior Management Team. 

· Treating every person who contacts us with respect and offering them support in line with our values, policies, and procedures.

· Following Health and Safety procedures around safety alarms, security, heating, lighting, electrical equipment, and lone working.
