Communications Assistant

About the Role

Since 2020, we’ve provided community-based, evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling, low-intensity interventions, group treatments, creative therapies, and social prescribing — all tailored to individual needs and age.

In this role, you will provide counselling that is adapted to ensure accessibility for autistic children and young people, as well as those with learning disabilities. This support will be offered to clients aged 4 to 25 who have a formal diagnosis.

We are recruiting a qualified counsellor, who has experience working with children and young people with autism and learning difficulties, delivering face to face counselling and carrying out assessments with young people to include working with high risk and complex issues. You will have a graduate or post-graduate level Counselling Diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience, CYP IAPT Autism Spectrum Conditions and Learning Disabilities, or CYP Psychological Therapies for autism and learning disabilities (renamed in 2025). You will also need to be BACP Registered/Accredited or registered with another recognised professional body (e.g. HPC, UKCP).

Role Summary

• The School Engagement Coordinator for Northern Ireland serves as a crucial liaison for the Into Film programme in the region. This role involves actively engaging with schools and educators to promote and support their participation in various initiatives related to film, games, and creative media.
• The Engagement Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring that schools and teachers have access to the full range of educational resources, training, and opportunities offered by Into Film. The Project Consultant will manage the delivery of the Legal Pro Bono Rwanda (LPBR) project in Rwanda, implemented by A4ID and funded by Clifford Chance Foundation. Working closely with the A4ID team in the UK and partner organisations in Rwanda, this role will ensure all project activities are delivered on time and on budget and in line with A4ID’s overarching strategy and specific strategy for Rwanda. You will also support any other ongoing projects in the region and will play an active role in fundraising to support activities and project development for Rwanda and broader A4ID activities. The Consultant will also work closely with A4ID’s regional office in Kenya. You will also be driving fundraising in the region.

Main duties:

· Preparation for, delivery of and pack down of drop-ins including cleaning, food and drink preparation and room layout.

· Completing relevant administrative tasks including writing case notes and sending reminders to women.

· To provide practical support, including supporting women with making phone calls and filling in forms, applying for grants, accompanying women to appointments and meetings, researching information, signposting and advocacy-style support.

· By drawing on your own Christian faith, to offer Christian support to women, within the Christian culture and ethos of OTF.  This may take place in group or one-to-one settings.

· Providing goal based one-to-one support for clients and supporting with applications, referrals and other needs identified

· Meeting the practical needs of our clients by supporting with food and distribution of essential items

· Identifying any wellbeing or safeguarding needs that need further action or support

We are looking for an experienced People Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis. This role offers a great opportunity to join a small busy team providing an excellent administrative service to support the People and Governance team and Bristol SU as a whole. 

Reporting directly to the People Manager, this is a dual-administration role, which requires a candidate to be confident and willing to handle both general, and payroll-related administration, for which full training will be provided. For clarity, the payroll administration aspect of the role does not involve any specialist payroll processing, the requirement is to collate basic payroll-related information accurately from within our people systems to send on to a payroll provider for processing.

The role requires an individual with excellent attention to detail, good communication, sound time management skills, as well as having an approachable, flexible and can-do attitude to work.  Strong skills in basic Excel are also required for the role.  We are seeking an experienced Administrator who is self-motivated, highly organised and who, once trained, will work on their own initiative.
