Children North East is a growing charity, working to ensure that all babies, children and young people have the opportunity to grow up happy and healthy. The charity as a whole has been through a transformative restructure and due to this transformation the charity has grown substantially since 2019. Our Operational area will be led by two Directors an Operations Director and an Operations Development Director.
The current Operations Director has now been appointed internally as the Operations Development Director, this role will focus on system change including research, data, growth and further our development on specific pieces of work. This will include growing the demographics of children we work with to help us to meet their needs, changing reactionary work into intervention work and will lead on the following:
• CNE voice work – supporting babies children and young people to have a voice in the work that we do at CNE.
• Developing, implementing and leading on our training offer – in house online packages.
• Leading on new operational developments – research, scoping, pilots and evaluation.
• Driving forward our current work – regionally and nationally – stakeholder engagement, scoping new geographical areas for
development actively selling our work.
• Influencing and campaigning – working alongside policy/campaigning led by CNE, influencing external networks and systems.
The Operations Director will ensure that our current and future strategies will enable us to meet our ambitions. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive the charity forward in meeting the end of its current 5 year strategy and be part of the development of the next 5 year strategy. You will create good working relationships with your senior leaders and Operational Leads and you will have a whole charity approach to the work required.
This role will Lead our Operational Leads to deliver the excellent services that sit within their portfolios including the following teams:
• Therapeutic including Counselling

• Poverty Proofing
The Operations Director role will ensure the income, safety and quality of our services are delivered to the highest standards. With key leadership qualities, this role will ensure the sustainability of our services and work collaboratively with SLT to reach its ambitions of our current and future strategies. There will be specific collaboration with the Operations Development Director to ensure that once our seed and pilot work is established it is moved forward into Operations within the charity to benefit all of the people we work with. We are recruiting a full-time Funding Officer working across Birmingham & Solihull on a fixed term contract up until December 2024.
You’ll be part of a team of 6, led by two Funding Managers and working alongside 3 other full time Funding Officers, as part of The Birmingham & Solihull patch which works within a larger Midlands team.
Ideally you will live in or near to Birmingham and have an excellent knowledge of the city. There is a permanent, part time Funding Officer opportunity to come and join our North East and Cumbria Regional team. The role is for 25.5 hours per week covering the area of Cumbria.
The role of a Funding Officer is both challenging and rewarding with no two days the same. You will be expected to spend time developing your knowledge of and relationships in the communities that you are responsible for to try to understand the challenges they face and how our funding can make a real difference to help communities to thrive.
You will be responsible for assessing and presenting funding applications to our Reaching Communities programme, supporting community groups, making connections with important stakeholders e.g. CEO’s of LA’s, MP’s, Mayors and representing the fund at a wide variety of events including funding fairs and networking events.
You will often be the first point of call for potential applicants and will need to be resilient, diplomatic, supportive and assertive in equal degrees. As the outward facing representation of the fund you will need to have good people skills, good communication skills and be professional in a wide variety of different situations. You will have to assess applications and present these to the rest of the regional team at various panels. You will certainly have to be strong enough to say “no” as we always have more applications than funding available.
We are looking for people who have good knowledge and understanding of the third sector and the challenges it faces. You will need capable IT skills, the ability to learn new processes and procedures (including bespoke software). You may have to travel throughout the region and, on occasions, have to stay away overnight and work unsociable hours.
Ideally you will live in Cumbria. The use of car is desirable.

The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.
We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.
Main duties and Responsibilities
- Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
- Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
- Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
- Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
- Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
- Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
- Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.
- Fully understand the charity’s projects and activities to both ascertain their suitability as funding propositions and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders.

Context of the role.

Southwark Law Centre (SLC) is recruiting a new Executive Director.
The Executive Director will work with the Trustee Board to develop and implement the strategic vision for the Law Centre and oversee its day to day operational management.
SLC offers a specialised referral service for advocacy and advice in complex and difficult cases. Supporting Tenants to achieve independence within a supported housing scheme by working closely with outside agencies. To ensure that Tenant’s mental and physical health needs are being supported, keeping Tenants safe in their own environment.
Complete statutory building safety checks and support the Team with accurate reporting of repairs.
To work in a small team but with the capability of communicating well with internal departments, and outside agencies to deliver excellent holistic support for Tenants.

As a Regional Outreach Officer, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, supporting and working alongside beneficiaries across Devon and Cornwall, providing advice, guidance and advocacy support to achieve outcomes that will have a positive impact on their lives.
Led by the Regional Lead Outreach, you will form part of the Outreach Devon and Cornwall team, working in collaboration with wider Outreach Service team members across the UK as required.
