LSO Discovery is seeking a proactive, creative, thoughtful and highly organised individual to manage and support projects within the Community programme. With creative communities sitting at the heart of the Arts Council England’s strategy, the role will be key to supporting the LSO’s strategic work in the community. Working across a range of projects, the role will allow for the individual to both support the Community Senior Projects Manager as well as take a lead on managing a few of their own projects. The programme areas covered in this role include:

1.  Inclusion: through LSO Create, delivering creative sessions for neurodiverse, disabled and non-disabled adults, as well as access to LSO open rehearsals and planning/delivery of the Relaxed Lunchtime concert series at LSO St Luke’s.
2.   Health and Wellbeing: 
   • Hospitals programme delivered in partnership with NHS trusts, including projects with children, parents, older adults and NHS staff.
   • Older Adults: LSO Connect brings communities together through creative music-making, offering opportunities for sharing stories and musical exploration in a positive, creative and kind environment, with the intention of reducing loneliness and social isolation.
3. Families: workshop programmes and concerts for Families with Under 5s, both at LSO St Luke’s and with children’s centres and Islington-based early years service provider Bright Start. 

The role sits within the wider LSO Discovery team, and reports to the LSO Community Senior Projects Manager.

We are looking for someone with the following experience:

• A minimum of two to three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an arts organisation
• Experience of managing or administering education or participatory projects 
• A strong commitment to music learning and participation
• A commitment to and interest in developing the music sector’s commitment to diversity and inclusion  
• An understanding of the requirements of working with vulnerable participants, with a friendly and flexible approach to communicating and supporting them
• Experience in the practical application of Safeguarding and Health and Safety best practice, particularly in relation to working with children, young people and vulnerable people

About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisational skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload and will have experience of achieving key performance indicators, as set by the Operation managers and Deputy Head of Service.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals. We support staff to keep them safe within their role and you will lead on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team.

You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team. You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online. A driving license and use of a car are both essential as well as access to public transport. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

You will also enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships, focused on delivering the best service for vulnerable service users. You should be a confident presenter, and able to share the service and work we do to inform, educate and encourage notifications and referrals into the service.

New Art Exchange (NAE) is a pioneering creative space in Hyson Green, Nottingham. We’re the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority. We set out to reshape the contemporary art narrative by championing diversity and inclusivity and by providing a platform for underrepresented voices in the art world. 

Purpose of the role

The Community and Participation Manager will be a key member of NAE’s Neighbourhood’s team, responsible for ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of community projects and events that engage and inspire our local communities (predominantly from the Global Ethnic Majority). Based from within NAE’s purpose built creative space, in the heart of one of Nottingham’s most diverse areas - Hyson Green, the post holder will work with local community partners, schools and other key stakeholders to ensure the community programme is representative of the diverse voices from our local communities and has their involvement through all that we do.

Main duties of the role

With strategic oversight from the Head of Neighbourhood develop and deliver a diverse range of activity with and for the community including (but not limited to) workshops, festivals, conferences, and functions, ensuring they are aligned with NAE’s overall vision, goals and budget.

Supporting the Head of Neighbourhoods to identify and secure external funding opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships to support the events when required.

Act as lead contact with key stakeholders, including community groups, schools, partners, citizen panels, artists, vendors, and local authorities, to ensure smooth collaboration and communication.

Support the Comms team to develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to raise awareness of projects and events with a focus on attracting diverse audiences.

Manage budgets and financial reporting for community projects, ensuring that expenses are within budget and that financial records are accurate and up to date. In line with the overarching Neighbourhoods strategy, develop project plans, budgets, and timelines and maintain accurate records.

Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and obtain necessary permits and licenses.

Lead project staff (including contracting and acting as project manager and day to day contact for them) which will consist of freelancers, contractors, and volunteers.

Track progress, address issues, and produce reports and evaluations for internal and external stakeholders, including NAE’s Senior Management Team and local community leaders.

You’ll be maintaining NMC’s existing events calendar, as well as having the autonomy to develop the calendar further and put your own stamp on it. You’ll also be managing our community fundraising income, which includes individual giving, lottery, working with local groups and supporting individuals with their own fundraising activities. You will be developing and building relationships with new and existing supporters to maximise fundraising potential, as well as recruiting and managing volunteers from all walks of life.

We’re looking for someone with previous fundraising experience, with the ambition to take this to new levels. This is a really immersive role, working with the charity's supporters and donors, while at the same time being based where the charity operates. The Community Engagement Manager is a pivotal new role in the delivery of our refreshed strategy. Too many of the people who would benefit most from walking outdoors face significant barriers – they are under-represented in the Ramblers and the outdoors community. Ramblers has several projects at different stages of development and delivery to begin to address this, but we are aware there is a considerable body of theory and practice in public and charity sectors on outreach to excluded communities that could help us achieve our goals. 

We are looking for a professional with considerable experience in this area who can help us create a common approach to our outreach and engagement work that builds on our existing experience and incorporates wider best practice.

The role

1. To bring into the Ramblers expertise and best practice on approaches to community outreach and engagement from across the voluntary and public sectors.
2. To establish and deepen relationships with excluded communities, particularly lower IMD communities in existing and future pilot areas.
3. To support and advise project leaders within the Ramblers across GB who are engaging a range of excluded groups and audiences including refugees and asylum seekers, global majority communities, lower IMD communities, LGBTQI communities and people who are neurodivergent or have disabilities.
4. To collaborate with other project leads working with excluded communities within the Ramblers, to build consensus about a common approach or toolkit and to help develop, document, and implement this approach.
5. To help initiate and support partnerships with other national organisations working with excluded groups, including lower IMD communities – particularly those organisations looking to boost physical activity, involvement in the outdoors or the appreciation of nature.
6. To support funder relationships by contributing to bid development and reporting, including for Sport England and the National Lottery Community Fund.
7. To support efforts to build wider awareness across staff and volunteers at the Ramblers about what successful outreach and engagement with excluded groups looks like.
8. To help raise the Ramblers profile as an organisation that is supporting those who face the greatest barriers to getting outdoors.
9. To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of the postholder by the Ramblers.

The person 

Knowledge and Experience 

• Good knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of outreach/engagement with excluded communities.
• Experience of best practice in the delivery of community outreach/engagement, ideally in a variety of settings including lower IMD neighbourhoods.

• Experience of delivering public health, sport and physical activity, or nature-connectedness programmes in partnership with local communities and organisations.
• Experience of working with the voluntary sector, volunteers and ideally membership organisations.
• Experience of assessing and managing risk in relation to physical activities, or a willingness to learn.

Skills and Leadership 

• Experience of working with others in a leadership or co-ordination role to develop and implement new ways of working.
• Strong facilitation and training skills.
• Ability to lead group walks in a way that is enjoyable, engaging and safe for all participants.

Qualification [desirable]

• Walk Leadership qualification (e.g. Lowland Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader) – or ability to work towards one.
• Outdoor first aid qualification – or ability to work towards one.

• The ability to engage people and partners regardless of background.

• Commitment to the principles of inclusion and enabling everyone to feel welcome in the outdoors.
• Ability to travel within England (including initially Plymouth, West Midlands and Liverpool) regularly, and to Wales or Scotland as required.
• An active and demonstrable interest in walking and engaging people with the outdoors would be a significant advantage.

As the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a central role in developing and implementing MK SNAP’s marketing strategies, with a primary focus on events and community fundraising initiatives. You will be responsible for creating engaging campaigns that raise awareness, drive participation, and generate support for MK SNAP. The role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively utilise the full marketing mix to achieve our aim of providing an exemplary education setting for our learners.

Six Months Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Flexible work location within Greater Manchester

As Strategic Lead (Cancer & Inequalities) you’ll continue our work with GM Cancer to achieve a permanent reduction in inequalities and inequity within Greater Manchester, addressing the social, environmental, and economic determinants of health and wellbeing, with the aim of ensuring active VCSE participation.

This role will suit someone with a passion for improving the health and wellbeing of people, for tackling health inequalities, and who enjoys working in fastmoving and complex systems. To be successful you’ll need experience of supporting a strategic partnership; developing proposals and funding models; and influencing at a senior level.
