Salford CVS (Community and Voluntary Services) is the city-wide infrastructure service for the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector. We support almost 1,000 VCSE groups and organisations in Salford, with 7,000 paid staff and 62,000 volunteers between them. Dividing your time between our volunteering and emergency response activities, you will assist us in building active, connected and resilient communities within Salford. In particular, you will go the extra mile to develop local capacity to address civil contingencies ranging from major incidents to extreme weather as you:
- Reach out to, engage and train community response volunteers.
- Proactively identify opportunities for new projects and initiatives.
- Connect with local authority, health, police and housing partners.
- Embed learning trends and best practice across our volunteering work.
- Lead a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise group within the Salford Local Resilience Forum.

- Experience of working with volunteers, ideally embracing recruitment, training and management.
- Familiarity with building relationships within the VCSE sector.

Responsibilities of our Community Veterinary Surgeon:
- To support the Chief Veterinary Officer in the development and delivery of veterinary services throughout the Charity with specific responsibility for the South West/Wales and the West Midlands.
- Support centre and volunteer site management through visits, conferences, and meetings to ensure effective operations and adherence to veterinary and welfare standards.
- Collaborate with the Chief Veterinary Officer and other vets to develop and implement unified policies for cat welfare, treatment, and homing, with Trustee approval.

- Provide veterinary-related support and guidance to centres, volunteer sites, regional vets, the complaints department, and the Helpline.
About the Community Veterinary team:
- We are a team of 4 Community Veterinary Surgeons who are all regionally based providing veterinary advice to the Cats Protection network across the UK
- The Community Veterinary Surgeons report into the Senior Community Veterinary Manager
- We are all remote workers but successfully support each other through weekly catch-up meetings, in-person meetings and a strong team ethos of collaboration and case discussion
- We support many other teams across the organisation involved in the welfare of our cats in care. These teams include our operational colleagues, the cat welfare team and our team of regional behaviourists
What we’re looking for in our Community Veterinary Surgeon:
- Experience of working in small animal veterinary practice with associated shelter/charity experience
- Sound, current knowledge of feline medicine, contextualised care, animal welfare, veterinary medicines legislation
- Degree in veterinary medicine
- Must be currently registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to practice in the UK
- Able to work accurately and under pressure

Job Title: Support Mentor

You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service. The role includes:
- Supporting residents with daily tasks

- Encourage residents to take part in activities and events
- Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis

This post will be based in the local voluntary sector infrastructure organisation - Torbay Communities, hosts of the Community Helpline.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead this nationally recognised and acclaimed innovation. Torbay’s Community Helpline was established during the Covid pandemic and has since been developed by the local community into a central access point to the voluntary and community sector as a whole. Since 2021, it has also been the front door for new Adult Social Care referrals in the area through a unique partnership with the local statutory sector. Providing the best possible support to local residents the Helpline’s strapline ‘One Call – That’s All’ sums up the holistic approach. Individuals and families can access a wide range of support from food parcels to mental health support, help with isolation to debt advice etc. The Helpline links into over 100 voluntary sector organisations locally and into grassroots networks of residents offering support to each other. The Helpline has a strengths-based approach to its operations, with callers often helping others after they have received some support.
We are looking for someone who can lead this initiative into the next phase. The new role of Community Organiser: Community of St Paulinus at Sheffield Cathedral plays a key role in establishing the Cathedral as a resourcing church, partnering with parishes in the inclusive catholic tradition and embedding community organising principles across our parish partnerships and the Cathedral itself. Community organising is not simply a method but a core discipline in this initiative — shaping how relationships are built, leaders are developed, and action is taken for the common good. Through this approach, the Cathedral and its partners will contribute to the founding of Sheffield Citizens and work collaboratively for justice and human flourishing across the region. At the heart of the resourcing project will be a new non-residential mission community called the Community of St Paulinus (CsP). Although based at the Cathedral, notably in the rhythm of prayer, the CsP will be deployed in contextual mission with parish partners. Working closely with the Prior and Sub-Prior, the community organiser will be responsible for integrating community organising practices into our missional approach and supporting others as they seek to do the same.
The Community Organiser will work with the CsP and the Project Resource Team - an agile group comprising a Project Manager, Fundraiser and Digital Evangelist - to provide practical and strategic support for missioners and parish partners engaged in parish revitalisation and the planting of new worshipping communities.

We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to deliver and develop services for Young Carers aged 5–16. The role involves three key parts. The first is delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and give Young Carers a break from their responsibilities. The second is providing one-to-one support to help Young Carers manage challenges, access services, and prioritise their mental and emotional wellbeing. The third is leading outreach to identify and engage hidden Young Carers.
About The Role:
You will work across two key age groups, 5–11 and 12–16, delivering and supervising activities, supporting events and trips, and providing behavioural management where needed. Alongside group activities, you will offer one-to-one support to individual Young Carers, ensuring they feel heard, included, and supported as they navigate the challenges of their caring roles. You will also deliver awareness training sessions, run stalls, and build partnerships in the community to identify and engage Young Carers.
This is a part-time post (3 days per week). The regular days will be Wednesday - Friday, However flexibility is required, with regular evening and occasional weekend work.

About the Role
As Young People Support Worker you will work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported accommodation. You will have a caseload of 5 clients aged 18-25, in a supported accommodation in Twickenham.
You will mostly lone work, with the Service Manager and Senior Progression Coach working from the office once a week each on average.
You may be required to work from our offices with the rest of the team in Lambeth/Croydon once a month as the business need arises or for training.
Key responsibilities:
· Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients at all times, following safeguarding and emergency procedures as required.
· Hold a caseload as key worker, taking joint responsibility with the team for day-to-day client support.
· Lead on risk and needs assessments, develop SMART outcomes-based support plans, and review regularly.
· Deliver one-to-one and group support to build resilience and independence, both on site and in the community.
· Work in partnership with external agencies and involve clients in decision-making and community activities.
· Support clients to access education, training, employment, volunteering and benefit entitlements.
· Contribute to a safe, welcoming environment including rota cover, health and safety checks and move-in support.

About the role
With your own caseload of families, you will act as their key worker within our Family Service and support homeless and poorly housed families to defend their right to a decent home. Your primary focus will be on households where some tailored interventions are required around the needs of the children in order to stabilise their housing situation and enable the family to thrive.
Accordingly, you will provide intensive, tailored support as part of a whole family approach in a 1-2-1 setting and through group work. You will also need to regularly visit clients’ homes, schools and community venues across the city and liaise with other agencies in the community in order to provide a co-ordinated service.
About you
You have knowledge of child development and a strong understanding of homeless children and families, with experience of supporting parents, children and young people who have complex needs. You also have knowledge of housing, homelessness and ASB legislation and welfare benefits that affect families and the skills to network and gather information as well as advocacy, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have worked within, or understand, a safeguarding framework, are IT literate and have experience of managing a caseload and can prioritise, organise and set boundaries. With a full driving licence, you will have access to a vehicle for work purposes, an allowance and mileage will be paid.
