About the role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help deliver SSAFA volunteer support to the serving community.

You will work closely with the Serving Community Manager to develop SSAFA’s support to the serving community through its volunteer delivered Serving Community Teams and the Community Volunteering Service.

Your role will be to ensure a safe and quality service is delivered by volunteers, and support them from the recruitment and induction stage through to becoming a fully trained volunteer.  

You will monitor and review the service, providing feedback on progress and areas of concern as well as statistical data to the Serving Community Manager.

In addition, you will provide support and supervision to Community Volunteers and ensure robust recording and handling of beneficiary data in line with SSAFA’s policies and procedures.

About the team

You will be part of a small innovative team working together to plan and deliver SSAFA’s support to the serving community, rolling out services which will assist volunteers in helping beneficiaries. You will work with all departments across SSAFA and with external stakeholders to raise awareness of the needs and challenges of the serving community and how SSAFA can help.

About you

We are looking for a highly organised individual to deliver volunteering support to the serving community. You will have a good understanding of the unique issues that the serving Armed Forces community may experience, and knowledge and experience of the charitable sector.

You will have experience of managing volunteers, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish working relationships quickly.

As a proactive and motivated individual, you will have good project management skills in order to prioritise your time, and plan and deliver an exciting new services to the serving community.

The role of Personal Assistant (PA) is a key opportunity to work alongside and support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) as they lead Church Army forward. The SLT comprises the CEO and three Executive Directors with multiple demands on their time and multiple responsibilities so a PA who can help them work efficiently and effectively is really important. The PA is a trusted and valued colleague who can assist the SLT maximise the impact of their time.

To perform well in this role, you need to be someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and able to engage confidently and effectively with a range of people. The PA works closely with the SLT and will be handling confidential information, so the role requires someone who understands the importance of confidentiality, works with discretion, and always acts professionally. You will need excellent organisation skills and consider what information the SLT need to make the best use of each meeting and event. You should be able to manage busy diaries and multiple projects and tasks have a flexible approach prioritising and responding to requests as they present.

This role sits within our Co.Lab team which refers to the team of people whose roles have an operational focus on facilitating the work of CA across the UK and Ireland. The team come together at regular times over the year to develop connection, collaboration and community to help us better serve the wider Church Army community. The role

We’re seeking a Senior Events Manager to join our dynamic and high-achieving Events team!

Following the success of our Charity of the Year partnership at the 2025 London Marathon, it’s a really exciting time to lead the team forward. Key areas of the role are:

• To lead the team to meet income targets through the delivery of an engaging Events portfolio
• To lead the development and implementation of plans, marketing materials, multi-channel campaigns and supporter journeys for Event participants
• To Manage and inspire the Events Managers and wider team

Overview of the Post

The Community Projects Lead is a member of the youth and community team, leading the delivery of a wide array of community projects across GM, ensuring quality delivery and sustainability of the work.

Delivery

· Lead the delivery of a wide array of projects across Greater Manchester including:

- environmental, climate, nature focused projects

- community engagement and development

- community capacity building, including building confidence and skills

- community outreach to support Groundwork’s services to reach their target audiences

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and steward relationships with these, overseeing and building a strategy to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
• Be line managed by Resurgo on Spear Programme performance and ongoing operations of the centre, and report back on KPIs

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme

OVERALL, PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Night and Weekend Manager role is to ensure the effective management and operation of MPMT’s housing projects in Southeast London, focusing on promoting the safety, well-being, and personal development of children and young female residents. This includes providing strong leadership to a team of night and weekend support workers, ensuring high service delivery standards, and fostering collaborative relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders. The role is instrumental in delivering emotional and practical support to residents, overseeing efficient project operations, and enforcing organisational policies to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that empowers residents to thrive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

• Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and good practices.

• Ensure health and safety procedures are fully implemented, organise regular fire drills, and ensure all emergency procedures are understood.

• Efficiently manage evening, night, and weekend operations at Tressillian Road (TR) and Erlanger Road (ER).

Team Management and Supervision

• Supervise staff in frontline duties.

• Lead and supervise Night and Weekend Supervisors (NWS), ensuring adherence to HR policies.

• Conduct regular meetings with direct reports for supervision and support, handling disciplinary or performance issues as needed.

• Oversee the induction and training of new staff, residents, and volunteers and participate in team appraisals.

• Co-manage recruitment procedures with the Senior Operations Manager, including the interview process.

• Monitor and coordinate staff leave and sickness absence, and maintain team records using BrightHR.

Resident Support

• Participate in annual safeguarding training for children and adults and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 3) during on-call and on-site periods.

• Provide emotional and practical support to residents in distress, fostering development and independence.

• Coordinate the organisation of workshops and events, integrating resident suggestions and feedback.

• Maintain contact with residents absent for extended periods without notice and facilitate welcome visits while adhering to GDPR and safeguarding rules.

Service Delivery

• Oversee the quality of support and housing services at TR and ER, maintaining rental accounts, minimising arrears, and managing terms of Licence Agreements.

• Manage complex issues or tenancy breaches.

• Lead control of voids and rent arrears and ensure new residents are effectively inducted.

• Conduct risk assessments for building and fire safety, supervise repairs, and manage reception duties.

• Ensure the completion of necessary training for all team members, including de-escalation, and handle sensitive situations professionally.

Partnership Development

• Cultivate and manage partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, and contractors to support service delivery.

• Develop new partnerships as required, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Administrative Duties

• Assist with monitoring staff rota, cover arrangements, and update internal MIS systems like INFORM.

• Handle basic rent account management tasks and assist building management at TR and ER when required.

• Ensure management decisions are executed effectively, participating in policy reviews and suggesting improvements.

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be part of a team helping to transform lives by enabling young people to manage their licenses and move towards greater independence within the community. This role requires knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GENUINE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, it is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) that the post holder is female. This requirement is essential for the role due to the following reasons:

1. Privacy and Dignity: The role involves working closely with female residents during sensitive hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) where privacy and dignity are paramount. Female residents may feel uncomfortable or distressed receiving support from a male/male presenting worker during these times, especially in situations involving personal care or emotional vulnerability.

2. Safety and Trust: Many of the residents may have experienced trauma, including domestic violence or abuse, often perpetrated by males. The presence of a female manager helps create a safe and supportive environment where these individuals can feel secure and trust the support being provided

The Development and Advocacy Department are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy team on a permanent basis. Reporting to one of the Senior Philanthropy Managers, in this role you will manage a number of philanthropic relationships and make a significant contribution to the team through developing new initiatives and growing the portfolio.

The ideal candidate profile for this post will be a team player, with the following credentials:

• An established track record in philanthropy or fundraising for major organisations
• Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of high value relationships with experience of personally securing significant gifts
• Ability to think strategically to devise relevant engagement and cultivation plans and identify opportunities for approaches to prospects
• A balance of experience and innovation to be able to develop new ideas and launch new initiatives successfully
• Credibility as an ambassador in the area of philanthropy, able to work effectively at senior levels and liaise with high-net-worth individuals
• Strong project management skills, with demonstrable experience of solving complex problems, drawing on given resources and collaborative working

A working knowledge of our repertoire is not a pre-requisite for this role but the ability to upskill quickly in our art forms in order to confidently speak to prospective donors is essential.

As Fundraising Manager you will have a clear vision for implementing fundraising plans to develop current and new income streams, maximising the effectiveness of our fundraising programme. You will play a key role in delivering Dorset County Hospital Charity's fundraising programme, as part of a small, collaborative team raising funds from a range of sources including events, challenges, corporate, grants, community fundraisers and individual giving.

Responsibility for development and implementation of strategies to retain current and acquire new supporters; as well as the ability to provide excellent stewardship for donors and fundraisers. Key responsibilities include, raising significant income in line with business plan targets. This includes the Charity’s current £2.5M Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. Building strong relationships with the Hospital Board and Executive team, Charitable Funds Committee and hospital staff. Establish and manage productive relationships with donors, fundraisers and other supporters. Deliver an emotive case for support and effective income generation programme. Ensure Dorset County Hospital Charity maintains a high profile, that is clear and consistent, throughout the organisation and wider local community.

About this role

As a Communications Manager your responsibilities would include: -    

1. Lead, inspire and manage the Communications team to raise the profile of Carers First with multiple audiences and awareness of the issues affecting carers 
2. Develop our digital offer across England to expand our reach and engagement with carers online, helping them to access timely and relevant information.
3. Support the wider Carers First team with the promotion and delivery of projects and events to strengthen our offer and services for carers. 
4. Work with the Director of Income and Engagement, and the wider fundraising team, to support campaigns, events and marketing approaches that increase Carers First’s voluntary income and wider donor engagement
5. Effectively develop and manage a range of stakeholder relationships to deliver the Communications Plan.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

Leadership and management 

• At least 3 years of experience in a senior communications position, ideally within the charity or public sectors

• Proven ability to manage both strategy and delivery programmes, balancing long-term objectives with operational priorities
• Superb manager with the proven ability to inspire, motivate, support and lead staff to thrive and create a high performing team and measurable results.

Communications and stakeholder engagement 

• Proven experience of developing and delivering marketing and/or communications plans 

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Skilled copywriter able to communicate messages in a clear and engaging way

IT and digital experience  

• Experience using Canva or similar accessible content creation tools, with an eye for strong visual design and brand consistency
• Ability to simplify systems and processes, particularly spreadsheet-based workflows
• Experience using CRM systems, analytics tools, email marketing software, and social media platforms

Fundraising and project management 

• Previous experience working in support of fundraising campaigns, or relevant marketing approaches 

• Project management experience: leading others to oversee and manage projects, events or campaigns.

• Supporting the Retail Manager in recruiting and managing volunteers and ensuring all staff and volunteers are following Marie Curie procedures and guidelines.
