About The Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our busy and growing team. That means we’re looking for someone who is friendly, confident, and enjoys building relationships. You’ll often need to make judgment calls, deciding when to deal with queries yourself and when to escalate them, so resilience and good problem solving skills are key. It’s also important that you’re comfortable communicating with people at all levels, from supporting colleagues in the team to liaising with senior stakeholders.

This role would suit someone with some prior experience in administration or marketing support who’s ready for a step up into a more varied and visible position. You will be contracted to our London hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the Hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site. We consider all flexible working requests, as we understand how important this is.

The Role

We have an ambitious membership growth target of 20%. In order to achieve this we need to be setting up new groups across the UK at scale. We have recently changed our marketing approach and are able to generate high volumes of high-quality enquiries.  But we have lots of areas without groups or with groups who are full and not able to accept new members.  We therefore need someone to take charge of setting up new groups at scale, ensuring the process for doing so is robust and streamlined.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will manage the end-to-end new group set up process:

• Identify geographical location for new group – based on no existing groups in area, local groups being full and/or volunteer availability  
• Source local volunteers and work with them to get new groups up and running
• Help them to identify suitable venue and time for first meeting and free and low cost opportunities to promote new groups in local area
• Work with Social Media Assistants to execute local level organic digital outreach via community Facebook groups and websites
• Outreach to local social prescribers to encourage them to signpost to NWR
• Source volunteers to distribute printed marketing assets within local community
• Chair first meetings or (depending on location) recruit member volunteer(s) to do so

• Call referred enquirers to explain more about new group – try to convert them to attending first free meeting

• Agree details for first meeting and brief press release to CEO
• Manage the enquiry process for new groups or support volunteer in doing so
• Keep record of enquirers, meeting attendees and memberships of new groups and provide updates at weekly meeting and for Dashboard and HOD reports.

About the Role:

The Nightstop Coordinator role is busy and varied role, it involves working with young people from when they approach the service to when they find longer term accommodation. You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all young people, assessing each young person’s needs and risks, finding short and long term housing options, organising the logistics of each Nightstop placement and making sure that each Nightstop placement is safe.

You will also lead on the promotion of the service with the aim of recruiting new Nightstop volunteers. The role will be based in the London office and cover referrals from young people in London.

Regional Community Organiser

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people 

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. 

Our services include Battersea Bites, Age Well and Core social activities and digital inclusion.

We work with people 50+ to: 

• Encourage active and independent living 

• Reduce isolation and loneliness 

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health 

• Engage members to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for this Role 

Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

Planning 

• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. 

• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.

• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.

• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.

• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves

• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme. 

Delivery 

• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget. 

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met 

• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary. 

• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service. 

• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)

• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas. 

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.

• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards 

• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS 

• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.

• Inform the Manager (or in their absence the Head of Service) of any concerning incidents, compliments, complaints or accidents (including safeguarding issues).

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by quickly and calmly addressing kitchen challenges and ensuring smooth meal preparation under pressure.

• Take part in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme under the guidance of the Managers of the 50+ programme

• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure efficient meal service.

• To attend any relevant training sessions to ensure that you are fully equipped to perform your role effectively

• To actively assist in the continuation of our high food hygiene rating

• Have acquired or are willing to Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate

• Actively participate in meetings such as supervision and appraisals, and staff meetings. The manager reviews progress, reflects on goals, and completes agreed actions and tasks within set deadlines to support ongoing development and programme success.

Coordination of Battersea Bites Volunteers 

• Form and build positive working relationships with volunteers who work within Battersea Bites. 

• Take responsibility for coordinating individual volunteers and respond effectively to their feedback, and report any concerns to the Core Manager.

Person Specification 

Essential Experience & Skills

• Track record of catering and basic cooking
• Proven experience of working or volunteering with older and/or vulnerable people in community settings

This is a role for someone who loves email marketing and creativity. This role has a focus on building impactful emails (at RBL we use email platform Dotdigital) and is perfect for someone with an interest in analysing and continuously improving our communications to supporters. There is also plenty of variety within this role. The Supporter Care Coordinator role sits within the Supporter Experience team, whose goal is to ensure that all Scope supporters, whether they are giving time, money, or voice, have the best experience each time they interact with us.

The role

As Senior Community Fundraiser, you will play a key role in helping Scope achieve its mission to create a fairer society for disabled people. You will lead community fundraising across the North of the UK, developing inclusive and engaging programmes that empower local volunteers, community groups, and businesses to support our work.

You will:

· Develop and deliver Scope’s Community Fundraising strategy in the North, identifying opportunities that reflect the diversity of local communities.

· Build and nurture relationships with supporters, volunteers and stakeholders, ensuring everyone feels welcomed, valued and supported.

· Monitor and report on fundraising performance, helping to shape future plans and drive income growth.

· Collaborate with colleagues across Scope to ensure our fundraising activities are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with our values.

· Stay informed about sector trends and bring fresh, inclusive ideas to our fundraising approach.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Lead and work closely with teams across Fundraising, Brand and Marketing, Retail, and Services.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

· Has experience in fundraising and is passionate about engaging communities in meaningful ways.

· Is confident managing community fundraising programmes and volunteers, with strong organisational and project management skills.

· Brings creativity and innovation to fundraising, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

· Communicates clearly and respectfully, and builds inclusive relationships with people from all backgrounds.

· Understands the importance of accessibility, safeguarding, and compliance in community fundraising.

It would be great if you also have:

· An understanding of the social model of disability and the barriers disabled people face

· Experience working with external agencies or managing inclusive fundraising campaigns

· Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising software

· An interest in inclusive event management and supporter stewardship

About the role 

At the heart of our operations, our exceptional Regional Casework Coordinators serve as the primary point of contact for members of the armed forces community reaching out to our Regional Offices for support.

In this dynamic role, no two days are the same. You may be supporting individuals in distress over the phone, managing email and voicemail communications, collaborating with volunteers on complex casework, building strong relationships with local authorities and charitable organisations, or working closely with internal services to secure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support them. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensuring that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service.

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the East of England region in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, or Essex.

You will occasionally be required to travel around the region or further afield, to attend face to face meetings or training events.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. You will initially be required to attend an in-person caseworkers’ course which may require an overnight stay.

About the team 

Reporting to the Regional Casework Manager our Casework Coordinators, together with our Volunteer Caseworkers, work remotely within the regional office area.  With beneficiaries at the heart of everything we do, team members pride themselves in building and maintaining close working relationships to ensure the smooth operation of the office.  The wider regional support team includes a Regional Manager, Volunteer Development Manager and a Community Engagement Manager. 

About you 

To thrive in this role, you'll demonstrate composure and resilience, paired with genuine empathy and a strong commitment to supporting those in need.

Our beneficiaries are at the heart of everything we do. To support them effectively, you’ll need to be an attentive listener and a clear, compassionate communicator.

You will have experience of providing welfare support, especially on the telephone and an understanding of benefits, debt management, disability, homelessness, local authority provision or mobility would be a real benefit.  Understanding the way of life of today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and experience of working with volunteers would be a real advantage.

Knowledge of Safeguarding and GDPR is essential in this sensitive role as team members are responsible for recording and protecting personal data and reporting safeguarding concerns.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications is essential, and prior experience using a case management system would be highly advantageous.  It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

You’ll play a key role in delivering our community support activities to male survivors of sexual harms, working directly alongside our other services (including, therapy, ISVA, OUT Side OUT Spoken, OUT Spoken) to ensure that our clients receive quality assured care for their needs. You will also support our volunteer workforce and the provision of various advocacy requirements to survivors and their supporters.

Are you a driven and confident person, who relishes the challenge of working with local communities and groups who seldom seek support.  We are looking for a person who is determined to make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

You will be experienced in engaging and working with communities and a confident communicator with the ability to network with people across all levels.  You will be able to deliver community specific workshops and awareness sessions, working collaboratively with both internal and external colleagues.

You will cover the following areas:

- East Lancashire – Burnley, Blackburn, Darwen, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Pendle and Ribble Valley
- Central Lancashire – Preston, Chorley and Ormskirk
- North Lancashire – Lancaster, Blackpool and Fylde and Wyre
- South Lancashire – Kendall and Barrow-In-Furness

You will be able to manage your own projects and a small team of community volunteers, prioritising as you go. Whilst this is a homeworking role the majority of your time will be working out within the community and you will be required to regularly travel across Lancashire and South Cumbria. You must live within the Lancashire and South Cumbria area.

What you’ll focus on:

- Identify, engage, build and nurture relations with key stakeholders and influencers in each local community to ensure that dementia is a local priority.
- Develop an excellent understanding of the issues that prevent communities from engaging in dementia services and supporting the development of services to make them as inclusive as possible
- Develop and deliver community specific workshops and awareness sessions that make a positive impact for people living with dementia in their community.
- Recruitment and management of community volunteers to enhance and extend the reach of dementia services.

The Transformation Hub Manager will play a pivotal role in reshaping our service offerings by creating a vibrant, inclusive, and strengths-based hub for our communities - many of who are underserved, including asylum seekers, refugees, residents facing isolation, and those affected by homelessness.
