The Board of Trustees plays a vital role by steering and supporting the charity development. We are seeking to appoint a Chair or a Vice Chair. Nova New Opportunities is an educational charity based near Ladbroke Grove. As we ease out of London, we are looking for volunteers to help on day trips in and around London to support families in getting back to normality again.
Trips will include anything from horse riding through to the beach, farms and Kew Gardens. This is an opportunity to help families from marginalised communities while gaining experience of working with a small, friendly and supportive charity.
Volunteers will help the group leader to accompany groups of parents/guardians and their children on a variety of cultural/fun trips, helping to make them feel welcome.
Suitable volunteers will be reliable and sociable and enjoy working with children. Volunteers must be available for day trips during school holidays, as this is when most of the trips take place.

(iv) Fundraising & Marketing (F&M) Trustees Job List Creation & Release: Utilise the existing job contracts of the Fundraising & Marketing Trustees as well as their staff that they line manage to create a job list for the next month to be released on the 1st day of the next month. (vi) Charity Administrator Email Monitoring: Keep an eye on the charity administrator inbox and redirect the relevant emails to the appropriate trustee throughout the month. This is a bi-monthly rotatory role with your fellow charity administrator
(vii) Biannual Trustee Meeting + AGM: In December & June, Minute taking and contributing to the Trustee meetings. There will be round up admin time as well to finish the edits of the minutes post meeting.
(viii) Neurodiversity Youth Advocate Programme Student Recruitment: Work with the Head Trustee to contact schools via work email to recruit students into the Neurodiversity Youth Adovcate Programmes in either June or July (rotates between both Charity Administrators- one is June, other is July) and September (one will do this in 2026, the other in 2027).
(ix) Scheduled E-mail Task: In September-February Send our Post-16 Neurodiversity Youth Advocate scheduled emails with information of the upcoming week’s session details and MS Teams Link. This is a bi-monthly rotatory role with your fellow charity administrator
(x) Fundraising Work: Locating friends, family and colleagues to crowdfund for the charity in May

Shannon Trust fulfils an unmet need around adult learning, supporting people who’ve fallen through the cracks in formal education.
We know a lot of people have had negative learning experiences in the past, so our programme is designed to be different, with no exams and no classrooms. Our unique, evidence-based Turning Pages reading manuals are used by thousands of learners in prisons and the community to improve reading skills.
Prison volunteers live near to their local prison so that they can visit about once a month during the working week to nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by offering advice, guidance, training and support to prison staff and prisoner mentors who help other prisoners to improve their skills 1 to 1.
We are looking for volunteers who are able to work alone, able to give a regular, reliable commitment for ideally two years and able to deliver engaging training to groups of people in prisons. Due to the nature of the role, prison security vetting will be required.
We provide training for the role via e-learning and 4 training sessions which are a mix of live, online and group training.

Talkback UK is seeking a new Trustee with expertise in education, ideally within a Specialist Post-16 Institution, to join our Board. We are a charity dedicated to enabling people to live fulfilling lives through opportunities in learning, work, health, and community.
As a Trustee, you will bring knowledge and insight from the education sector – whether from schools, colleges, local authorities, or related fields – to help shape our strategy and strengthen our impact. You will play a key role in ensuring our programmes are relevant, ambitious, and responsive to the needs of the people we support.
We are looking for someone who:
· Understands the education landscape, particularly around SEND and lifelong learning.
· Can provide both support and constructive challenge at Board level.
· Shares our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
This is a voluntary role requiring attendance at four Board meetings a year (plus occasional subcommittee sessions). In return, you will join a passionate and supportive Board of Trustees, gain valuable governance experience, and contribute to changing lives for the better.
