What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments to suit you. You’ll be part of a team raising vital funds while having fun in the process!

• Since its creation, Quilombo UK has collected a great amount of information, evidence and items through projects, fundraisers, events etc.

• We are looking for a team member to find published materials related to Quilombo UK key objectives and interests, especially cultural and racial diversity, and stereotypes in UK communities. The materials include all types of evidence, articles, journals, newspaper columns, local and global news stories. 

• The researcher will help to collect information that can be used as an evidence base to help inform future activities, and also in exhibitions, workshops, and community events. 

• We are looking for a self-starter who can source, collect, and share relevant materials independently. You will also be working closely with our Professional Development Programme participants in relevant areas such as Marketing and PR.

• Provide written reports as and when required. To undertake additional duties as required for the role.

General tasks

• Contribute to staff meetings and other internal meetings with views and suggestions etc.

Essential:

• You will need to have good written skills and be able to explain concepts and projects concisely and accurately. 

• You will be self-starting and willing to research the various projects that we have carried out and catalogue all the evidence collected.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Combating Loneliness and Social Isolation across London and Beyond!

A charity  based in  Croydon, Surrey, London, UK is looking for volunteer Charity Volunteer Assistants; to volunteer 30 unpaid hours per week. The Charity serves a multi ethnic community especially people from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds. 

Responsibilities:

• To assist in the delivery of events (ours and those we are invited to), projects and our yearly summer community event.
• To assist in the daily collection and drop off of Greggs after day produce to various soup kitchens
• To assist in promotion of organisations services. eg flyer distribution, school workshops, etc.

Person Specification:

Ealing Foodbank is looking for Trustees. We would particularly welcome applications from those with experience in one (or more) of the following areas: fundraising and communication.

Who we are

Ealing Foodbank is a local charity, serving people in Ealing who need emergency food. We are open 8 times a week at 7 locations around Ealing. We give out around 1300 food parcels a month. We want to make sure people visiting the foodbank get the right help to resolve their crises where possible. We work together with Crosslight advice (debt and benefit advice) and Ealing Law Centre (housing and benefit advice) to achieve this.

Being a trustee

As a trustee you can use your skills to contribute towards supporting those in crisis in our local community.

As Trustee you will be expected to:

• Understand and support Ealing Foodbank’s work and aims
• Reflect our vision, values, strategy and policies
• Work closely with the rest of the board to formulate and review our strategic aims
• Ensure our policies and practices are in line with our aims

• Ideally you will organise 1 event every 1-2 months

If you’re excited by the prospect of leading and organising effective actions at a local level, all while making a genuine difference to animals, this is the role for you.

You will be supported directly by THL staff members who will steward you throughout your time with us, including a full onboarding process to get you started. No prior experience is needed and we’ll give you everything you need to build your skills and take action.

There is no set time commitment for this role, all we ask is that you can organise at least 1 event every 1-2 months. On average, it takes around 4-6 hours to deliver an event (including planning and delivery).

Role Overview: We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Trainee Coaches to join our team and support the delivery of roller sports sessions across multiple venues in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young people, developing their coaching skills, and gaining hands-on experience in a community sports setting. The role provides valuable practical experience alongside mentoring and training, ideal for anyone considering a future in sports coaching, youth work, or education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Lead Coaches in delivering fun, inclusive roller sports sessions.

• Assist participants in developing fundamental skating skills and confidence.

• Help with the set-up and pack-down of equipment at sessions.

• Provide encouragement and positive feedback to participants.

• Maintain a safe environment by following health and safety guidelines.

• Take part in training and mentoring to build your skills.

• Act as a positive role model, promoting inclusion, respect, and enjoyment.

• Engage with participants, parents, and staff in a friendly, professional manner.

Person Specification: Essential:

• Enthusiasm for sport, coaching, and working with young people. 

• Willingness to learn and develop roller sports and coaching skills.

• Good communication and teamwork skills. • Reliable, punctual, and able to travel to different venues as required.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including after-school sessions and occasional weekends.

• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and health and safety.

• Possession of a valid Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting).

Desirable:

• Intermediate or advanced roller skating skills.

• Experience working with children or young people in a community or sports setting.

• A recognised sports coaching qualification (any sport considered).

What You’ll Do

As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in the charity’s success by:

• Overseeing our finances – ensuring we are financially healthy and legally compliant

• Working with our CEO and Accountant – to review budgets, financial plans and monthly reports

• Supporting the board – by explaining financial information in an accessible way and guiding strategic decisions

• Chairing our Finance Subcommittee – held once every 12 weeks

• Ensuring good financial governance – making sure systems are in place for managing our income and spending

• Helping plan for sustainability – offering insight into full-cost recovery, funding gaps and long-term planning

Who We’re Looking For

We’re open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds – you may be a retired finance professional, someone in a leadership or strategic role, or looking for a first trustee position with a cause that matters to you.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Financial literacy and confidence with numbers

• Experience managing budgets, interpreting accounts or overseeing finances

• Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and a collaborative style

• An interest in supporting families and giving children the best start in life

Previous experience as a trustee is helpful but not essential.
