The role of the Treasurer is to provide financial expertise and direction to the board of Trustees. The Treasurer’s aim is to oversee and scrutinise financial information to enable the board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the nia.

The Treasurer will ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations and to make sure that the organisation pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.

The Treasurer’s role is also to work in partnership with the Chief Executive and Director of Finance helping them achieve the aims of the organisation and maintain fiscal health, accountability and stability.

Volunteer Classroom Assistant (Online) – English, Maths, Science

Purpose of role: 

Support the Nova Family Programme tutors in facilitating online home school sessions.

Role Description: 

This role will be to act as a teaching assistant to tutors delivering online English, maths and science classes (for young people at Key Stage 2 and 3). With the disruption of Covid-19, many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. We are delivering a free programme of online home school support to those who have been most negatively impacted by being out of school. Now that Schools have reopened, we will be continuing these sessions to ensure that learners do not fall behind as Schools focus on catching up on lost learning. The aim is to support children who may be falling behind with their studies and mitigating as far as possible the widening attainment gap. 

You will:

We are FARA. We have been around for over 30 years and have 39 Charity Shops across London. Our Chiswick Kids store has an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to come and help us. We are Buttons & Bubbles C.I.C. and our mission is to increase inclusion and representation for disabled families across society. We offer a variety of services including bespoke characters, workshops, free resources, events, sensory trails, and more.

Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

Are you an organised and proactive leader who enjoys bringing people together to achieve meaningful results? Join us as a Volunteer Project Manager and play a key role in coordinating our remote volunteers across multiple teams.

You’ll be at the centre of ensuring projects run smoothly, collaboration stays strong, and our initiatives continue creating impact in youth empowerment and skills development.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Project Manager, you’ll oversee the full project lifecycle — from planning to successful delivery. You’ll coordinate timelines, deliverables, and communication across various volunteer teams, supporting team leads and maintaining project momentum.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate progress across multiple volunteer teams and projects.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience managing projects or teams (remote experience is a plus).

Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Our Cat welfare team leaders have the important role of coordinating, encouraging and supporting teams of fosterer volunteers and cat care volunteers. They help make sure volunteers with direct cat care roles are happy and confident and provide advice and guidance when needed. This incredible teamwork means we are able to help more cats and kittens in need.

What we need from you

You’ll be:

• Volunteering alongside colleagues including the branch coordinator/team leader, Cat Welfare team, branch development manager and Vet team to ensure that cat care policies, procedures and standards are applied
• Support fosterers to follow cat welfare policies and procedures
• Acting as the main point of contact within the branch for cat welfare and ensuring that welfare updates are shared and implemented effectively
• Supporting the branch by ensuring that accurate and up to date records of all cats helped are maintained, using specified systems
• Attending relevant volunteer training sessions and encouraging other volunteers to do likewise
• With the other volunteers, recruit, induct and support all branch fosterers and cat care volunteers
• Represent the branch at relevant meetings
• Play an active part in the branch committee, being part of the branch team leading on cat adoption information and updates
• Collaborating with the cat adoption team leader to ensure the highest standards of cat care are applied in line with our policies and procedures
