Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection

Time expectation

Obuyisi bw'Omu Initiative

Through grassroots initiatives, advocacy, and partnerships, the Obuyisibwomu Initiative aims to uplift marginalized groups—particularly women, youth, and children—while fostering long-term, sustainable change.

Obuyisi bw’omu Initiative addresses critical challenges faced by underserved communities in Uganda. These include limited access to mental health support, poor water sanitation and hygiene practices, barriers to quality education, and the escalating effects of climate change.

Mental Health: Stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to mental health services leave many—especially youth—without the support they need for emotional well-being.

Water, Sanitation & Health (WASH): Inadequate clean water sources and poor sanitation infrastructure contribute to preventable diseases and poor health outcomes in rural communities.

Quality Education: Many children face barriers such as lack of resources, insufficient learning environments, and limited access to inclusive education opportunities, hindering their personal and community development.

Climate Change & Environmental Degradation: Communities experience direct impacts of climate change, including environmental degradation and food insecurity, but often lack the tools or knowledge to mitigate these effects.

Through our programs, we aim to empower communities, raise awareness, and drive sustainable solutions to these interconnected social and environmental issues.

Obuyisi bw’omu Initiative provides community-driven, practical solutions that empower individuals and promote sustainable development in Uganda.

Mental Health Awareness: We create safe spaces for dialogue, organize awareness campaigns, and engage youth in mental health education to reduce stigma and promote emotional well-being.

Water, Sanitation & Health (WASH): We work with communities to improve access to clean water, promote proper sanitation practices, and conduct health education to prevent disease and improve public health outcomes.

Quality Education: We support learners by providing educational resources, mentorship, and advocacy for inclusive, quality education—ensuring that children and youth in rural areas have better opportunities for growth.

Climate Action: We engage communities in environmental conservation activities such as tree planting, climate education, and sustainable practices that build resilience to climate change.

By combining grassroots engagement with volunteer expertise, we foster community ownership, empower young people, and promote lasting positive change.

Major Gifts & Campaign Fundraiser

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

We are seeking a Major Gifts & Campaign Fundraising Volunteer — a results-driven fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing meaningful donations, organizing impactful fundraising events, and turning digital campaigns into successful revenue-generating efforts.

This is not a general volunteer fundraiser role. We need someone with experience and energy to take the lead in bringing real funds into a growing organization that’s driving transformative change for children and youth in Uganda.

�� Role Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Execution Develop and implement a donor acquisition plan to meet fundraising targets. Identify and engage potential donors (individuals, businesses, grants). Optimize the current Meaningful campaign for maximum visibility & conversions.

Donor Outreach & Relationship Building Lead email, social media, and phone outreach to secure donations. Cultivate relationships with potential donors for recurring contributions. Represent OBI professionally in donor communications.

Event Fundraising Plan and execute virtual or in-person fundraising events (e.g., webinars, charity drives). Collaborate with the team to promote events and secure sponsors. Campaign Marketing & Promotion Craft compelling fundraising messages (stories, impact reports, social media content). Leverage LinkedIn, Twitter, and email campaigns to boost donations. Track and report on campaign performance (donations, engagement).

Partnerships & Sponsorships Research and approach businesses/NGOs for partnerships or matching donations. Draft sponsorship proposals and follow up with leads.

The Robin Cancer Trust is the UK’s only testicular, ovarian and germ cell cancer charity, and our mission is to save lives. The commitment from you...

Your passion, experience, knowledge (and time).We ask our trustees to commit to a monthly virtual meeting (approx. 1.5 hours), along with a few hours per month to support the staff team and deliver strategic goals. This is a minimum, but often trustees commit to take on additional responsibilities within projects, or within their specialities.

A volunteering opportunity to make a difference to the community.

Stratford upon Avon Town Trust is a place-based charity. We support people who live, work or study in the town. Guided by our values, we do this through the grants that we award to charities and voluntary organisations, and also through our valuable community assets like our community hub, the bandstand, Stratford-upon-Avon Local Nature Reserve, Rowley Fields, the Community Orchard and the Guild Chapel.

Our Board of Trustees plays an essential role in the success of the charity, and is responsible for its strategic direction, governance and financial accountability, and we are now looking for a new Trustee to join our board. To be eligible you must live in the town.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute  to supporting our vision of creating a vibrant and connected community in Stratford-upon-Avon. We welcome applications from members of diverse communities or backgrounds, including young people, and those who bring lived experience or knowledge of activities undertaken in the programmes we fund.  You would be joining the Trust at an exciting time as we embark on our next five-year strategic plan.

You don’t need to have been a Trustee before, hold specific qualifications, or have experience working in the charitable sector. You will be passionate about supporting the local community and understand the issues that affect them. We are especially keen to hear from people who can guide the Trust in setting our environmental objectives or those who provide a voice for underrepresented groups and are passionate about tackling inequality. 

This is a voluntary position, and you would be expected to attend around 12 two-hour board or committee meetings per year with reading and preparation in advance.

East Eagle Foundation

We help people with disabilities in marginalized and underserved communities in the war-affected areas of Democratic Republic of Congo, in order to fulfil their human rights and meet their basic needs.

East Eagle Foundation is committed to helping people marginalized and underserved communities, especially with disabilities in DR Congo, especially in war-affected areas, to fulfill their human rights and meet their basic needs. We work with government bodies, local communities and Disabled People Organizations to implement our projects. EEF has over 10 years of experience working in communities in conflict and post-conflict areas. Currently, EEF is active in seven provinces across the country (Kinshasa, Tanganyika, Kongo-Central, North Kivu, South Kivu, Tshopo and Katanga) and has created an ecosystem of disability rights advocates-the organization maintains a database of more than 2,500 people living with disabilities (members).

To meet the stated objectives identified above, we work in collaboration with the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action & National Solidarity to work with government staff at the local and regional level and with health and services provider agency staff to ensure they are aware of the rights and abilities of people living with disabilities. We also increase their skills to provide supports that provide full inclusion. This is accomplished through training, educational materials, technical assistance, and the creation of a Community of Practice. Our second focus is to increase the advocacy skills of individuals living with disabilities. This is accomplished through advocacy training and training to create radio and social media content aimed at raising awareness of the rights and abilities of people living with disabilities.

Develop, write, and package grant applications and proposals according to grant guidelines, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met. Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership team throughout the process.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Fundraising to lead and develop our fundraising strategy at a crucial time in Youth Advantage UK's growth. IAPWA (International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals) is a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need. 

Since our first project based in Borneo in 2009, we have helped over 50,000 animals across the globe. We provide a lifeline to dogs and cats every year in need of veterinary care and support via humane dog and cat population projects. We also provide aid to companion animals, working donkeys, and endangered wildlife.

As a small charity, who has big plans, we can’t do it without the support of volunteers and fundraisers.

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a rewarding way to contribute? Become a key part of our monthly online auctions and help raise vital funds for our cause!

As a Donation Support Officer, you'll play a crucial role in collecting items for our auctions, which take place in our Facebook group each month.

What You'll Do:

• Engage your network: Reach out to friends, family, and colleagues to gather preloved items for auction. You’ll help give things a second life while raising funds for animals in need!

• Connect with your community: Tap into local Freecycle groups, social media, and even your neighborhood to find exciting items to auction.

• Reach out to businesses: Approach local businesses for new, unused donations. It could be products, services, or gift cards that can help boost the auction's success.

• Spread the word: Share the auctions within your network to encourage bidding and excitement around the cause.

• Flexible commitment: You can volunteer from the comfort of your own home and set your own pace. We are looking for around 1-3hrs per week and while some tasks may be time sensitive the majority of the role will be flexible. 

• Support & Training: You’ll join a small friendly team and we will provide guidance to help you succeed in your role.

I am short of time so need a helper or helpers to draft up bids for restoration and enhancement works to Grade I listed St Marys Church Sompting BN15 0AZ and II* listed St Marys church Binsted BN18 0LL (each having 2 charities PCC and Friends), also for Sustainable Sussex CIO's community farm projects at Sompting BN15 0EW.  It might be possible to pay a freelancer but in the first instance we are seeking appropriately experienced bidwriting volunteers who could enjoy helping us raise grants for any of these projects.

Longleigh Foundation is a grant-making charity working to improve the lives and wellbeing of people living in social housing across the UK. From emergency grants that keep people afloat, to funding pioneering research that addresses systemic inequalities, we’re committed to transforming lives and influencing lasting change.

With our new strategy launching this summer, we’re looking for three new Trustees to join our dedicated Board and help drive our next phase of growth and impact.

We’re particularly seeking experience in:

· Finance and Accounting

· Investments

· HR / OD / People Management

· Governance, ideally with a charity setting

· Customer Services / Social Investment within Social Housing

…but above all, we want people who share our vision, values and commitment to social justice.

We warmly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of social housing and from under-represented communities, especially those identifying as Black, Asian or from other minority ethnic backgrounds.

Trustees serve an initial term of three years, renewable for up to two further terms. Most meetings are virtual, making this an accessible and flexible opportunity.
