Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

Using your knowledge of the Education Sector you will build strong partnerships with schools and colleges to deliver nutrition and lifestyle based interventions that inspire children and young adults to eat more real and natural food!

What will you be doing?

In this immensely important and pivotal role within CFK you will: 

• Build a team of like-minded volunteers who have a good understanding of the education sector including how schools run, the curriculum and the most effective ways of educating and inspiring children and their families
• Lead and inspire your team to design, refine and deliver inspiring interventions
• Design and develop strategies to support the achievement of the CFK project goals
• Lead the design, delivery and implementation of interventions within school settings
• Build strong relationships with current and potential intervention sites (i.e. schools), strategic partners and other CFK Teams

What are we looking for?

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience working with children, educators / teachers and parents in school settings 
• A clear and visible passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children through nutrition and lifestyle
• Some formal training in working with children, for example as teacher, Head Teacher, teaching assistant, educationalist, health/sport coach
• Strong management and leadership experience and skills  
• A natural ability to inspire others 
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage projects effectively
• Articulate written, visual and verbal communicator - fluency in English is essential 
• Experience and interest in working with authorities (ideal but not essential)

• Supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers in the Crawley, Reigate and district area
• Planning fundraising events and activities with your team
• Allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. About Being a Trustee

CHIPS (Christian International Peace Service) trustees play a crucial role in advancing peace in communities worldwide. Working collaboratively as part of the Board, they provide strategic oversight to the organisation, helping to strengthen its impact and sustainability by bringing their unique expertise and skills to the team. We're particularly looking for a trustee with a strong background in finance, accounting or bookkeeping in order to help support our Director and Board in there oversight of financial matters.

We hope that the experience of being a trustee for CHIPS will be rewarding. As well as making a difference to the communities that we support, we hope you will gain satisfaction from generously giving of your time. We want to have a Board of Trustees who are diverse in their experience and knowledge so that impact can be sustained. Whilst specific roles may vary, the overall duties are:

• Ensuring that CHIPS pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its constitution, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy in coordination with CHIPS staff and project teams
• Ensuring that CHIPS complies with its constitution, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations
• Ensuring that CHIPS applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects for the benefit of the public
• Ensuring that CHIPS defines its goals and evaluates performance against agreed targets

The Molly Huggins Foundation is a newly launched charity with a bold mission: to drive long-term, place-based investment in communities that are too often overlooked. We’re a subsidiary of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH), with a vision to raise £75 million through fundraising, partnerships, and internal contributions by 2035.

About the role

As our first Chair, you’ll help shape the strategic direction of this charity at a pivotal moment. You’ll lead our Board, guide the integration of two foundations, and provide high-level oversight on finance, governance, and risk. Just as crucially, you’ll act as a visible ambassador, bringing credibility, networks, and a deep belief in our mission.

This is a voluntary role with a time commitment of approximately two days per month and a three-year term (renewable up to six years). You’ll work closely with the MTVH Executive team and stakeholders across housing, social justice, and philanthropy to help unlock the potential of communities across the UK.

Addressing challenges such as poor-quality education, inadequate healthcare, discrimination against marginalized groups, and lack of skills, they run four key programs. Education provides resources and support to 10 local public primary schools, with special focus on girls’ education. Community Development fosters collective action and skills training for employment. Advocacy empowers marginalized voices to influence decisions. Health promotes preventive care, strengthens local facilities, and extends grassroots services—creating lasting, equitable improvements in the community.

Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)

You are responsible for securing financial support and resources for winners group initiative; Relationship building: Cultivating and maintaining connections with potential and existing donors.

We are looking for up to 6 new trustees to join the board as we continue to build on and accelerate our work as an independent charity. We are proud of what we have achieved in just over a year, creating an organisation that is led by centring survivor voices and our values of equity and justice. We have continued the work of movement building by creating intentional spaces for community, knowledge exchange, advocacy and centring the experiences of survivors from faith backgrounds.

Yet, we have much to do to build a robust and resilient organisation that cares for its workers as much as it cares for the cause and achieves its mission to ensure that all women of any faith and racial background has access to support and justice.

The skills and expertise we need are listed in the ‘Trustee Role Profiles’ below but can be summarised into the following:

• Experience in governance, strategy, finance, fundraising, or legal expertise
• A commitment to anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and inclusive feminist practice
• Lived or professional experience in the VAWG sector, activism, or community organising
• An understanding of the role of faith in survivors’ lives and a willingness to engage with this nuance

We would particularly welcome applications from people of colour, faith, racialised and global majority communities, LGBTQIA+ and disability, those with migration experiences, and those underrepresented in leadership spaces as we are looking to improve the diversity of our board.

Previous board or trustee experience is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds.

In line with Charity Commission guidelines the trustee role is voluntary and unpaid, but reasonable expenses will be covered including travel, overnight accommodation and food allowance.
