Purpose of the Role

 To bring senior-level fundraising expertise to the Board of Trustees, advising and supporting Momentum’s income generation strategies and providing constructive challenge and oversight of the charity’s fundraising activities.

 Key Responsibilities

 §  Provide expert advice, guidance and strategic input to the Board and senior leadership on all aspects of fundraising.

§  Support the ongoing development of Momentum’s multi-stream fundraising strategy (including major donors, corporate partnerships, trusts & foundations, events, community fundraising, legacies, and digital fundraising).

§  Monitor fundraising performance against targets and ensure fundraising activities remain compliant with relevant regulations (Fundraising Regulator, Charity Commission, GDPR, etc).

§  Act as a mentor and sounding board to the Director of Fundraising & Engagement and CEO.

§  Contribute ideas and insights to help the charity identify new opportunities for sustainable income growth.

§  Where appropriate, assist with the stewardship of key supporters or donors.

§  Fulfil all general trustee duties, including attending Board meetings, contributing to governance and strategic decision-making, and upholding the charity’s values and safeguarding responsibilities.

Obuyisi bw’omu Initiative addresses critical challenges faced by underserved communities in Uganda. These include limited access to mental health support, poor water sanitation and hygiene practices, barriers to quality education, and the escalating effects of climate change.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to help campaign in the creation of our new park with natural swimming ponds.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for illustrators, animators and graphic designers to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on coordinating our digital marketing. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across content creation, social media, film or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

While technical skills are essential, we also value your ability to think creatively and strategically. You should have experience in creating engaging visual content for various platforms that will engage stakeholders and decision makers, such as public reports, presentations for decision makers, social media and websites. A strong understanding of storytelling and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively through visuals will be invaluable. You should be comfortable with community-led processes. Traditional acupuncture is widely accepted in mainstream medicine and is formally recommended in NICE guidelines such as those for chronic primary pain. The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) is the largest traditional acupuncture regulating body in the UK and the only body that maintains training and regulatory standards that meet the accreditation standards of the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA).

However, for acupuncture to succeed, acupuncturists must be able to meet the significant challenges of maintaining and developing their clinical skills, running a private practice and supporting their own physical and mental health. The BAcC also has a mission to influence government and national healthcare policy to create better opportunities for those of all incomes and backgrounds to have access to acupuncture from trusted practitioners.

The BAcC Membership Services Committee (MSC) was established to aid the organisation to meet the needs of its practising membership. The committee is comprised of both practitioner members and non-practitioner lay representatives. It is chaired by a member of the governing board and supported by the BAcC CEO and staff.

As a lay member of the MSC, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and opportunities of practising acupuncturists and in turn enhance the availability, effectiveness and safety of acupuncture to the UK public.  The BAcC is looking for candidates who have an interest and motivation to support acupuncture and acupuncturists and have experience and skills in one or more relevant areas including:
