Role: Online Activities Volunteer

Commitment: Currently, sessions are run both during the week (mostly in the afternoon) and at weekends (usually on a Saturday). Activity volunteering is a flexible commitment, and you will be able to sign up for the session you like and when you have time. It really is up to you and your availability.

What will I be doing?

Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. Our activities are designed for blind young people to meet new friends, gain confidence, learn new skills/sports, and become more independent. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people. 

Key Tasks and Main Duties 

Online activities: 

• support the session timetable 

• facilitate the communication and social interaction between participants 

• encourage members of the group to participate and share their opinions 

Who are you?

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked before as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and willing to follow RSBC’s policies and can be an excellent ambassador for RSBC. We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of sight problems.

Safeguarding:

We're building the UK's biggest thrifting community. To that end, we're looking for volunteers who share our love for thrifting and circularity.

BloodForce

We work in Ghana to eliminate the burden of blood acquisition on providers and patients in crisis by leveraging technology to galvanize the public to increase Ghana’s Blood Collection Index to greater than 10 by 2030, because no patient in crisis should die from unavailability of blood products.

Ghana at 5.6 per 1000 population, is significantly behind WHO minimum standard [10 per 1,000 population] required to meet a country’s basic transfusion needs. As a result, restrictive blood disbursement policies have resulted in delayed care for critical patients in Ghana and in many cases, avoidable deaths.

We believe that public communities can be mobilized to close gaps in health care delivery, particularly in developing countries. BloodForce plans to build an online blood donor community that can reliably and meaningfully increase blood donation rates in Ghana while helping patients and families navigate their blood product health crises. This community will also serve as a platform for advocacy and education, strengthening transfusion services across the country.

InterVol is a student volunteering charity in the United Kingdom that connects students with volunteering opportunities locally and overseas. About the position

Recycllux solves the marine plastic waste crisis by enabling corporations, coastal authorities, and ports to act through our Marine Plastic Cleanup-as-a-Service (AI satellite-powered plastic pollution detection, decentralized cleanup operations, traceable plastic offset & ESG reporting).

Recycllux tackles the escalating crisis of marine plastic pollution, which endangers ecosystems, disrupts coastal economies, and accelerates climate change. Each year, 12 million tons of plastic enter the seas and oceans—set to triple by 2040. Despite EU mandates for urgent action, existing solutions fail due to lack of real-time monitoring, scalable cleanup methods, and transparent impact verification.

Recycllux solves the marine plastic waste crisis by enabling corporations, coastal authorities, and ports to act through our Marine Plastic Cleanup-as-a-Service platform that integrates:

1. AI satelite-powered marine plastic detection to provide real-time data on plastic pollution spots in the sea;
2. Decentralized cleanup operations leveraging local value chains (fishing vessels, NGOs, recyclers) with blockchain-based traceability.
3. Certified ESG reports and Plastic Offset Credits for compliance and sustainability.

Our AI-driven satellite analysis identifies marine plastic hotspots in the seas, enabling efficient, targeted decentralized cleanup interventions to effectively remove plastic waste and ensure it is reintegrated into the circular economy. The blockchain-based intervention management portal ensures full traceability from detection to collection, recycling, and impact reporting, allowing companies, coastal authorities, and ports to demonstrate compliance and sustainability efforts transparently.

By embedding collection within coastal communities and engaging local fishing fleets and local NGOs, we minimize carbon emissions, create local jobs, and improve cost efficiency. Partnering with local recyclers and repurposing facilities, we ensure that plastic waste is reintegrated into the circular economy, reducing reliance on virgin plastics and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

About Recycllux: Recycllux is a deep-tech startup on a mission to make marine plastic cleanup traceable, data-driven, and scalable. Using satellite imagery, AI, and blockchain, we identify and verify cleanup interventions - turning marine plastic from a global burden into measurable environmental action.

Role Overview: We are looking for a legal-savvy volunteer to support our early-stage legal needs — helping us lay the foundation for strong governance, compliance, and partnership frameworks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your legal skills to a real-world, impact-driven venture at the intersection of sustainability and innovation.

Your Contribution: • Assist with drafting and reviewing basic legal documents (e.g. contracts, NDAs, agreements, MoUs) • Support preparation of our shareholder agreement • Help outline templates for pilot agreements, customer contracts, partnership terms, and governance documents • Advise on legal risks and compliance related to startup operations and international partnerships

Skills We're Looking For: • Legal background (LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent experience) • Familiarity with startup law and contracts • Ability to communicate legal matters clearly and pragmatically • Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality • Bonus: Experience in EU law and technology law

About the Project – “Solta o Jogo”
“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival that celebrates Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, this event engages the local community through free performances, classes, and exhibitions.

As part of this project, we are looking for a Data Analyst who can help us measure community impact, inform decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement across programme delivery. This is a hybrid volunteer role, ideal for someone based near Kingston (travel expenses will be reimbursed). You’ll gain valuable experience working in the non-profit sector and help shape a high-profile cultural programme that has received praise from local councillors, Kingston University, and the Brazilian Consulate in London.

Position Overview:
The Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting Quilombo UK’s community and cultural initiatives by collecting, managing, analysing, and reporting data related to engagement, outreach, and programme impact. This role is crucial to enabling data-driven decision-making across teams and enhancing the visibility of outcomes to stakeholders and funders.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Management:

• Gather, clean, and manage datasets from sources including attendance logs, feedback surveys, fundraising data, and project reports.

• Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and organisation across internal records.

Analysis & Insight Generation:

• Identify trends and patterns to evaluate the effectiveness of “Solta o Jogo” programming.

• Support strategy development through analysis of community engagement, volunteer participation, and performance indicators.

Reporting & Visualisation:

• Build user-friendly dashboards and visuals to support internal teams and partner reporting needs.

• Present clear summaries and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work with Programme, PR, and Marketing teams to align data insights with communication strategies and outreach efforts.

• Provide data-driven inputs for programme evaluation and future planning.

Continuous Improvement:

• Support the design of outcome tracking tools, surveys, and templates.

• Suggest enhancements to reporting systems and support data-driven fundraising efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or working toward a qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Social Research, or related field.

Experience:

• Experience working with spreadsheets and large datasets.

• Demonstrated ability to collect, clean, and interpret data using Excel or Google Sheets.

• (Desirable) Familiarity with tools like Power BI, SPSS, R, or Python.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ability to translate complex data into accessible reports.

• A proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset.

From elderly moggies to energic kittens, every day across the UK cats and kittens are in need of a temporary place to stay, and lots of love and TLC! We need more fosterers like you to provide a safe, temporary haven for cats and kittens and provide them with everything they need before they get their chance to land on their four paws and make a house a home.

• Ensure you have all you need in place to foster the cat(s) in your care, for example equipment and food

What we need from you

• You must live in the South Ayrshire area of Scotland
• A stable, safe and compassionate environment in your home (separate room minimum size 3.6m squared - essential to meet UK animal welfare standards)
• Enrich the cats’ experience in care including play, exercise and appropriate handling/interaction
• A willingness to complete some training in order to provide high standards of cat welfare
• Introduce cats to prospective adopters so they can find their forever home

Time expectation

Our volunteer fosterers usually spend around one and a half hours per day (around 10 to 13 hours per week) in this role, but this might vary depending on the number of cats or kittens in care.
