Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. We require the successful candidate's to assist with the Tamworth Network in Community Engagement Events and Fundraising Events. This will involve setting up and putting away the Gazebo's, Flags, Promotional Material and Equipment. Will also include speaking to members of the public about St John and what we do, and how they can get involved and help save lives. Also could include asking people for donations at fundraising events.

When the interview has been passed and screening for the role is complete you will be invited to a short Network induction and meet the other members of the network in Tamworth. 

The Induction will take place if successful at the Interview and screening complete.

Training will be provided at Network Meeting Nights which take place Thursday Evenings 7:30 PM until 9pm Approx.

Community researchers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park ensure our community-owned park is inclusive and welcoming for all.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for community researchers specialised to contribute to our community-led working circle who are working on on a listening project to ensure often underrepresented voices in conservation and environmental projects are heard and centred. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects and facilitate the direction of the working circle.

The Inclusivity Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

JOB SUMMARY: 

Join our team as a Volunteer Events & Community Fundraising Officer, working alongside the Fundraising Manager to develop and expand our community engagement and events portfolio. *Please note that all members of Equal Aqua work remotely and on a voluntary basis. We ask that volunteers contribute on average 1 day per week and commit to the role for 12 months as a minimum. 

Interviews will take place via MS Teams where you will meet an informal panel of volunteers.

Join our amazing volunteer team to make a real difference to people living with sight loss. You’ll be supporting people to come together in a group setting, to benefit from each other’s company, knowledge and encouragement, leading to reduced isolation, stronger networks of support, and new friendships. You can support with either local and regional telephone groups or face-to-face groups.

What you’ll be doing:
• Meeting and greeting group members on arrival or joining virtually.
• Creating a warm and welcoming environment.
• Supporting group conversations.
• Assisting with group activities (if appropriate).
