Our focus as an organisation supporting refugees are three-fold:
Frontline evacuations, where conflicts are at their their most precarious
Emergency humanitarian aid deliveries in the most hard-to-reach areas in Ukraine, Syria and Turkey, as well as Greece and France.
Self-reliance projects such as an education centre in Jordan, or upskilling adult refugees into work abroad and in the UK via our "Vintage Emporium" charity shops.
You will gain invaluable experience as a senior marketeer, working directly with the Managing Director, spanning traditional and digital channels in disaster relief in an agile organisation that punches well above its weight, committing to saving the lives of people who otherwise wouldn't be saved. We are small - your voice will be heard and your creativity welcomed!
Your focus will be on marketing our AID SHOP, a groundbreaking humanitarian aid delivery system that allows the general public to turn their empathy for new crises (Gaza, Turkey & Syria earthquake etc) into effective immediate action.
When disaster strikes, or the season changes - survival items for escalating conflicts or disasters are changed and added to our website. You will communicate these updates via email campaigns and social media posts, the items are then 'purchased' by our supporters, with the shopping lists collated internally by you, then sent to our partners or volunteers on the ground who can purchase the physical items and deliver the survival items to vulnerable people in the most precarious and volatile regions, sometimes within minutes!
We also save greatly shipping and storage costs, and there is next to zero chance for unforseen delays at customs.
It is the most efficient way we know of giving in a crises - and is very efffective when marketed right (following either our set formulas, or bringing your own to experiment with). The best part? People know exactly where their money is going, so are justifiably much more generous!
So we need a volunteer (you!) to manage our marketing and communication efforts, ideally 2 days per week to:
*Post on social media (1 x reel / story per week, using a template to communicate the most needed survivial item of the week available for purchase in our "aid shop". 1 x Faceboo photo or video post)
*Update website as required
*Write 1 x compelling press release per week
*Update marketing / fundraising collateral
*Assist charity shops with creating leaflets and posters ad-hoc
*Organising our photos & videos by devising a tagging system
Requirements:
*Please note - if you only have experience in one of the areas needed (e.g. you have worked in copywriting and press roles, but not social media) then please still contact us, as the role can be shared!
2 years' experience in marketing and press roles preferred
Experieince using Canva
An adaptable and compelling copywriter essential
Impeccable grammar
Good attention to detail
Creative, flexible, adaptable
Some knowledge of refugee topics would be very useful but not essential
In return, you’ll work as part of a fun, flexible team of people with shared motivations and interests, and have full visibilty of the fruits of your actions, directly impacting and saving lives within hours of marketing to our database.
Please apply via the prompts here on CharityJobs by 28th February - we are actively interviewing so we may close the opportunity earlier.
We can't wait to hear from you!
We'll get back to everyone within two weeks.

About us
Scouts helps young people step up, speak up and dream big.
We’re the UK’s largest youth movement, supporting over 450,000 young people aged 4-24 to gain skills for life.
Everyone’s welcome here: all genders, faiths (including no faith) and backgrounds, and we’re proud to be part of a global family of 57 million Scouts.
For nearly 120 years, Scouts has created opportunities for young people to have fun, embark on new adventures (especially in the outdoors), forge new friendships, and support their communities. They do this by taking part in an exciting programme with opportunities for everything from coding to kayaking, emergency aid and international travel. We help them believe in themselves and find their place in the world. We help them find their future.
Our formula is simple: to offer affordable activities, usually weekly, for young people in safe, inclusive local spaces. We prioritise opening new groups in disadvantaged areas where we know we can make the most difference to young people. Over the past decade we’ve open more than 1,300 new groups in the 30% most deprived part of the UK, including communities new to Scouts.
Scouts is highly trusted. In a 2024 survey of 2,000 GB adults, conducted by YouGov, 86% of all adults, and 93% of parents, say they trust Scouts. Everything we do is guided by our values of integrity, respect, care, belief and cooperation.

Our Linked Minds Befriending Project supports people who are socially isolated in Ealing and Hounslow due to a diagnosed mental health problem.
This is an opportunity to become a Befriender.
On successful completion of specialist mental health training, the Befriender is matched with someone suitable, by a Co-ordinator who then acts as a (non-clinical) supervisor for the befriending period, which is limited to a year. (Where applicable, this can count towards continuous professional development).
Befriender, client and supervisor make a plan together with a goal to work towards, and the Befriender makes a weekly 1-2 hour visit to the client's home, where they might stay in and chat over a cup of tea, go out for a walk together, visit a cafe or undertake a local activity.
These visits make such a difference for the client, increasing their confidence and helping them explore and work towards getting a job, joining a club, meeting other people or whatever their goal may be.
The aim is that, by the end of the year, clients feel better about themselves, more valued, resilient, empowered, more linked to their community and better equipped for their journeys in recovery.
But volunteering with BEfriend not only enriches the lives of those who are isolated, it also offers immense personal rewards.
As a Befriender, you’ll get to know inspirational people with fascinating stories, develop new skills and be part of a supportive team that values compassion and connection.
This role is for UK residents only, and applicants are required to live in or very near the boroughs of Ealing or Hounslow.
After applying, volunteers will need to provide 2 character references and complete an enhanced DBS check (cost covered and organised by Linked Minds).
The check is carried out as part of our Safeguarding policy to protect our clients who are ‘vulnerable people’.
BEfriend is a one-to-one volunteer befriending service, supporting socially isolated people in the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow.

Skin Gourmet
Skin Gourmet makes raw, handmade, edible skincare from wild Ghanaian ingredients—empowering African producers to earn 300% more by cutting out middlemen and keeping the value where it belongs.
The global skincare industry, valued at over $24.5 billion, thrives on raw materials sourced from Africa—particularly ingredients like shea butter, baobab, and black soap. However, African producers, especially rural women, remain trapped in extreme poverty, earning less than $1.10 a day. Despite being the backbone of the industry, they are systemically excluded from accessing high-value markets due to the high cost of certifications such as Fair Trade and Organic, which range from $2,000 to $70,000 annually. For women earning less than $400 per year, these certifications are entirely out of reach.
Skin Gourmet solves these challenges by creating a radically transparent and locally-rooted skincare model that centers African producers as the rightful beneficiaries of their resources. We source wild, raw ingredients directly from rural communities in Ghana and transform them into handmade, edible skincare products—processed locally to retain full market value. By eliminating middlemen, we ensure producers are paid directly and fairly, increasing their earnings by up to 300%. Instead of exporting raw materials at undervalued prices, we keep processing in-country, turning Ghanaian farmers into suppliers of high-value finished goods.
Our refill system will save up to 15,000 units of packaging waste annually by 2026. We partner to distribute 5,000 clean cookstoves over five years—helping reduce indoor air pollution and cutting 7,500 tons of CO₂ emissions. We rely on wild-harvested ingredients, which are naturally regenerative and require no synthetic inputs or industrial farming.
Everything we do is designed to keep wealth, ownership, and environmental responsibility within African communities—proving that sustainable beauty can be clean, ethical, and truly transformative from the ground up.
