Role Description

The Together Plan is a UK registered charity, promoting community capacity building, with a current focus on Belarus and Eastern Europe, through research, exploration, cultural events and dialogue. We help communities discover what can be achieved collectively, working alongside community members to develop skills and knowledge while providing the necessary training to build a sustainable future.

The Together Plan draws its inspiration for projects around three central pillars – ‘past’, ‘present’ and ‘future’ and each project drives a central belief which can be distilled into one line … Jewish people, wherever they are, are not alone.

The Together Plan is looking for pro-bono support to help maintain and expand our current Salesforce solution. We are looking to develop a long term relationship with a volunteer (or two) from the Salesforce ecosystem. Time commitment is expected to be on average 5 hours a month and maybe a little more if there is a specific project ongoing.

The Story Forge is a new, grassroots literacy project based in Grantham. We run creative, inclusive workshops that help children and young people express themselves through storytelling, drawing and imagination. From festive drop-ins to zine-making and sensory map sessions, we’re creating spaces where all kids feel like storytellers.

The Role

We’re looking for a kind, curious and imaginative designer (or marketer with strong visuals skills) to help define and deliver the look and voice of The Story Forge. We’re already reaching out, but we need design clarity and someone to help make everything we share feel as special as the work itself.

You might help with:

• Designing a simple visual identity (logo, fonts, colour palette)

• Creating branded templates in Canva (social, flyer, web)

• Developing a tone of voice guide to keep our comms consistent

• Designing a downloadable Story Maker Kit for kids

• Supporting one or two future campaigns (Christmas, Zine launch)

You’d be working directly with our founder (a children’s author), and your work would be credited visibly across our website and materials.

Gendered Intelligence is looking to expand the current Board of Trustees in order to bring fresh perspectives and skills to support the vital work that we do. We are currently recruiting for up to three new trustees.  

Any successful applicants will need to understand the history of, and the issues that affect trans, nonbinary and gender questioning people and our communities in the UK, either as a member of this community themselves or as a committed ally. They will also need to have a strong commitment to the values and mission of Gendered Intelligence.

Summary

• Hours: Voluntary, but Trustees are expected to commit to a minimum of 10 hrs per month 
• Location: Board meetings are a mix of online and in-person, at times arranged to suit the Trustees. Ability to travel to London is necessary
• Reports to: Chair/Charity Commission/Companies House

Particular areas of expertise 

Whilst we are looking for trustees with a broad range of skills, we are particularly interested in finding people with skills and experience in the following areas:

• Youth work. Experience as a senior or strategic practitioner, especially within vulnerable and marginalised communities.
• Legal work. This could be in human rights, discrimination, employment law or general charity law, but we are open to other areas of expertise, including regulatory, risk and governance expertise. You may not be a lawyer but could bring knowledge of legal systems more widely, or networks who can support this area as required.
• HR management experience. An experienced HR professional who can bring a strategic HR perspective to board discussions and support the GI in developing effective and inclusive people practices.

If your experience does not fall into these categories but you would still like to be considered, please do let us know. The best trustees can come from all sorts of backgrounds, and we’d love to know what your experience can offer us.

Commitment 

We currently hold five scheduled Board meetings a year and occasional ad hoc meetings as deemed necessary. Additionally there is the opportunity to join subcommittees and working groups to allow deeper involvement in an area of particular interest. In order to facilitate availability for each meeting, to read all necessary paperwork in advance, and to be available to advise in your area of expertise, we consider that successful candidates should be able to commit to being available for a minimum of 10 hours per month.

Appointments are for an initial three-year term, renewable for up to two further terms.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have been a trustee before – although prior experience is welcome. We're especially interested in people with skills in any of the following areas:

• Legal expertise (especially charity or contract law)
• HR or volunteer coordination

If you're organised, thoughtful, and comfortable working as part of a small remote team, you'll fit right in. We're also keen to hear from people who have worked in community support, health and wellbeing, or have experience working with vulnerable adults in third-sector projects.
