Aid to the Church in Need is a Catholic charity, supporting persecuted and suffering Christians around the world.

Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups.  

Developing strong links for ACN with educational and pastoral networks in Schools, Colleges and Universities, building relationships and supporting them in delivering the ACN Schools Programme, boosting the take up of the programme, increasing school engagement and delivering assemblies in person and virtually.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

Days  Mondays – Fridays

Hours    37.5 hours per week

Duration  Permanent full time. 

Salary  £25,175 - £28,387  depending on experience.

Holiday  20 days per annum with the addition of time off over the Christmas period when FST closes for two weeks.

We run projects which encompass personal, social development and life skills. Our flagship mentoring scheme includes one-to-one and small group sessions. The focus is on the outcome, but also on the journey. In addition we collaborate with Caius House to deliver their after-school programme. 

To be part of our success and our FST team, you must have a passion for working directly with young people, delivering a lasting, positive impact to their lives. 

Main aim of the role: 

Playing a vital role within our expanding youth support team at Future Skills, you will work to support and empower our young people to re-engage and return to education and employment. You will be creating structured lesson plans to deliver high quality soft skills sessions. You will be proactive and get involved with the pupil’s daily activities, promoting teamwork and setting a good example. You will also build positive relationships with the young people, fellow professionals, parents and carers as this is key to this role.

In addition to that, you will work with the team here at Caius House to help deliver an after-school programme for young people, usually one evening per week. To this effect, you will work with both the FST team and the team on-site at Caius House.

The post holder will be responsible for: 

• Working with colleagues to develop a soft skills curriculum for our group and one to one sessions.

• Actively participating in the sessions we deliver including off-site trips and sporting activities.

• Undertaking one-to-one and small group mentoring with vulnerable and at-risk young people aged 8-16 years old.

• Working with the FST team delivering personal and social development workshops with excluded young people, encouraging them to engage and develop and challenging negative behaviours.

• Building relationships and regularly communicating with parents/carers and professionals.

• Building positive relationships with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, inspiring and motivating them, acting as a positive role model at all times.

• Bringing passion, ideas, creativity, energy and strategies to all projects.

• Demonstrating understanding of the issues faced by children and young people.

• Keeping accurate records of attendance and session evaluations using our online database system.

• Having an active role in our regular team meetings.

The post holder should possess:
 

• Previous experience of working with vulnerable, at risk and disengaged children and young people

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.  

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.

Campbell Rd Young Peoples service provides support and housing for 55 young people in Tower Hamlets that are either leaving care of affected by youth homelessness. The position is in Richmond at 21 Kingston Lane and consists of one high support building with 12 Customers.

The service provides a 24/7 support service, with an emphasis on choice and control, enabling customers to achieve greater independence, improved quality of life and integration into the wider community.

We are looking some someone who is able to build supportive, trusting relationships with customers and create a positive atmosphere. You need to be able to provide a flexible, personalised and responsive support service that is tailored to each customer's abilities and aspirations. This will include a willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

The shifts will be:
Early: 7:30am - 3:30pm, Middle: 9am - 5pm and Late: 2:30pm - 10:30pm

What you'll do:

- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
- Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support customers to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, establishing a night time routine
- Supporting customers to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene
- Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents

Livingstone House is a 24 hour staffed 92 bed mix gender hostel, which provides short term supported housing for single homeless vulnerable people with Low to Medium support needs. Look ahead provides the support function and Riverside provides the housing management and night concierge. The Service provides on average 5 hours of weekly support to customers who reside in the hostel with the aim to provide them with the tools to move on within the community and live independently.

What you'll do:

To provide support to peers and management, being flexible and responsive and help bespoke support for each customer's abilities and aspirations
To implement the principles of personalisation, as part of a local service plan.

To support up to 14 customers to sustain their tenancies
To promote customer involvement in all aspects of your work

Lambeth Step Forward Recovery Cluster is an accommodation based service, set across Lambeth including hub sites situated in Brixton and West Norwood. The service provides care and support to over 60 customers living with enduring long term mental health. We also provide a service for two short-term post hospital discharge schemes for customers, who need support following hospital admission.

The role of our Support Worker play's a crucial role in fulfilling our customers expectations, making a positive difference and where appropriate supporting customers to step down to a lower level of support. Our Support Worker's are guided and mentored by 2 team leaders alongside a Contract Manager and as part of the team you will be developing and sustaining a good quality service to all our customers. An essential part of this role involves developing good partnership working with a range of professional's and maintaining excellent record keeping in line with our compliance management. More importantly, you will be required to oversee support planning, updating Risk Management Plans, and Keyworking. About the Role:

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6-unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

The service forms part of a pair of services supporting up to 12 individuals at any one time across the sites, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young people across London on a spot purchase basis.

Support workers will manage a number of young people to help them to identify, plan and achieve their goals, develop relationships meaningful to them and achieve greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

This is a Waking Night role working to support young people throughout the night at the service. This role completed 10 hour shifts 4 days a week across all days of the week.
