Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment

• Support with recruitment and selection as required. This includes placing adverts, scheduling interviews, requesting references, coordinating induction plans etc.
• Coordinate all documentations for recruits. This includes preparing offer letters and employment contracts, new starter documents.

Volunteer coordination

• Liaise with the Volunteer Lead to process volunteer applications.
• Liaise with the Volunteer Lead to process work experience applications.

These includes Microsoft forms, reference checks and entering data on Chairty Log.

Diversity and Inclusion

• Conduct diversity monitoring for all recruitment applications.

Compliance and Training

• Process and monitor DBS for staff and volunteers.
• Upload new starters on our learning managing system for mandatory training.
• Coordinate and provide administrative support in the delivery of internal and external staff training including, recording attendance, booking external speakers / trainers.

​HR Administration

• Process starters, leavers and changes on HR Information System (Staffology).
• Monitor the HR and recruitment mailbox, responding to queries and signposting emails to HR Manager.
• Respond to reference requests.
• In the absence of HR Manager: Conduct HR induction for newly recruited staff. Provide up to date payroll information to the Finance team and submit monthly pensions payment.
• Assist the HR Manager in developing and maintaining a comprehensive set of HR policies and ensure that all staff know how to access these

Our Fundraising Manager will play a critical leadership role within the Partnerships team, driving growth in philanthropic income through high-value donor engagement. In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of over 300 digital learning modules. The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

The ability to undertake research of highly sensitive topics - this will involve being exposed to research into issues relating to child protection - is essential.

A project management qualification and experience of evaluation methodologies would be desirable. Familiarity with clinical guideline development methodology along with familiarity with carrying out statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA and/or Review Manager would also be desirable.

About Us:

Parenting Mental Health is a charity dedicated to supporting parents and carers of children experiencing mental health challenges. With an annual income of approximately £300k, we are on an exciting growth journey and need a motivated and enthusiastic Fundraising Manager to help us expand and diversify our income streams to continue delivering vital support.

We are looking for an individual who has fundraising experience and who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help us build on our successes so far.  You will drive initiatives forward on your own whilst working closely with our new CEO – no one day will be the same!  The impact you could make will change family lives for the better.

Your Role:

As our Fundraising Manager, you will develop and implement robust fundraising for the charity growing our income through existing and new fundraising streams.  One of our initial ambitions is to implement an individual giving programme as well as build community and challenge event fundraising.  It’s a varied and rewarding role where you will contribute to the charity’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Trusts and Foundations: research potential funding opportunities, submit applications, and maintain relationships with existing grantors.
• Individual Giving: develop and implement an individual giving programme.
• Community Fundraising: develop and implement community fundraising initiatives to generate vital income.
• Challenge Events: develop and implement a programme of UK based events, encouraging participants to meet their fundraising targets.
• Corporate Fundraising: identify and engage corporate partners, securing financial support and managing ongoing partnerships.
• Donor Stewardship: ensure donors feel valued by sending timely acknowledgements and regular updates on the impact of their support.
• Database: help implement and maintain a new CRM system.

What We Are Looking For:

• An experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of delivering fundraising strategy and results.
• A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for building relationships.
• Attention to detail and knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices
• Experience of digital fundraising platforms and social media campaigns and how the charity can use these to maximise income.
• A passion for the mission of Parenting Mental Health and a desire to make a positive impact: “Lived experience” desirable but not essential.
