About the role

As Data Lead, you will facilitate the collection, management, integrity, security and reporting of our programme delivery, quality assurance and evaluation data, supporting the work of the Data and Insights Manager and Head of Impact and Quality. In this role, you will primarily work with our CRM system, Salesforce, alongside other data systems such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and FormAssembly.

Main responsibilities

• Lead on data capture of key data points from partner schools, ensuring high quality throughout, efficient processes, and complete data. For example, collection of pupil data, SATs and GCSE results.
   
• Be responsible for promoting high standards of data integrity across the organisation. This includes supporting staff to develop in their use of data, undertaking regular data integrity activities, and developing solutions to improve data integrity issues at the source.
   
• Work with the Data and Insights Manager on the administration, maintenance and development of our Salesforce CRM system.
   
• Support the design, delivery and maintenance of a range of custom reports (in Salesforce or other software), to facilitate external stakeholder reporting and a range of internal project work across departments.
   
• With the Data and Insights Manager, act as expert in data governance and data protection processes at Action Tutoring, promoting data security and GDPR compliance across the organisation.
   
• Any other ad hoc responsibilities as deemed relevant by the CEO.
   

Person specification

We are looking for someone who has:
 

• Two or more years experience with Salesforce administration, including custom objects.
   
• Experience administering online data capture software (ideally FormAssembly), including managing integrations with Salesforce.
   
• Experience working with complex datasets in Excel, including data cleaning in preparation for import/export or analysis.
   
• Experience generating reports for a range of stakeholders.
   
• The ability to design data collection processes and system changes that are scalable, impactful, and promote high standards of data integrity.
   
• Project management experience, including creating project plans, gathering requirements, analysing risks, and managing stakeholders.
   
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; proactive in communicating updates and change to stakeholders at all levels.
   
• Confidence adapting communication style and approach to develop data skills in others, including those without a technical background.
   
• A creative and inquisitive attitude about how technology and automation can improve efficiencies across the organisation.
   
• A good understanding of GDPR compliance and processes.

Context and Background

The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 85% of its annual income. Within Fundraising, our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC and children by working together to create the best possible donor experience by building long-term relationships to create a supporter experience which is different, better and more rewarding than that of supporting any other charity. 

The Special Events team focuses on fundraising events as a key part of audience-led fundraising. This department is responsible for supporting volunteer committees in putting on high level fundraising events. Execution needs to be flawless. Attention to detail is paramount, as are the diplomatic skills to help volunteers achieve success. About the team and how this roles fits into the team and department

Job purpose

· To contribute to the Income Generation department’s purpose of maximising income from potential and current supporters through project managing specific events (including securing sponsorship), and providing committee support 

· To support in the delivery of the agreed departmental strategy, goals and fundraising budget

· To work effectively with other departments in Income Generation and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children

· To keywork supporters and build excellent relationships with key stakeholders who take responsibility for delivering income through high level fundraising and corporate events

· To ensure our events are delivered to a consistently high standard, and bring in new, innovative ideas so we remain competitive in the sector

Key relationships - Internal

 Main duties and responsibilities

· To lead and scope out new events and opportunities

· To successfully manage and deliver large-scale events and special projects within the portfolio of events, overseeing all event logistics and relationship management and development of Special Events Managers when working on shared projects

· To lead on specific fundraising projects and large-scale events, and support development of Executives through your projects 

· Contribute to and deliver particular aspects of the department’s annual business plan and budget. To support project groups for the Special Events team to improve processes and identify new opportunities 

· To manage and develop relationships with senior volunteers and potential supporters through effective and regular communication

· To proactively seek out opportunities to add value to the team and wider organisation

· To develop and create engaging materials for events and stakeholders

· To act as experts in our field by offering support and expertise both internally and externally

1. Extensive experience and technical knowledge of event and project management, specifically with a track record of successfully delivering and growing large scale events

Hours and place of work

Your Responsibilities

Lead and Inspire

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategy to grow income from corporates, trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and major donors.
• Corporate Partnerships: Focus on acquiring new corporate partners to build a strong pipeline and increase income.
• Support Other Fundraising Leads: Assist Trusts and Philanthropy leads in building relationships with funders using research and insight.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate and steward partnerships to exceed expectations.
• Collaboration: Work with senior leaders, trustees, and stakeholders to identify and develop strategic fundraising opportunities.
• Networking: Engage with the CEO and trustees to leverage their networks for partnership growth.
• Team Contribution: Actively participate in leadership and departmental management to support the overall fundraising strategy.
• Event Support: Help plan and deliver impactful stewardship and special events.

Manage and Nurture

• Team Management: Line manage key fundraising staff, ensuring they have the support and resources needed.
• Performance Tools: Develop KPIs and pipeline tools for effective budgeting and forecasting.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track performance indicators, identify risks, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Culture Building: Promote creativity, innovation, and high performance within the fundraising team.
• Cross-Team Support: Contribute to broader fundraising and marketing activities as needed.

Other Responsibilities

• Database Management: Ensure all fundraising communications and actions are properly recorded.
• Governance & Compliance: Maintain strong governance and adhere to fundraising regulations and policies.
• Trend Monitoring: Stay informed on fundraising trends and opportunities.
• Deputising: Step in for the Director of Development when required.
• Health & Safety: Support a safe working environment by following health and safety policies.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work effectively with other departments and locations.
• Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality.
