As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the centre of our technology operations joining our high-performing IT team. Working closely with the Infrastructure & Security Manager you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining the College's IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include managing network systems, servers, storage devices, and other related hardware, software, and cloud platforms.  Furthermore, you will serve as an escalation point for the ServiceDesk team and support the Infrastructure and Security Manager in implementing and managing security protocols to protect company data and systems from potential threats.

In addition, you'll provide vital support for examination systems, ensuring all IT equipment and software are set up and functioning perfectly. Your general IT support will be invaluable as you resolve user IT problems, assist in delivering technology projects, and collaborate with third-party service providers to keep our systems running smoothly.

What you’ll do:

• Infrastructure Management: Support the design, implementation, and operation of technology systems, including cloud services, hosting, on-premises network, and server infrastructure.
• System Stability: Ensure the stability and performance of our technology infrastructure while minimizing downtime and disruption.
• Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system issues, and respond to escalations via the IT Service Desk.
• Cyber Security: Assist in monitoring network and system activity, investigating security incidents, and implementing security measures.
• Examinations Support: Provide technical support for examination systems and equipment setup.
• General IT Support: Resolve user IT problems, assist in delivering technology projects, and support third-party service providers.

What you’ll need:

• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, Windows Server, Intune, and network infrastructure devices.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify workarounds and solutions.

This is a great opportunity to join the unique RCJ Advice - Citizens Advice & Law Centre. We have two court-based offices, at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand, and at the Central Family Court on High Holborn, although we mainly now provide advice by telephone and can therefore support people who are accessing any court in England and Wales. The post-holder can work a mix of both these locations (ideally around 3 days) and from home (around 2 days). 

This new role will take overall responsibility for these two court-based offices and the front-line aspect of these services. The role will manage a team of up to 3 employees, and will recruit volunteers, to deliver the work.

The main aims of this aspect of our operations are:-

• Providing a high quality first point of contact and initial triage service online, by email, telephone and in-person
• Providing an efficient and well-managed service between clients and in particular our volunteer solicitors

• Developing more efficient and technology-based solutions as to how to  run our front of house and triage service

You'll also manage the year end audit, budgeting and forecasting and support procurement processes, while leading a dedicated finance team.

Carers Centre Tower Hamlets (CCTH) is a small, committed organisation dedicated to supporting unpaid carers through a variety of specialist services, from social and therapeutic activities to emotional, mentoring, advocacy, and signposting support. We aim to enrich and empower unpaid carers’ lives, providing them with the support they so selflessly give to others. We are now recruiting to our team someone who will lead on our work to support Carers as part of the Barnsley Street Mental Health Project. 

Project Overview:  

The Barnsley Street Project is a Community Mental Health Pilot aimed at delivering continuous, person-centred mental health care to underserved populations in PCN1 (Bethnal Green). This initiative is a collaborative effort between East London Foundation Trust (ELFT), Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance (THMHA), and the Look Ahead Housing Association. Driven by the voice of lived experience, the project is designed to address the systemic gaps in mental health services, particularly for marginalised communities.  

Purpose of the role:  

To identify and coordinate an effective support service for unpaid carers who support residents who access the Barnsley Street Project, with the aim of supporting carers to have their needs met as well as develop a healthy and sustainable caring role.    

To facilitate access for unpaid carers in the Barnsley Street Project to appropriate support services, both statutory and voluntary. To provide comprehensive support and information to families and carers. To raise awareness of carers’ needs with professionals in the project environment and contribute to carer friendly policies.   

The post will involve the direct provision of services, referral to and between services, collaborative work with other local agencies and outreach work. The post-holder will provide advocacy, referral, and ongoing practical and emotional support to unpaid carers through individual and group work.    

Responsibilities: 

• Identification and Support: Proactively identify carers of residents who utilise the Barnsley Street Project, and provide them with tailored support, ensuring their well-being is prioritised. 

• Information and Guidance: Offer information about available resources, support services, and community networks to assist carers effectively. 

• Communication Liaison: Facilitate communication between clinical staff and carers, ensuring they are kept informed about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and any discharge process. 

• Emotional Support: Provide compassionate emotional support to carers, listening to their concerns and offering a caring presence during difficult times. 

• Training and Education: Organise workshops and peer support groups to equip carers with essential skills for their caregiving role. 

• Advocacy: Advocate for carers' needs and rights within the setting, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. 

Requirements: 

• Previous experience in an advice or support role within a mental health or healthcare environment is preferred. 

• Empathetic and compassionate nature, with a genuine commitment to supporting carers during challenging times. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with carers, hospital staff, and external partners. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing priorities efficiently. 

• Proficient in using technology, including email and Microsoft Office suite.

Community Project Lead

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.

What you’ll do 

• Design and develop pilot advice services that are tailored to the needs of under-served communities, using findings from IPSEA’s research 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, charities and service providers to co-produce accessible services 

• Collaborate with IPSEA’s advice, legal and policy teams to address the barriers these communities face in accessing SEND legal advice 

• Contribute to and share outreach materials, training resources and toolkits to support families of under-served communities and empower local advocates 

• Plan and lead workshops, focus groups and community events to raise awareness, gather feedback and enhance service delivery 

• Monitor and report on project outcomes and impact, providing regular updates to IPSEA staff and stakeholders
