About the role

Responsibilities

• To support the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare in the effective administration and development of Marine Society training and mentoring programmes.
• To act as first line contact for all internal and external enquiries and to respond to these in a timely manner.
• To receive and process seafarer bursary applications and forward to the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare for assessment and approval.
• To accurately track and monitor beneficiaries of the Coming Ashore programme and to provide administrative support to programme mentors.
• To take minutes for team meetings and maintain records and files
• To work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator in the administration and promotion of all Marine Society services through social media and press publications
• To maintain the use of Google Classroom as a communication hub for programme users and bursary recipients and to track their progress and outcomes.
• To input data that will support the production of reports by the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare to funders and stakeholders as required.
• To assist the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager in all aspects of administering the apprentice and adult skills programmes.

Requirements

• Good general level of formal education (including English and mathematics GCSE Grade 4/C or above)
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications and virtual meetings software
• Good standard of written and spoken English

Role: In Memory Executive/Junior Consultant

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising

Location: Royal Trinity Hospice – Clapham, London (hybrid) 3 days onsite

In Memory Giving is an important and sensitive area of hospice fundraising that generates on average £200k of income for Trinity each year. The promotion of our specialist fundraising products and events to the family and friends of deceased patients requires maturity and emotional intelligence. Our In Memory supporters are often loyal long-term supporters who engage with us across many income channels and can become ambassadors for the Hospice and hospice care in general.

In this role you will help families remember and celebrate their loved-ones whilst raising money for the next family that needs Trinity’s care. The In Memory Executive will steward relationships with bereaved family and friends through in-person meetings and written and digital correspondence. They will support them to raise money for the Hospice through their own events and activities that feed into Tribute Funds. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Fundraising and have support from other resources from within the Fundraising team as required. They will promote and manage our various In Memory products (funeral collections, memory tree, tribute funds, etc) whilst identifying opportunities to improve or introduce new products in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising.

Job Description

You'll be an experienced qualified High Intensity Therapist with BABCP accreditation who likes working as part of a supportive team to help clients who struggle with common mental health problems such as anxiety and/or depression.

You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Mind and Body Practitioners and CBT Therapists. Supervision will be provided on both an individual and group basis. You will be expected to support the clinical governance of the Mind and Body service.

• Have a Post Graduate Diploma in an NHS Talking Therapies Course or a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy – plus further post-graduate qualification training in CBT along with significant experience working as a practitioner

JOB SUMMARY

She will be responsible for the co-ordination of an effective support plan for clients dealing with issues around domestic abuse and housing.

She will  provide emotional and practical support from the point of crisis, meeting their immediate needs and working towards a holistic, multi-agency approach to their long term safety, risk reduction and recovery.

This support will be based in the community, including client’s homes where risk appropriate, and the Hope Centre and will involve utilising all of Pathway Projects available services, as well as referring into other appropriate agencies. 

.MAIN DUTIES

· To work as part of the outreach team in providing information, support, guidance, advice, signposting, emergency accommodation and resettlement help for adults experiencing or escaping domestic abuse. 

· To support the aims and principles of Pathway Project in empowering and supporting adults who have experienced domestic abuse to make their own decisions and take control of their own lives. 

· Take all possible steps to ensure the safety and confidentiality of the users, staff and management of Pathway Project. 

· To take referrals for people affected by domestic abuse and housing issues, and provide preventative and risk reducing work with regards to both the domestic abuse and housing. 

· To provide a multi-agency approach to support and wellbeing for clients. 

· To provide non-judgemental, one to one emotional and practical support to clients accessing the service. 

· To provide advice and guidance on the full range of services, options and legal remedies open to them. 

· To complete risk assessments, and develop risk management plans to address the risk of harm, including referral into MARAC where appropriate. 

· To undertake safety planning with clients, that addresses all areas of risk, with the focus on risk reduction. 

· To complete needs assessments and individual support plans with the client to ensure their emotional and practical support needs are being met 

· To provide support to clients, alongside colleagues around registering as homeless, bidding on properties, attending appropriate meetings, applying for grants, budgeting for necessary items and necessary life skills for maintaining a property. 

OUTREACH DUTIES

· To provide support to adults in the community, at the centre and their own homes, around physical, emotional, financial, sexual and social abuse. 

· To provide emotional support and, where necessary, signpost to appropriate counselling provisions. 

· To provide practical support and advice around welfare benefits, housing, debt relief, substance misuse, training, employment, mental health and legal issues, including the use of signposting to other appropriate members of staff and agencies. 

· To provide advocacy and liaise with other agencies on behalf of the client where appropriate and necessary. 

· To attend multi agency and professionals meetings to represent the needs of the client and Pathway Project. 

· To attend appointments with the client where required, and if necessary help with the completion of paperwork, including legal documents. 

· To attend court with the client where required. 

· To promote the work of the project through training, presentations and representation at meetings. 

· To assist with the setting up and maintaining of local support networks. 

· To assist with the delivery of client support groups where appropriate. 

GENERAL

• Manage a caseload of appropriate to the number of hours worked. 

• Maintain, update and keep accurate and factual case records. 

• Follow procedures and protocols with other services so that the safety of the service user is kept central to any process. 

• Keep other relevant agencies informed about important changes in service user’s situations, within information sharing protocols. 

• Develop and maintain effective communication systems with key partners including housing, Police, CPS, court service, social services, education, health, victim support, witness service, voluntary sector organisations, CAFCASS. 

• Contribute to the development of service policies, protocols, guidelines and strategies within area of practice as necessary. 

• To ensure that the security of sensitive data is maintained and complies with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the organisation.

The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.
