A growing number of companies and financial institutions are seeking to mitigate their impacts on nature. But many have made commitments that are not being met, and others are failing to take any action at all. Through our Corporate Performance work and Forest 500 project, we assess the policies and performance of influential companies and financial institutions. Our newly launched Deforestation Action Tracker monitors financial institutions with significant climate commitments to track their action on deforestation and associated human rights abuses.
This newly created role will be part of our Corporate Performance team and will lead on the next phase of a groundbreaking project.This role sits under the Forest IQ team, along with two researchers and the Forest IQ Lead. This role will support the operational smooth running of the team, with a particular focus contracting and onboarding Forest IQ’s users.
Forest IQ provides major data-service providers and financial institutions with market-leading data about corporate performance on deforestation, conversion of natural ecosystems and associated human rights abuses. This will enable financial institutions to identify risks and opportunities to help them to deliver deforestation free portfolios by 2025.

The Middlesbrough Programme on Gendered Poverty is an exciting collaborative programme bringing together Buttle UK, the Smallwood Trust and Turn2us to test whether a co-produced & collaborative approach to grant-making can transform the lives of women and their children.
The programme aims to:
- Shift power to people worst impacted by gendered poverty and work to end gendered poverty
- Develop the programme using co-production techniques so that the voices and experiences of the women and their children, who face issues created by gendered poverty, inform and shape the programme
- Deliver the programme with and to communities of the most marginalised women and their children
- Apply an evidence-based approach to our work and programme design
- Use grants as a primary response and tool, effectively and efficiently
- Learn as we go and work to understand how intersections of inequality impact on our grant making
- Identify opportunities to influence other grant makers and policies to support wider system change.
We are seeking an energetic, organised and passionate Programme Manager who will work with us to take this programme to the next level. We want this project to be led and informed by the women affected by gendered poverty because we know it will help us have a greater impact and shift power.
The Programme Manager sits with Turn2us’ Local Programmes Team alongside two other programmes working with communities to achieve financial security for all.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working, however regular in person work in Middlesbrough and London will be required.

The Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting a Senior Sustainable Sourcing Manager to
- Lead the development and implementation of a UK commodity plan to deliver increased impact for producers and help achieve our ambitious strategy and income targets. This role will be focusing on Tea.
- Lead on the relationship management of some of our key commercial partnerships in UK supply chains who are critical intermediary partners supplying retail, brands and out of home partners
This is a core role within the Partnerships Directorate providing commodity and supply chain expertise and insights to both to internal and external stakeholders as well as working in close partnership with the global Fairtrade movement - Fairtrade International and Producer Networks - to deliver an integrated global strategy for positive change for producers.
You will need to be able to work autonomously and flexibly, with demonstrated success in independently managing and building relationships and project management. You will have good negotiation and listening skills and have a proactive and constructive approach to resolving problems in order to deepen relationships and drive growth of your assigned Fairtrade key commodity, providing impact for producers.
You’ll need to have strong supply chain expertise and a solid understanding of the wider commodity and sustainability context including UN Guiding Principles, Modern Slavery Act and Human Rights Due Diligence approaches. Tea industry experience and knowledge is desirable but not essential.
This role will suit someone who enjoys and has the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at various levels including with senior internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also be self sufficient and motivated to move things along with the ability to work collaboratively or independently depending on the specific commodity and the skills to manage multiple projects at the same time if required.

About the role
As Crisis’ Senior Media Officer, you will play a key role in delivering stand-out media campaigns that inspire the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their story and empower them to do so. You’ll help create hard-hitting news stories that engage our audiences and raise awareness of some of Crisis’ biggest organisational campaigns including our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist

Proven experience of leading on high-profile audience focused media strategies or pitching stories which secure coverage across news, consumer, online and regional media.

Proven experience of managing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders including journalists at all levels.

Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft copy for a range of audiences, including political, consumer, tabloid, trade and everything in between.

Excellent news sense, with a strong working knowledge of the UK media and ability to develop relationships with key media contacts.

Experience of working with case studies, identifying, and preparing them for speaking to the media and empowering people to share their experiences.
