Job summary

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity that supports members who work in, or are interested in, tropical medicine and global health.

In September 2028 it is hosting the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) on behalf of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM), in Liverpool, UK.

ICTMM 2028 expects to receive over 1,500 attendees, hopefully with over 40% coming from outside of Europe. It is an educational meeting with a high proportion of the content driven by abstracts. The event is being delivered by RSTMH with the support of a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO).

The ICTMM Events Manager has responsibility for coordinating the development and delivery of ICTMM 2028 at RSTMH, working with the RSTMH team, the PCO, the event venue ACC Liverpool, IFTM, and other suppliers.  The individual would be based at RSTMH where the role would start on a part-time basis and move to be full-time 17 months before the event.

The role requires an able self-starter who understand the logistics and considerations of running a scientific, abstract-driven event of 1,500+ attendees, of working with a PCO and of educational events attended by a high number of international guests.  There will be some travel to Liverpool and the role would require some overnight stays there before and during the event.

The candidate needs to have excellent event management and project management skills, communication and relationship building skills, and to be organised and flexible with a great attention to detail.  They should be as comfortable developing an events strategy, as answering queries about tickets sales, and negotiating sponsorship. Alongside delivering the ICTMM meeting there are opportunities for partners to deliver events at the same venue, which are also the responsibility of the events manager.

The role will start as one day per week and then move to be full time as we approach the event. The current expected timings are

• Up until 31 March 2026 – 7 hours/1 day per week
• 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 – 21 hours/3 days per week
• 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2028 – 35 hours/ 5 days per week

Up to 1 April 2027 the role is purely office based, and there is flexibility to work the hours between Tuesday and Friday (not Mondays). The role has core hours of 10am-4pm so the working day needs to be within these hours.

The role may require work in the evenings or weekends and potential time staying in Liverpool.

Main responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive project plan for all aspects of ICTMM 2028, working with the PCO, and be responsible for ensuring all stakeholders meet deadlines leading up to the event
• Coordinate stakeholders working on ICTMM 2028, ensuring all are up to date with progress and relations run smoothly – including RSTMH, PCO, conference venue, IFTM, ICTMM Strategic, Sponsorship and Scientific Committees and other third parties
• Work with RSTMH CEO to recruit Committee Chairs and members, develop a long list of partners and sponsors for funding and support, and develop legal agreements for these
• Develop and disseminate accurate and timely content about ICTMM through a dedicated website, a dedicated newsletter and other marketing materials, which is high quality, and accessible
• Work with the RSTMH CEO and PCO to deliver sponsorship and other financial support for the event
• Help coordinate meetings of the ICTMM Committees where needed
• Assist the PCO with activities to maximise attendance to the event
• Help deliver travel and accommodation, plus assist with visas for speakers and sponsored attendees
• Oversight and responsibility for the budget, and re-forecasting of income and expenditure for the event
• Work with the PCO on the logistics of the event management e.g. exhibition space and registration
• Assist RSTMH and the Scientific Committee to secure plenary speakers, assisting with logistics
• Establish and manage a system to monitor and evaluate progress towards ICTMM 2028
• Manage all ICTMM event enquiries that come through to RSTMH and forward to the relevant team
• Develop systems and processes to ensure we capture all data from ICTMM into our CRM

We convene over 70 Partner organisations, working together to make sure that the relationships and sex education (RSE) young people get is right for them. Context and purpose of the role

You will join a small, high-performing team responsible for generating £5 million per year from individual giving, legacies, grants and corporate partners, all to deliver the Ramblers ambition for a future where everyone can enjoy the benefits of walking in nature.

Working closely with the Product & Innovation Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the fundraising strategy, leading on the delivery of our individual giving and legacy marketing campaigns across a range of channels. You will create high-quality, compelling campaign materials and ensure an excellent donor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Income generation

• Play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the individual giving and legacy marketing strategy
• Support the growth of individual giving income in line with annual targets
• Develop and deliver regular cash and legacy marketing appeals to a high level, including:
  • Developing propositions and cases for support
  • Create compelling direct marketing materials, including writing persuasive copy and developing strong creative content
  • Project management to ensure delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Managing relationships with agencies and suppliers including design and print
• Manage a portfolio of affiliate fundraising campaigns

Donor stewardship

• Ensure the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and reporting
• Effectively manage communications with supporters, including ensuring that donations are thanked appropriately, managing fundraising inboxes, and responding to queries
• Working with the Production & Innovation Manager, identify a pipeline of potential mid- and high-value donors for stewardship and conversion

Data and reporting

• Produce campaign and programme level reporting and analysis
• Work closely with the data team to ensure selections are accurate, timely and relevant to our various audiences, and use income data to make recommendations for future campaigns
• Maintain accurate, up to date and compliant records of individual giving campaigns and appeals
• Provide regular financial reports and reforecasts to the Product & Innovation Manager and Head of Fundraising

Relationships

• Build strong working relationships with staff within various functions of the Ramblers
• Work with other members of the Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care teams to ensure that all supporter communications are part of an integrated supporter journey

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience working within a target-driven fundraising or direct marketing team, ideally within an individual giving context
• Experience of managing fundraising or marketing projects across a range of channels, such as direct mail, social media and email
• Experience of data-driven marketing campaigns, including segmentation and campaign analysis to meet objectives
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications to a wide range of audiences
• Excellent creative skills, including the ability to write compelling, accurate and persuasive copy across a range of channels
• Competent in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Role Overview:
Our Sport and Inclusion Tutor will lead, deliver and develop our intervention programmes, focusing on mentoring young people accessing our Tackle LIFE and Be You programmes. They will bring a wealth of teaching or youth work to our charity and use this experience to support some of the county’s most vulnerable young people. A normal week would include tutoring, sports delivery, and activities such as rock climbing and canoeing. It will also involve project management, as well as classroom coaching such as leadership and communication activities and working with the wider Foundation team to grow our reach in the local community. 

The Person:

Essential skills and experience:

- Experience of delivering inclusive sporting activities to children with a range of disabilities ranging from mild to complex.
- Experience of delivering sport in Primary, Middle and Secondary School environments.

You will manage the events team, overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of diverse events including major conferences, webinars and workshops. This role contributes to NCVO’s brand recognition, and fosters connection, learning and collaboration for its 17,000 members, and wider sector audience. You will develop and manage event budgets and continuously improve the programme based on evaluation and data.

About the role
Over the next five years, we’re embarking on an ambitious strategy to grow our fundraising income from around £1 million to £1.7 million. Alongside this, we’re investing significantly from our endowment to expand our campaigning, services, digital capabilities, and core infrastructure.

To help drive fundraising, we’re creating a new senior role: Supporter and Community Engagement Lead. This role will lead our supporter-led fundraising—covering regular giving, digital fundraising campaigns, community fundraising, and legacies—with a focus on expanding our donor base, improving supporter experience, and developing new, insight-led fundraising products.

We know there’s increasing demand from supporters and partners for more creative and meaningful ways to engage with our work. This strategic role brings the expertise and capacity needed to meet that demand—boosting engagement from current supporters and enabling us to reach new audiences.

This is a forward-facing role, ideal for someone who brings fresh thinking, strong external networks, and a deep understanding of sector trends. We’re looking for someone who loves working collaboratively across internal teams and can manage external partners/suppliers to develop bold, insight-led fundraising campaigns that grow income and deepen impact.

This role will work closely with Communications, Campaigns, and Research to ensure our fundraising and mobilisation plans support each other. You will work collaboratively to develop content that supports fundraising, and ensure that fundraising supports our digital engagement goals. This role will partner closely with the Services, Voice & Involvement team to actively involve young women in fundraising, making sure their voices, experiences, and stories are at the heart of how we inspire support and shape our fundraising strategy.

The Head of Communications at CBM UK is a crucial role, with responsibility for increasing the profile of CBM UK to enable the organisation to deliver its strategic objectives. This role has tactical and long-term strategic decision-making responsibility.
The post-holder is responsible for the development and implementation of the requisite communications plans, policies and procedures that are required to deliver CBM UK’s 2026-2030 strategy. Internal
a. Work with CBM UK and global colleagues and partners to ensure appropriate resources are available. This includes oversight of the collection of human-interest stories, images and film that portray people with dignity and respect, while challenging the stigma and misunderstanding around disability and global poverty.
b. Oversee the implementation of the CBM UK Sector Communications Strategy through attending regular meetings and collaboration with Programme and Advocacy teams. To manage the Communications Team to deliver the communications-led activities outlined in the strategy and ensure advocacy and evidence messaging and outputs are effectively communicated.
c. Build excellent working relationships with the CEO and Board.
d. Regularly review, update and provide training to CBM UK staff on the Crisis Communications Media Plan and be a member of the Crisis Communications Management Team.
e. Help increase CBM UK’s network of high-profile supporters to support fundraising and advocacy: maintain prospects spreadsheet, research contact details and background details, prepare briefs.
f. Support fundraising and advocacy teams to increase CBM UK’s network of high-profile supporters.
