About The Role
As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications.
This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. You’ll support applicants and funded partners, make funding recommendations, administer grants, provide feedback and support, and visit projects.
About You
First and foremost, you’ll be passionate about the work that Youth Music does. As a skilled administrator, you’re not fazed by planning, monitoring, reporting, and spreadsheets. You have an eye for detail. You’ve got good IT skills and working knowledge of how databases operate. With the development of our new database this is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys developing processes and working with data and detail.
You’re a collaborative worker who enjoys being part of a friendly team, as well as travelling on your own to build new relationships with a diverse range of people. As a grants manager you’ll have an instinct for what’s important – when to give advice, and when to step back.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Making
- Relationship management for a diverse portfolio of grants within allocated areas or specialisms.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the music/creative landscape and issues affecting your allocated areas.
- Provide telephone, online (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, webinars) and email advice to potential applicants.

Travel Requirements:
This role will require circa 6 weeks of UK travel per year to deliver our residential courses. Each course is up to one week in duration.

The role of Training Manager is a vital part of the Learning and Development team, leading on our core calendar of purpose-led, residential training programmes as well as managing the compliance and mandatory training needs of our people.

Main role and responsibilities
As Training Manager, you will be responsible for the development, planning and delivery of ShelterBox's core training calendar. This encompasses our range of mandatory and compliance training courses, alongside our residential training programmes and any other programmes as decided in collaboration with the Head of Learning and Development. Through careful planning, budgeting and engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure the core calendar and associated training content is relevant to the evolving business needs and is able to be accessed by all who require it. You will ensure the stewardship and maintenance of our training resources, and relationship management of key contacts at our training venues and volunteers to enable long-term, sustainable delivery of our programmes. In addition, you will support the delivery of other L&D solutions as required by other organisational requirements.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Annual planning of our core training calendar in-line with the business planning and budgeting cycle
- Development and management of the budget to enable the delivery of the core training calendar in-line with the budgeting cycle and promoting the best value-for money
- Planning and delivery of the Travel Security Training programme in-line with the requirements of the Deployable Personnel Minimum Training Standards Policy
- Planning and delivery of the We Are ShelterBox programme in-line with the induction pathway and business need
- Working with the People Assistant, ensure the management of all course and participant logistics including travel, accommodation and expenses.
- Scheduling and delivery of all compliance and mandatory training programmes including, but not limited to: GDPR; Cyber Security; Anti-Money Laundering; Anti Bribery; Payment Card Industry; First Aid; Trauma Risk Management; Fire Marshall, Etc.
- Maintenance and resupply of all training resources required to deliver our core calendar programmes, including inventory management of our 40ft shipping container.
- Business partnering with key risk owners such as Head of Legal and Risk, IT Service and Security Manager, Facilities Manager, and Head of Security to ensure our compliance needs are being met with the course content we have available, amending as necessary.
- Track and report on the compliance of our people against our mandatory and compliance programmes, feeding into the People and Risk Committee papers.
- Manage all risk assessment and mitigations processes for our training programmes, ensuring they are up to date, relevant to the risks faced on our programmes and our compliance with them.
- Support the management of the Qualsafe-registered "ShelterBox Training Centre" that enables the delivery of in-house first aid qualifications.
- Deliver Qualsafe-regulated, in-house first aid training as well as developing and delivering austere first aid training packages relevant to our work in high-risk environments.
- Develop and manage relationships with external service providers and volunteers to enable the sustainable delivery of our residential training programmes.
- Work with the learning management system to ensure all learning initiatives are tracked and monitored for completion.
- Support the delivery of capacity sharing initiatives with our programme partners in high-risk locations as required by the Programme Delivery team.

Overview
The Campaigns and Alumni Relations Office (CAR) at the University of Sheffield is dedicated to inspiring alumni (former students) to make philanthropic gifts, as well as giving their time and expertise. A donation to the University of Sheffield can change lives, from supporting students in financial need to furthering world-leading research.
As part of CAR, the Individual Giving team encourages people to make gifts of up to £10,000 using a data-driven approach and a range of communication channels. We’re looking for a skilful communicator and project manager to join us.
The Individual Giving Manager will deliver a multi-channel fundraising strategy to encourage people to give at ‘mid-value’ level (£1,000-£10,000 each year) through direct mail and digital fundraising You’ll also support the wider team by project managing mass fundraising appeals that solicit gifts of all sizes by direct mail and email.
You’ll also be responsible for producing stewardship communications, including reports, that thank donors giving over £1,000.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Deliver a multi-channel fundraising strategy to encourage people to give at ‘mid-value’ level (£1,000-£10,000 each year) through direct mail and digital fundraising.
- Manage and build an active portfolio of individuals capable of making mid-value gifts, engaging this group with tailored communications.

The role:
The Learning and Teaching Manager will play a key role in this team, managing and supporting Learning Coordinators to manage our projects. This role will not involve leading workshops with students or teachers directly. Instead, you will be responsible for developing our products, the strategy behind them, and ensuring that they are delivered to a high quality by the Learning Coordinators who manage them and freelance theatre practitioners engaged to deliver them. You will have management responsibility for 3 to 4 people and, with the support of the Senior Learning Manager, will help them to develop and deliver their best work.
You will also contribute to new projects by working closely with the Senior Learning Manager and Director of Education on bespoke requests from new partners (we get a lot of interesting organisations reaching out to us!) and helping to shape new mission-led initiatives, both in the UK and worldwide.

The purpose of the post is to:
· Develop and deliver HI UK’s strategy for high-net-worth individuals.
· Lead on the new Capital Campaign, 2026-2030, for HI UK.
· Work closely with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and family foundations to develop high-value philanthropic partnerships and ensure sustained, long-term support.
· Secure five- and six-figure major gifts from a diverse and sustainable base of major donors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships
You will have responsibility for developing a new strategy for high-net-worth individual support and you will lead the delivery of this strategy to secure high-value philanthropic partnerships under the responsibility of the Global Specialist in Major Giving.
Capital Campaign
Our new Capital Campaign will be an invaluable tool for you in developing funding from high-net-worth individuals in the UK. You will lead on its launch and recruit a Campaign Committee, stewarding them to deliver results.
Relationship Management
You will lead on the development and stewardship of long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and family foundations.
Income Growth
You will drive the growth of an existing pipeline of high-net-worth individuals and develop this pipeline with new supporters from our individual giving stream and philanthropists who are new to HI, to secure significant gifts.
Collaboration
You will work closely with HI's Global Specialist in Major Giving, HI UK Trustees, our Federal Major Giving team, and international colleagues, to develop compelling proposals and provide timely impact reporting.
Stewardship
You will ensure exceptional donor stewardship and provide a high-quality experience for supporters at every stage of engagement.
Cultivation events
You will initiate and run high quality cultivation events for your donors and prospects, to form part of their stewardship journey.
Data Management
You will accurately manage donor records, communications, and reporting through our CRM.
Other duties
· Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues, the Federal fundraising and communication teams, and Major Giving counterparts in other HI national associations in Europe and North America.
· Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and high standards.
· Keep up-to-date and adhere to any changes in legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation, best practice and industry standards in relation to private fundraising.

Moving Medicine is an award-winning initiative of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM) aimed at improving health through physical activity. We are expanding our impact through the development of additional Moving Medicine resources for patients. This role will include project managing two large, interlinked projects, with time split across both:
One project is in conjunction with Nuffield Health, the project funders, will initially focus on publishing the newly built Moving Medicine Everyone website (due for publication in November 2025) and accompanying educational resources.
