About the Role

Our Ayrshire and Arran Infant Feeding Peer Support Project is commissioned by NHS Ayrshire and Arran to offer infant feeding support as part of the integrated Infant Feeding service. The support is delivered, on a one to one basis to the families from an antenatal through to when your baby is 6-8 weeks old, in families homes, via phone, text and video calls.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing one to one breastfeeding support to families within Ayrshire and Arran, at peoples homes, via phone, text and video calls.

· Inputting information onto patients records within platforms used by the health professionals in the region.

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Ayrshire and Arran area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 16 hours per week which to be worked in 4 hours shifts over 4 days. This role is based within the community across Ayrshire and Arran.

Key Responsibilities

Institutional Fundraising & Relationship Management

• Identify and engage potential institutional funders and foundations both in the UK and internationally.

Introduction

Reporting into the Head of Planning & Delivery, this role is the central link between our reactive and planned reactive teams and the rest of the organisation, in particular Country Comms, Policy & Advocacy, and Campaign & Mobilisation teams. It is responsible for making sure all our reactive and planned-reactive comms are managed and delivered across appropriate owned and earned channels.? Strategic Communications colleagues, Media and PR teams, Delivery Managers, key stakeholders across the organisation, and our Content & Creative teams will be your day to day partners.

This role needs to be collaborative, resilient and able to adapt quickly to new information and shifting priorities, understanding when decisions are needed and making sure the right people are involved. Comfortable working in a fast moving environment, collaborating with colleagues across the RSPB and acting as a conduit to keep all teams and stakeholders informed, this role needs to maintain a broad view of activities on all comms channels so that changes can quickly be updated and communicated to the wider group.

This role is required to support the work of the Campaign & Mobilisation team, by delivering reactive and planned reactive one-off emails and/or website updates. This means you will need to be comfortable switching between different ways of working (agile and waterfall) and be able to prioritise your own workload effectively. You will be taking briefs from Activity Owners and managing the delivery work, working closely with our Traffic Management and Content & Creative teams.

This role is expected to be a key part of our planning cycle, making sure our activities across channels are coordinated and aligned. Role specific tasks include:

Position Overview: 

At CPI we believe people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking a Grants Officer (Associate)   based in Europe to join our CPI Europe (CPIE) team. Your role is  critical  in ensuring the smooth delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the effective administration of grants including ongoing due diligence and accurate record keeping, contributing to assessing proposals and organisations, stewarding and maintaining effective relationships with grantees and wider partners,  and ensuring compliance, timely reporting and payments. The salary range for this role is £40,934 - £50,759, mapped to years of experience and region. The consultant will lead investigations into the ‘The UK’s benefit from funded Health Partnerships under the DHSC funded GHWP’.

As benefit back to the UK becomes increasingly important in the evolving funding landscape, GHP is commissioning a study to explore and examine the value of DHSC-funded health partnerships to the UK health system. While bi-directional learning and mutual benefit have been highlighted through GHWP reports and sharing and learning events, these insights have not yet been fully synthesised or clearly articulated in a way that supports future funding and policy positioning.

We wish to commission a short-term consultancy to review and examine existing literature and data, including published and grey literature, including GHWP reports, reports from other DHSC-funded GHP projects, and other available documentation on the benefits of global health engagement to the UK. (see Related Papers section). 

Some qualitative data collection may potentially be involved.

Assignment 

Aim  

The aim is to produce a concise, evidence-based report that captures key themes such as professional development, system learning, innovation exchange, and reputational value, demonstrating the tangible and strategic returns to the UK from its investment in global health and global health partnerships.  

Objectives 

1. To identify and analyse the professional and institutional gains for UK health workers and organisations involved in the implementation of the GHWP. 

1. To assess how the GHWP work has contributed to UK health worker and health system strengthening, innovation, and global health leadership. 

1. To build on existing literature and evaluations, including from other DHSC-funded GHP programmes to provide a robust evidence base for the mutual benefits of global health partnerships. 

Outcomes  

• Re-centre Health Partnerships as a key component of the UK’s global health offer, showcasing benefits to the UK.   

• Encourage greater support within the NHS for institutional engagement in global health and support within the UK Government for increased spending on global health. 

Lead Knowledge Mobilisation for Central Research Question 

Focus areas:  

Examine the benefits of Health Partnerships for the UK, using and building on GHP and other data and evidence. 

Indicative areas of focus (to be finalised in consultation with the GHP team)  

• In what ways have GHP been successful in bringing benefits to the UK at an institutional as well as individual level?   

• How has GHWP work in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria provided tangible and strategic benefits to the UK? 

• Highlight through selected case studies how UK individuals and institutions are benefitting personally/professionally because of Health Partnership work.  

• Provide examples of how global health innovations and/or ways of working are benefitting UK institutions because of Health Partnerships work, and/or the engagement of diaspora health workers in Health Partnerships. 

In the submission the consultant should submit a technical proposal outlining the approach and methodology for the study, including the key research questions. This will then be developed further with the GHP team. 

Methodology  

Desk review to include the following: 

• GHWP reports (HP reports as well as GHP reporting to DHSC)

• Available GHWP quantitative and qualitative data. 

• Other DHSC-funded programme reporting and material where feasible. 

• Published literature examining the benefits of Health Partnerships to the UK. 

Qualitative data collection 

Key informant and in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, if required 

Proposed Timeframe  

The work is to be undertaken between August and November 2025. 

Contractual Responsibilities  

Reports to: The Technical Director, based in the UK, who will provide technical oversight of the study. The Consultant will be responsible for managing their workload and conducting the activities in a timely and efficient manner as set out in this document. The Consultant will agree with the Technical Director which aspects to prioritise. The Consultant will also have regular reporting points with the Head of the Evidence and Impact Team and other GHWP colleagues, as required. 

The contract will run from August 2025 over a 4month period. The Consultant will submit a technical proposal and budget of up to £14,000 for the whole programme of work. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable.

When a family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience for the whole family. They can feel very isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through.

Back Up’s Family Support Service is there to help. We enable a wide range of family members of all ages whose loved one is affected by spinal cord injury (SCI) to improve their wellbeing, build a support network and transform their lives through Back Up’s services. 

The Family Support Coordinator will assist in supporting family members on an individual basis as well as in group settings as appropriate, together with providing support in the process of identifying, recruiting and training new family support volunteers.

A Family Support Coordinator will be comfortable and efficient with data management and GDPR compliance.

Lived experience of having a relative with SCI is essential, together with sharing our commitment to transform the lives of everyone affected by spinal cord injury.

When a family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience for the whole family. They can feel very isolated and that no one understands what they’re going through.

Back Up’s Family Support Service is there to help. We enable a wide range of family members of all ages whose loved one is affected by spinal cord injury (SCI) to improve their wellbeing, build a support network and transform their lives through Back Up’s services. 

The Family Support Coordinator will assist in supporting family members on an individual basis as well as in group settings as appropriate, together with providing support in the process of identifying, recruiting and training new family support volunteers.

A Family Support Coordinator will be comfortable and efficient with data management and GDPR compliance.

Lived experience of having a relative with SCI is essential, together with sharing our commitment to transform the lives of everyone affected by spinal cord injury.

National Numeracy supports volunteers from our corporate partners to deliver sessions in primary schools
that inspire children to see the value of maths in the real world. The Programme enables volunteers to
directly support communities with low number confidence and skills, celebrating everyday maths, and
developing the building blocks of social mobility in areas of need.

The new Programmes Assistant will work with the Volunteering Manager and wider Programmes Team to
deliver this exciting Programme. The role will involve working with internal team members and external
partners to assist with delivery, including recruitment of volunteers and schools, training of volunteers,
resource delivery and preparation, feedback, data collection and associated admin. The Programmes
Assistant will be the first point of contact for volunteers, schools and partner organisations.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and able to respond to the fast-paced work around the busiest
periods of the year for the Programme. It’s not imperative that you come from the education or charity
sectors, or that you have held an equivalent role previously, as long as you can show us that you have
relevant transferable skills and an understanding of what it takes to be successful in this role.

National Numeracy is based in Falmer, just outside Brighton, but we are offering significant remote/hybrid
and flexible working with this role. The role may include occasional UK travel, to visit schools, partner
organisations, attend occasional Team Awaydays, and very occasionally to visit the office.
