Learning and Development Advisor

We are looking for a proactive and passionate Learning and Development Advisor to lead on the review, implementation and ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of the Leadership Development Programme. 

This role is full-time and is home-based with some travel throughout England and Wales as required.

The Role

This is an exciting role that requires a mixture of skills in relation to learning and development.  You will be focusing on leadership and management development across the organisation.  It will include the design and delivery of innovative learning interventions that support the development of leaders and managers.  Modern thinking and practice are essential for this role, as well as a good understanding of leadership and management development.

The L&D Team want to step away from ‘traditional’ and you will need to be creative, motivated, and brave, generating and implementing new ways of enhancing the leader’s development.  You will have scope and space to try new interventions, evaluate impact and make a difference to our overall organisational strategy.

• Use your creativity and ability to experiment in introducing innovative and modern learning practices across the organisation

It is essential to be able to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing and conflicting demands in an organised and effective manner.  The post is for 37.5 hours per week and a degree of flexibility is necessary.  This role will work from home but will have moderate travel nationally across the organisation.

Role Purpose:

The Helpline Supervisor will provide support, guidance and supervise the helpline advisors and in the future helpline volunteers. The role will further provide emotional support and debriefing for the helpline advisors and volunteers during each helpline shift and when appropriate after each reported incident. We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans.

The Role

Join a co-operative providing British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters and developing tech to support to users. The co-operative is co-run and co-owned by its members, who are Deaf people and BSL interpreters. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Operations Team Leader to provide a high quality and efficient service, helping the business to achieve agreed targets whilst working to the co-operative’s ethos. 

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the provision of communication professionals for Deaf/Hard of Hearing people across for medical (including mental health) appointments and for other work in a variety of sectors (education, child protection, conference, employment, legal settings etc)
• Accepting and making calls
• Dealing with bookings and general enquiries in a fast-paced environment
• Supporting marketing and business development and communicating to members and external stakeholders
• Supporting other staff where necessary
