Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Provide intensive one-to-one support to small-and-medium-sized organisations in relation to finance and accounting, including the analysis of their current, and potentially complex, financial and accounting policies, practices, and procedures
• Develop new and/or improved project, programme, and/or service delivery models for small-and-medium-sized organisations in relation to finance and accounting
• Deliver and facilitate workshops and trainings with small-and-medium-sized. organisations which enable collective learning and problem solving in relation to finance and accounting (including Microsoft Excel).
• Continue development of a digital resource hub in relation to generic financial and accounting tools, as well as information, advice, and guidance on current financial needs and issues.
• Oversee all processes, including budget monitoring, risk management, analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and evaluation and reporting
• Keep abreast of current issues, developments, legislation, and guidance in relation to finance, accounting, and the UK economic climate.
• Support small-and-medium sized organisations in financial and economic crisis to ensure their overall viability and sustainability
• Support the development of funding bids and applications.
• Responsible for preparing statutory accounts.

• Qualified by Experience (QBE) or a recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)

Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway, working specifically in the West of the region. As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway.  This will include barrier identification and removal, supporting pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area. 

You will identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the West of Dumfries and Galloway, building an effective presence within the third sector locally.  You will create diverse, high-quality, structured volunteering opportunities with charity partner organisations, ensuring that volunteering roles reflect the needs and interests of those we support. You will also support the creation of strong referral pathways into our service, and beyond it, building on a knowledge of existing provision

• Engaging directly with people to understand their wants, needs and aspirations and determine the best opportunity for each person, and provide the support they need in advance of volunteering.

• Developing and maintaining good relationships with referral partners such as The Council, DWP, SDS etc to ensure a steady stream of referrals are received.

• Identifying, creating and developing relationships with new charity partners or agencies to provide bespoke and tailored volunteering opportunities.  These opportunities will support the individuals supported to gain experience, confidence and support them on route to a positive destination.

• Supporting with funding applications and opportunities

• Researching and engaging with partners to provide required coverage of placement sector.

• Managing the risk assessment, quality assurance and audit processes as appropriate.

• Ensuring monitoring, impact and evaluation information and data is collected and that the project meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  Assist the Delivery Leader by preparing reports to funders.

• Ensuring all the above is done with excellent record keeping, in accordance with compliance requirements.

The Role

As Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a central role in helping Winning Scotland deliver sustainable growth by identifying and securing new income across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory and government funding, and public sector contracts.

Working closely with programme leads and the senior leadership team, you’ll research, prioritise, and secure funding opportunities to support the charity’s ambitious growth plans over the next 2–3 years. We are seeking a Programme Manager (Loneliness) to join the Astra Foundation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our growing grants portfolio tackling loneliness among young people in the UK and France.

Overall purpose

The Employer Engagement Manager (EEM) will play a critical role in ensuring refugees supported by Breaking Barriers access meaningful, opportunities that align with client needs and labour market demand. The postholder will lead employer outreach and partnership building in priority sectors and embed consistent systems and processes that make employer engagement coordinated and impactful across the organisation. The EEM will support pathways, work placements, recruitment pipelines and workshops by ensuring employer input is actively embedded where relevant.

This is a strategic, hands-on role, the successful candidate will map and cultivate employer relationships, secure employer input into sector pathways, workshops and recruitment initiatives, translate labour market intelligence into programme improvements, and design the operational processes that enable Programmes and Corporate Partnerships to work together effectively. You will operate in a matrix environment, collaborating closely with the Programmes, Corporate Partnerships and Client Services teams but will not hold direct line-management of delivery staff.

The role is set up to be ambitious but achievable within 12 months. The priority is to build tested, repeatable employer engagement practice (relationships, processes, insight-sharing and measurable impact) that can form the foundations of a permanent employer engagement function if/when funding allows.

The Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI) in the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM) is recruiting a Project Manager: Assurance & Finance for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative, a high-profile initiative delivered in partnership with Science for Africa (SFA) Foundation, based in Nairobi, and Mastercard Foundation.

PSI was established in 2021 as a University-wide initiative to build on the model of innovation, collaboration and agility that delivered breakthroughs during COVID-19. Through excellence in research and equitable global partnerships, PSI aims to safeguard health and economic stability for future generations, with support from a wide range of funders.

As Project Manager, you will serve as PSI’s primary assurance and finance specialist for the Collaborative. This is an exciting and wide-ranging role which offers exposure to senior stakeholders within and beyond the University. Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager and the NDM Director of Compliance & Assurance you will support the management of a budget of up to $80 million, reviewing overseas expenditure, preparing f financial reports, and coordinating annual re-budgeting processes. The role will involve analysing and interpreting complex financial data, maintaining detailed trackers and documentation, supporting with risk management, , and ensuring effective communication across diverse programme stakeholders. Some international travel to Africa will be required.

We are looking for an individual with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, proven experience managing assurance, compliance and finance activities within complex international programmes, and a solid grasp of financial systems and processes. You should be highly skilled in Excel and able to prepare, monitor and forecast large, activity-based budgets. The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the confidence to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders and committees. You should be comfortable influencing, challenging, and guiding decisions in a collaborative way, with well-developed problem-solving skills and an interest in global health and/or international development.

It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant subject, and that you have. experience working in resource-constrained settings and/or within complex international partnerships. Experience gained in higher education or research settings and a professional finance or assurance qualification (completed or in progress) would be an advantage.

About the role

As Operations & Office Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day management of the office, oversee administrative systems, and act as the key point of contact for operational matters. You will be responsible for the membership and donors’ database (Beacon) keeping up to date and reporting back on results, whilst ensuring data compliance and implementation of data. You will be highly proficient in the use of business IT systems in particular Microsoft Excel to analyse data, and you will also have at least one year’s experience, or equivalent, in producing detailed and insightful reports.

The post-holder will be a confident communicator and collaborator with proven relationship building and creative and innovative fundraising skills. You will also support the development of our fundraising communications, monitoring performance across all channels driving best practice and income growth. You will generate and develop engaging fundraising communications and be responsible for your own copywriting, including thanking our wonderful donors via the most appropriate communication channels. 

This varied role will give you the opportunity to further your fundraising skills across a broad range of income generating activities as well as build strong, professional relationships to benefit the SCS’ charitable objectives.
