As PMO Lead, you'll work closely with the Head of Strategy & Programme Management to embed consistent and effective practices across a central portfolio of projects and programmes. You will bring technical expertise, practical project and programme management experience and a collaborative approach to working across teams and levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of consistent project and programme management tools and methods across the organisation
• Support, upskill and coach Sponsors, Business Change Managers and Project Managers to fulfil their roles effectively
• Collaborate with project leads to ensure clear project scopes, risk management and reporting processes
• Support and challenge Project Managers, Sponsors & Business Owners across the Association to ensure the benefits of projects/programmes are defined, measured and learning points shared.
• Establish and manage a central log of projects, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting
• Ensure project benefits are identified, measured and reviewed, and that learning is captured
• Shape a centrally managed change portfolio to help deliver the organisation's strategy
• Develop and maintain reporting processes across all organisational projects
• Create and run a cross-organisational community/forum for project professionals to build skills and share learning
• Partner with the Learning & Development team to build capability in project and programme delivery
• Support the identification of project interdependencies and escalate issues for resolution

About You:

• In-depth understanding of the core elements of a successful PMO
• Recognised qualification in project or programme management, ideally with a PMO-specific certification
• Demonstrable experience of setting up and running a PMO in a similar organisational context
• Experience managing projects or programmes, with sound knowledge of relevant methodologies
• Skilled in supporting others to use consistent project and programme approaches
• Proficient in project management software such as MS Project
• Confident working across teams and functions to embed tools and approaches
• Able to clearly communicate, influence and support decision making at senior levels

Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. This will include managing the Media and PR Manager, working with key stakeholders such as the Royal Press Office and key funding and programme partners, and supporting delivery of Orbis UK integrated marketing campaigns

ii) Implementing grant communication plans by creating content for website, social media and press activities for key partnerships

Purpose of the post

To encourage the development of local churches’ response to poverty and social justice across the Diocese of Manchester, with a focus on developing sustainable projects that look to address the root causes of poverty.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Development and Delivery

• Work with the CEO of Greater Together Manchester to develop a work plan for engaging with existing parish based social justice projects and initiatives, with a focus on shifting from crisis response to prevention.
• Provide a range of development support to new projects and initiatives.
• Be the contact person for parishes seeking advice and support on addressing issues of social justice.
• Keep up to date with the work of national, regional and local organisations and charities that work in this space, as well as keeping up to date with government policies, initiatives and communicating these effectively to parishes and communities. 
• Develop effective monitoring and evaluation systems that demonstrate the impact of GTM’s development work.

Revitalisation and Promotion of Church-Based Social Justice Work

• To meet with leaders from churches across the Diocese to assess their social justice work and offer support and guidance where necessary.

Person Specification

Experience: 

• Experience of working with church and community-based groups and projects

As the new Challenge Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Challenge Events Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.

Over the past year, we have seen significant growth in the number of people wanting to sign up to challenge events and raise money for The Passage and we have ambitious plans as part of our new three-year strategy. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity that will take the lead on our third party and bespoke challenge events. You will bring enthusiasm and experience that aim to raise The Passage’s profile and reach as well as significant income. You’ll manage annual events, test new event concepts and support our growing network of event participants. This is a varied role with lots of potential for growth and development. You will proactively monitor trends and conduct competitor research and analysis to ensure that our event’s portfolio is competitive and attractive to supporters.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Supporter Engagement and Corporate Partnerships team to build and expand our events programme, whilst stewarding existing supporters and engaging new audiences. A key focus of this role is to provide excellent stewardship to boost engagement and optimise fundraising. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning and creation of engaging content for emails to build a strong sense of community. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting new supporters, nurturing relationships and providing exceptional stewardship to ensure long-term, reliable support.

You will already have well established relationships with Executive Departments, other funders and the voluntary and community sector and you will use this to share learning and insight from our funding, lead consultations and identify opportunities for future collaboration. You will convene both grantholder and stakeholder networks to inform our analysis and ensure that community voice is at the heart of our decision-making.

You will be part of a policy and practice network across the Fund, working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to develop One-Fund approaches to our missions.
