About the role:

Respect is looking for a new Safe & Together Implementation Lead to cover maternity leave for the current postholder. This role is primarily based in Croydon and Bedfordshire local authorities. We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience in service delivery within the Children's Services and Domestic Abuse sectors, including monitoring, evaluation, and improvement. You will be a confident planner and negotiator within the sector, providing training, consultations, and coaching. 

About you:

• Track record of driving service delivery improvements in the Children's Service relating to Domestic Abuse and children's safeguarding.

About the role

At the Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year. We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.

This role is an exciting new opportunity to shape and deliver on Motability Foundation’s aims to become more insights led and to systematically involve disabled people in our decision making. You will support the Head of Insight and Evaluation in providing the organisation with insight drawn from existing research, primary research, business data and through user insight. The role will lead development of a user insight approach and clear mechanisms to involve disabled people in the Foundation’s decisions systematically. The role will establish a user insight research community (akin to a customer panel but broader in scope), which the organisation can draw from for user insight.

The role is also responsible for delivering a strategic research and insight plan for the organisation to inform operational and strategic decisions, including feeding into our strategy mid-term review. Others in the organisations will also carry out research and hence this function has a role in setting standards for quality research, a coordinating role in ensuring a cross-organisational understanding of ongoing research to avoid duplication, and to draw insights and disseminate these to relevant internal and external audiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the head of team by developing a strategic insight research plan.
• Lead the delivery of the insight research plan, including developing clear research briefs, working with external suppliers to deliver research and where appropriate deliver research in-house.
• Establish a user insight capability in line with good practice and mature this capability over time.
• In collaboration with key internal customers, establish a framework for when and how to engage with disabled people regarding decisions.
• Develop and set standards for good quality research and insight for the organisation, including ensuring disabled people can fully and equitably participate in research/user insight exercises.
• Ensure that planned research and insight generation by the insight function is completed to a high standard, aligned with good practice.
• Set up and lead a cross-organisational research forum and ensure this mechanism is effective in avoiding duplication and creating alignment.
• Lead development and implementation of a communications plan to ensure insight generated reaches the right internal and external audiences.
• Ensure a framework to monitor and evaluate the usefulness and impact of insight generated is in place.
• Ensure all research carried out by the function meets GDPR requirements.

The insight capability is a new function in the organisation and as a result this role will lead on its development over time. Your experience

Must haves:

• Experience of delivering user insight and/or running customer/consumer panels and/or working with supporter panels.
• Ability to design and develop research programmes and have highly developed analytical skills.
• Highly developed ability to work collaboratively with other teams across the organisation.
• Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and the compelling presentation of insights, through engaging reports, infographics, and dashboards.
• Relevant qualification in an analytical discipline such as social sciences, economics or evidence of significant relevant professional experience.
• Experience managing research projects or commissioning external consultants.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Line and/or team management experience.

We feel that experience of setting up and/or managing consumer, customer or supporter panels is relevant. However, please note that as a Foundation we do not fundraise and as such are not looking to develop a supporter panel.

Nice to haves

• Experience of disability inclusive research – this is essential to the role. However, we will ensure appropriate training for those who do not have these skills.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools (e.g., MAXQDA, R) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).
• Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills and familiarity with working with large datasets.

Reporting lines and relationships

Reports to: Head of Insight and Evaluation.

Key relationships: Heads and programme managers in Charitable Operations, Head of Communications team and relevant managers, Policy team colleagues and over time other teams across the organisation looking for (user) insight. Relationships with external agencies and suppliers.

Direct reports: Initially 1 direct report in the form of a Research Manager with plans for a further junior role to be added to the team in future years.

Extra Information

• The role is based In Harlow, Essex at Motability’s offices, easily commutable from London, 30 minutes from Liverpool Street station or 18 minutes from Tottenham Hale station. We offer a shuttle bus from the Harlow Town train station to the office.

Community Cleanup Champion

Are you a community-minded person who is self-confident, energetic, reliable and enjoys being outside?   

There are part-time roles available with community litter picking charity CleanupUK, who need help in their mission to engage people in looking after their local environment.   

If you have a few hours a week to spend encouraging local communities and organisations to litter pick, then this could really suit you.    

CleanupUK is recruiting three Community Cleanup Champions to work closely with our partner organisations in one of the following areas, encouraging local litter picking via our Cleanup Hub network: 

• One role covering: Salford and Manchester

• Two roles covering: Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, and Tower Hamlets (Split of boroughs to be decided) 

Cleanup hubs are spaces to store equipment for individuals and groups in the community to use. By hosting this equipment and loaning it out, Cleanup Hubs are championing volunteering in the community and promoting litter picking. 

CleanupUK provides equipment and promotional support to help Cleanup Hubs get started with litter picking and engaging local people.   

Cleanup Champions work closely with Cleanup Hubs and other partner organisations to encourage more people to get involved in litter picking locally. 

We are keen to find cheerful people, with a sense of fun, who care about the environment and enjoy chatting to people of all backgrounds.   

Main Purpose of the Role:   

• To increase the number of people borrowing litter picking equipment from the Cleanup Hubs in your local area. 

• To represent CleanupUK at a local level by attending litter picking events and supporting the development of the Cleanup Hub network.   

• To develop strong relationships with partner organisations in the community: 

• Supporting existing Cleanup Hubs to increase levels of engagement in their area by contacting new groups. 

• Research and develop potential new partner organisations. 

Key Tasks include:   

• Liaising with Cleanup Hubs and local communities.  

• Hosting and attending events and reporting back to CleanpUK’s Operational Team.   

• Helping to keep active records of the litter picking that is taking place. This includes: ensuring litter picking statistics are being logged online by hubs, taking photos for our social media channels, and making notes on our shared database. 

• Promoting the project locally, both on the ground and online.   

• Online research to help us to identify new community partners, and attending online or face to face meetings with new prospective partners. 

• Attending monthly team meetings online, and an annual face to face day-long team meeting. 

• Developing an awareness of local funding opportunities and communicating these to our fundraising team.

• Occasional support to CleanupUK’s corporate partnership team may also be required such as leading a litter picking for a company.

The Foundation is an education charity based in Hartlebury, Worcestershire with an honourable history. Having its roots in the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School founded in the 16th century, it became the ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Foundation’ charity in 1987. The charity owns and derives income from the original ‘Queen Elizabeth 1 Grammar School’ premises in Hartlebury and from its investment portfolio.

It’s key purpose is to benefit local schools and individuals by making financial awards to enhance and support educational opportunities. It seeks and considers applications from local schools or from individual pupils or students resident in the local area. We are committed to this aim and to developing our grant-making. The Foundation’s area of benefit is ‘the ancient parish of Hartlebury’, which is slightly larger than the current parish of Hartlebury.

About the role

We’re recruiting a senior officer for our Service Pledge programme, who will play a key role in the development and delivery of our service improvement activities.

The Service Pledge is an innovative programme dedicated to delivering lasting positive change to everyone’s experience of breast cancer. It brings patients, healthcare professionals and cancer alliances together to work in partnership to design and deliver patient-centred improvements.

Your role will be to coordinate the delivery of our Service Pledge programme, as well as supporting other healthcare professional support and engagement initiatives, helping to ensure everyone diagnosed with breast cancer receives the best possible experience of care.

Working closely with the brand, marketing, communications team and other colleagues across breast cancer now to ensure all patient experience work is consistent with brand guidelines and have a joined up approach across the UK.

About you

Are you an experienced project manager, able to demonstrate successful delivery within specified timelines and budgets? You’ll be able to develop and manage strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior healthcare professionals and people affected by breast cancer.

You’ll have experience of carrying out qualitative and quantitative insight research, including surveys and focus groups. You will also have experience and knowledge of patient involvement and/or service improvement, ideally either within the NHS or charity sector.

The Organisation
