Job description

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Assistant Financial Accountant Corporate Fundraiser to support all processes to ensure all financial transactions are accurate and recorded accordingly.

The Role: 
•    You’ll process elements of debtors and creditors.
•    You’ll assist in the preparation and submission of accurate monthly VAT returns and updating VAT records.
•    You’ll support with financial transactions such as reporting, invoicing, cash management, credit control, accounting and cash flow related matters for subsidiaries.
•    You’ll reconcile the monthly payroll.
•    You’ll provide training and guidance for staff as required.
•    You’ll support in maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
•    You’ll support in testing finance system upgrades and introduction of new models in Unit 4.
•    You’ll create process manuals for all areas of financial accounting.
•    This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once a month on average.

The Candidate: 
•    You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values-Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count.
We are looking for candidates who have the following:
•    Worked in financial accounting sector.
•    Experience using and understanding accounting systems and their processes.
•    Knowledge on VAT and Corporation Tax.
•    Strong persuasion skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
•    Experience supporting with supporting with financial transactions and other office procedures.
•    Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
•    Experience in creating manuals and training.
•    Knowledge or prioritisation with the ability to effectively manage your workload.
