SCI is recruiting for the Director of Stakeholder Engagement, reporting to the CEO, with responsibility for the membership and innovation programmes. The role has responsibility for engaging and growing membership, including continuing to build the expanding corporate partner network, which includes large global blue-chip companies as well as SMEs. Responsibilities also include management of the team of six to deliver the range of membership programmes including the awards programme, careers programmes and the innovation programmes. The role sits on the Senior Management Team responsible for driving the strategy of the charity.
Key areas of responsibility are:
§ Growing membership and membership income.
§ Management of the growing blue-chip Corporate Partners Network.
§ Management of the SCI Awards Programme with awards across the range of early, mid, and senior levels.
§ Management of the SCI Early Career programmes, including the College of Scholars and the SCIdea Entrepreneurs Programme.
§ Coordination of the Innovation Programmes (in collaboration with the CEO and Head of Innovation).
The role is diverse and presents an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of growing membership or income, who has worked in innovation or industry, and who is able to build strong relationships at a senior level to grow and collaborate with a community that is having a direct impact on society through advancing scientific innovation. Candidates will need to demonstrate a strong track record in growing income, relationship management and timely delivery of projects. Teamwork and effective management skills are required.
We are looking for the following skills and competencies:
· Honours degree in STEM or an area related to SCI activity.
· Minimum of 15 years in a senior membership/customer or relationship management role.
- Presentable and credible, able to project SCI’s vision and mission at a senior level in partner organisations.
- Demonstrable experience of generating income and working to agreed financial targets.
- Energetic and able to engage proactively in the development and delivery of the strategy.

For an incumbent, the role provides a unique opportunity to build significant networks at senior levels across industry, academia, and government, as well as lead on developing new programmes for the charity. Maximise Giving
You will implement a philanthropic giving strategy that significantly shifts the museums approach towards the generation of substantial philanthropic income and that supports the Museum's vision and mission. You will work collaboratively with the Executive, Board of Trustees and senior leadership team to establish a long-term plan and supporting fundraising strategies that align and help the museum move forward with its objectives.
Cultivate and Steward Donors
You will actively cultivate and steward relationships with potential and existing donors, for major new, repeat and legacy gifts, significantly raising the profile of Beamish, generating excitement and a desire to support Beamish now and into the future across a range of projects. These will be supported by stewardship plans that foster mutual trust to secure ongoing support.
Reputation and Engagement
You will build the profile of the Museum through donor engagement. You will personally manage a portfolio of prospective donors, guiding them through the cultivation process, and ultimately securing new funding. You will work closely with the CEO building new networks, opening new doors and linking with communities in support of the museum's philanthropic goals and furthering its reputation and that of the sector.
Successful Philanthropy Team
You will ensure a high performing team is in place that supports Beamish’s Philanthropic strategy, imbuing a culture of innovation and enterprise across the museum. The team will ensure day to day delivery of the function, including to trusts and grants, provide excellent customer service, and produce timely data to support and measure the impact of all giving. The team will champion equality, diversity and sustainability and creating a strong culture of philanthropy throughout Beamish.
Essential Qualities, Experience and Knowledge
- Significant experience working at a senior level, building strong relationships with supporters who can give at a six/seven figure level.
- Demonstrable extensive networks, including trusts and foundations, corporate partners and high net worth individuals.

- An excellent communicator who can inspire staff, volunteers and colleagues in taking our philanthropic strategy forwards.

About the Role
Our team currently consists of 8 dedicated staff members and is led by our CEO, Anne Bishop. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new role for BAUS. Role Overview:
The purpose of the Executive Director roles within Depaul is to ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are delivered through a strategic, shared approach by the Trustee Board, Executive Team and wider workforce.
As the appointed candidate, you will manage the Finance and IT departments and provide strategic and operational management of financial and budgetary processes, ensuring sound, prudent, financial management in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, underpinned by relevant policies and procedures.
You will provide support for income generation, and other service activity, to secure financial sustainability.
You will also report to the CEO and manager a team of 10 people - currently 8 FTE in Finance and 2 FTE in IT, including 2 direct reports – Financial Controller and Head of IT & Systems.
As part of responsibilities, you be attend meetings of the Council of Trustees, the Trustees’ Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC) and the Depaul Housing Services Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a financial service to Depaul UK that meets regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure robust systems and processes for financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and corporate reports to Depaul International, owning an effective relationship with external auditors.
- Support and guide budget holders and senior managers in their financial management responsibilities and produce the annual budget and periodic reforecasting.
- Provide strategic oversight, and monitoring, of the corporate risk register reporting to the CEO and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
- Support ICT systems development ensuring that all ICT is strategically planned and fit for purpose, delivering cost savings and efficiency wherever possible.

What We Are Looking For – Person Specification:
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA), with post-qualification experience in senior financial management positions and a track record of producing financial strategy, planning, reporting, monitoring and budgeting.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulations, including Charity SORP and its application
- An excellent people manager, with demonstrable experience of leading and driving change programs
- Experience of working in a senior leadership/executive team

Our award winning fundraising division is currently looking for an Engagement and Stewardship Executive to join our Partnership and Philanthropy team in this newly created role for the charity.

The role sits within the newly created Operations Team ensuring Age UK's donor facing Partnerships and Philanthropy Team are provided with the highest quality donor research, engagement and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.
In this newly created position we require a collaborative individual who can support our Senior Operations Manager deliver our stewardship strategy focused on inspiring, thanking and retaining our major donors, corporate partners and grant funders by creating engaging communications and activities.
This role offers hybrid working between home and London (EC3N 2LB). Our fundraising division attend the London office once a week on Thursday's.

Additional Information
* This role is not a donor-facing role but sits within the newly created Partnerships and Philanthropy Operations team that provides the back-of-house systems, processes, content and support to enable donor-facing colleagues to operate efficiently and effectively.
* We ask all members of Age UK's Partnerships and Philanthropy department to work from our London hub near Tower Hill at least once a week to enable collaboration, skills development and team dynamics (currently Thursdays). From time to time, we may also require the successful candidate to come into our London hub for face-to-face meetings at other times in the week: as per the terms of our hybrid contracts we aim to give seven days' notice when this happens.
