London Community Foundation exist to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged people in London by working with donors to invest in small, local charities and community groups.

We are now seeking a Finance Director to play a pivotal role in shaping our future, strengthening our financial sustainability, supporting our governance, and enabling us to deliver greater impact for London’s communities.

The role

As Finance Director, you will sit at the heart of decision-making within a purpose-driven organisation, influencing strategy, supporting the Board, guiding investment decisions and ensuring that resources are directed where they matter most.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Board, and committees to ensure strong financial leadership, governance, and long-term sustainability.

You will:

· Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance across the organisation

· Provide clear, accessible financial insight to support decision-making at Board and executive level

· Oversee financial control, reporting, audit, and compliance (including SORP)

· Support stewardship of investments and endowment funds

· Lead risk, assurance, and governance processes, including engagement with the Finance, Risk & Resources Committee

· Act as Company Secretary, ensuring robust governance and regulatory compliance

· Oversee contracts, supply chain, and value-for-money across the organisation

· Provide strategic oversight of systems, data, and technology, including line management of the Technology Manager

· Lead and develop a high-performing finance team

This is a broad and influential role, combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, well-suited to someone who enjoys working across organisational boundaries and shaping how an organisation operates.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience operating at a senior level and advising Boards and executive teams.

You will bring:

· A track record of leading financial strategy, planning, and organisational performance

· Strong experience in governance, risk, and compliance within complex environments

· Confidence working with Boards, committees, and senior stakeholders

· The ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insight

· Experience leading teams and developing people

· An understanding of systems, data, and organisational infrastructure

Experience in grant-making, philanthropy, or endowment management is welcome, but not essential.

About the role

The focus of the role will be on digital campaigns and organising and promoting fundraising events to generate new income streams for the charity. These new income streams will allow us to move away from reliance on our core funding and enable us to diversify into areas necessary for us to aim for our strategic goal and reach more clients. 

This role will work closely with the Digital Communications Manager and Service Managers to develop, lead and achieve buy-in on all campaigns and events.

Other areas of the role will include identifying and submitting applications for prizes and awards, preparing funding proposals, helping to shape the fundraising strategic plan and reporting on the success of campaigns.

About you

We are looking for someone with significant experience in a fundraiser role who has proven knowledge and examples of running and evaluating digital fundraising campaigns. Knowledge of domestic abuse and sexual violence, the impact it has on victims and issues they face, would be an advantage.

Our ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence and persuade new and existing supporters of Staying Put. You will need to be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate will be able to problem solve in dynamic situations and have a creative approach to income generation.

Head of Major Gifts

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, the Head of Major Gifts will lead the high-value fundraising activity, personally managing a portfolio of key supporters while leading the Major Gifts team (two direct reports and one dotted-line report). Working closely with the CEO (an experienced and active fundraiser), you will oversee a robust and disciplined prospect pipeline across major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners, and you'll lead the management of the Development Board - an influential group of senior supporters and open doors to transformational philanthropy. The role will also shape and deliver inspiring donor engagement, from curated events and private tours to bespoke proposals, reports and stewardship communications, working in close partnership with senior leadership, clinicians and volunteers across the Trust.

To be successful, you will bring a demonstrable track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts (relationship-led fundraising), alongside strong influencing skills. You will be a collaborative, motivating manager, comfortable setting direction and driving a high-performance culture, and confident producing compelling written cases for support, proposals and donor reports. You'll be highly organised, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a target-driven, fast-paced environment. Experience of the healthcare sector or arts sector is advantageous but not essential.

Main Purpose Of The Job:

The Events and Community Fundraiserwill take responsibility for the planning and delivery of Homeless Oxfordshire’s events and third party events, and provide exceptional care to our community fundraisers. Main Areas Of Responsibility:

Events Planning And Delivery

· Oversee planning and delivery of our community and corporate events including the Golf Day, Race Across Oxfordshire, the Business Breakfast, HOxStock, and the Thank You event.

· Liaise with venues, suppliers and contractors to ensure all events are well planned and professionally run.

· Manage all event communications, from invitations, registration, to event day and follow up, ensuring an excellent support journey throughout.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manger on third party events, including Homeless Oxfordshire’s participation in the Oxford Half Marathon, the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride and other challenge events.

· Manage and plan event day activity at third party challenge events.

· Support community groups who are running their own “in aid of” events for Homeless Oxfordshire, providing materials and promotion and attending events where appropriate.

· Ensure timely communications and stewardship of all challenge event participants.

Community Fundraising

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager to research and identify community fundraising prospects, and deliver communications and approaches to engage schools, colleges, faith groups and other community organisations.

· Give talks to community groups (schools, faith groups, local organisations etc.) to encourage their support for the charity and represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community fundraising events.

· Support the Partnership Fundraising Manager to steward employee fundraising activities e.g. bake sales, Giftmas collections etc.

· Work with HR and the Community Fundraising Manager to recruit and manage Community Fundraising Volunteers who can give talks to community groups.

· Work with the Community Fundraising Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager to develop presentations and resources to enable volunteers to represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community events.

· Oversee the administration linked to community fundraisers, including updating the database with communications and monitoring and managing fundraising materials.

· Support community fundraisers to use and register on third party platforms e.g. JustGiving, Enthuse, providing encouragement and tips for securing sponsorship and funding.

· Ensure timely and professional communication and interaction with community supporters, and prompt thanking of fundraisers and donors.

· Take responsibility for responding to/redirecting all emails to the shared fundraising inbox.

· Undertake other relevant duties, supporting the Fundraising and Communications team as required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legacy & In Memory Officer to join our Fundraising team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in delivering legacy and/or in-memory campaigns and working in a fundraising environment.

The purpose of this role is to manage and grow the legacy fundraising and in-memory giving programmes. This will involve providing exceptional stewardship to supporters to build long-term engagement, managing legacy and in-memory campaigns to reach agreed objectives and building relationships with local solicitors and funeral directors alongside other stakeholders.

Working with the Public Fundraising Manager, the post holder will deliver a strategy to increase income, develop relationships and effectively deliver in-memory events and campaigns.

This role is far more than fundraising. It is an opportunity to play a meaningful part in a Christ-centred ministry that seeks to bring glory to God through the way we serve beneficiaries, supporters, volunteers and one another.

The role will involve writing about the charity’s firm Christian foundation and may include taking an active role in providing compassionate and consistent care to beneficiaries. You will take part in prayer times and may have opportunities to share personal testimony of experiencing Jesus’ love with beneficiaries and members of the local community. About the Role

The PR team is responsible for generating, sustaining and growing the charity’s income year after year by communicating the work, ministry and financial needs of Caring For Life to a wide range of audiences.

The Trust Fundraiser will focus primarily on securing funding from Trusts, Foundations and grant-making bodies, whilst also helping to nurture relationships with major donors and exploring opportunities for corporate support.

As part of the PR team, the successful candidate will also support wider PR activities during busy periods, including Open Days, Supporters’ Days, formal visits and practical tasks at peak times.

Organisational Structure

The PR team is line managed by the Executive Director, with additional support from the CEO regarding pastoral insight and communication with churches and other Christian groups.

Background Information

Caring For Life has an established and respected Trust fundraising programme, with longstanding relationships built over many years. Alongside carefully stewarding these relationships, the charity continually researches and develops new funding opportunities.

At the end of the financial year 2026, income from Trusts totalled circa £265,000

Main Duties

• Undertake induction and training relevant to the role.
• Maintain and develop the existing Trusts database.
• Ensure reports and funding applications are submitted accurately and on time.
• Keep clear records of applications, correspondence, grants received and acknowledgements sent.
• Research new Trusts and funding opportunities using online systems, publications and resources such as Invisible Grantmakers.
• Work with project leaders and senior managers to identify fundable projects and budget requirements.
• Attend budget meetings and assist staff in understanding funding allocations.
• Prepare compelling funding proposals, reports and covering letters.
• Liaise with the Design and Media team regarding photography and supporting materials.
• Maintain records and communication with major donors as requested by the Executive Committee.
• Support and grow corporate donor relationships.
• Conduct all duties in a professional and Christ-like manner that honours the Lord Jesus Christ and protects the reputation of Caring For Life.
• Undertake relevant in-house and external training as required.
