About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and organised Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to support our Public Fundraising team. In this varied role, you'll help deliver engaging fundraising campaigns, manage supporter journeys, and ensure our fundraising efforts run smoothly.

About You

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with proven administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to draft professional documents and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital collaboration tools and CRM systems is essential. You’ll also have good numeracy skills and experience maintaining financial records. A natural team player, you’ll be adaptable, able to prioritise a demanding workload, and remain calm under pressure — particularly during emergency fundraising appeals.

Key responsibilities:

· Assist in the coordination and delivery of public fundraising activities during emergency appeals, including managing content and materials, liaising with member agencies, and supporting with reporting and updates for senior stakeholders.

· Provide high-quality administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing Director and wider team, including diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and general team logistics.

· Help develop and deliver fundraising materials across direct marketing and digital channels, gather content, and ensure assets are approved and shared with key stakeholders.

· Maintain and update fundraising budgets, process invoices, and support post-appeal reviews with external suppliers and partners.

· Contribute to digital activities by supporting basic analytics, user journey testing, and content creation for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with opportunities to take part in digital innovation workshops.

Key tasks

Cross-Income Stream Support

• Support the delivery of activity and appeals across major donor, corporate, legacy, and individual giving programmes.
• Identify and research prospective funders, including trusts and corporate partners. Assist in bid development, including desk research, gathering case studies, and impact data.

Team Coordination & Administration

• Manage the inbox and respond to supporter enquiries.
• Provide administrative support to the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager and Head of Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising.

About the capital project

The Playhouse Capital Development project is progressing through RIBA stage 3 with a design freeze now implemented. Work will continue to bring together a final stage 3 report which will give clear costings and timeframes for the project, before submitting a formal planning application at the end of October 2025. We anticipate that following this we will seek final approval to progress to RIBA stage 4 and commit to a start date for mid 2027 and a schedule of works that will see the project completed before 2029.

About this role

This part time (average 3 days per week) fixed term role has been created to work cross organisation and to work collaboratively with a new-look Development team to secure additional funding to realise this transformational capital project.
The person will play a pivotal role in our capital fundraising campaign, delivering the fundraising strategy behind this transformative initiative. Working closely with the Assistant Director, Development & Partnerships, senior leadership, trustees, the development team and funders, the postholder will manage the key milestones towards a successful a capital campaign that will transform the theatre’s facilities and secure its long-term future. 

What we’re looking for

We’re looking to work with someone with proven fundraising experience, specifically in the charitable sector, and with the ability to secure funding from a wide variety of sources, and work collaboratively with a new Development team supporting shared targets

You should have experience of fundraising for capital projects and a strong understanding of the requirements of time sensitive capital projects for cultural or charitable purposes. You will have experience of planning and delivering major fundraising events for capital targets e.g. gala dinners and auctions.

About Sitopia Farm:

Sitopia Farm is a modern, urban farm located in Greenwich, SE London, dedicated to reconnecting people with the origins of their food and promoting a healthier, more equitable and sustainable food system. As a hub for community engagement, education, and regenerative, organic farming practices, Sitopia Farm is a space for cultivating not only crops but also ideas about a better future for food and farming.

We have been successful to date in raising money for our farm including through crowdfunding, grants and other sources, but are embarking on the next stage in our development: an ambitious project to raise £650,000 to build an eco-barn: a sustainable structure that will serve as the heart of our operations. This transformative project will significantly enhance our productivity as well as our ability to serve the community and promote sustainability.

This is a largely remote working job with occasional visits to Sitopia Farm, Greenwich, London.

Role Overview: 

Sitopia Farm is seeking a part-time freelance Fundraising Consultant to lead all aspects of fundraising, with a specific focus on securing the £650,000 needed for our eco-barn project. This is a critical role that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping us bring this vision to life. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in fundraising strategy, grant writing, major donor engagement, and ideally an understanding of capital campaigns. We have had a strong track record in securing smaller amounts of funding to date and have a strong network and potential opportunities that this role could capitalise on.   

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy principally to secure c. £650,000 for the eco-barn project and support and develop fundraising for other farm activities as required.
• Identify and pursue diverse funding streams, including grants, corporate sponsorships, major donors, as well as crowdfunding and events.

2. Grant Writing and Proposal Development

• Research and apply for grants from trusts, foundations, and public funding bodies.
• Write compelling funding proposals tailored to funders’ priorities and ensure timely submission.

3. Major Donor and Corporate Engagement

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
• Develop tailored donor engagement plans, including pitches and impact reports.

4. Campaigns and Events

• Plan and execute an innovative fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds for the eco-barn project.
• Work in partnership with external event advisers and in collaboration with the wider Sitopia Farm team to create successful fundraising events.
• Collaborate with the Sitopia Farm team to create engaging content and materials.

5. Project Management and Reporting

• Track and monitor fundraising progress against targets, providing regular updates to the team.
• Ensure compliance with funders’ requirements and support the Sitopia Farm team to deliver impact reports as needed.

Essential:

• Proven track record of leading successful fundraising initiatives, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Excellent skills in a range of fundraising techniques, in particular major donors, trusts and foundations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident in building relationships with donors, businesses, and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the UK fundraising landscape, fundraising regulation and code of practice.
• Strong organisational skills- capable of managing multiple income streams with strong attention to detail and great record-keeping and project management.

Our organisational income has grown consistently year on year since we registered in 2018. We are looking to recruit a dynamic Head of Fundraising to lead and deliver income generation as we scale our work in the UK and globally.

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working. We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Contract: Permanent. Part-time (3 days a week). Flexible hours/days possible.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 FTE + 5% eligible pension

• Draft fundraising targets and KPIs based on current income levels and our delivery plans for 2026;
• Lead and coordinate all CNK fundraising activity from Trusts and Foundations, corporates and individual supporters;
• Build relationships with major donors, corporates, charitable Trusts and Foundations and other institutional funders;
• Ensure all fundraising meets the Code of Fundraising Practice, safeguarding standards, GDPR compliant and CNK’s values; and
• Report quarterly on fundraising progress to Chief Executive and Board of Trustees

About the Role 

As Head of Individual Giving, you will lead a high-performing team of fundraising specialists across regular giving, cash, raffle, lottery, and legacy marketing.
