Job Title: Volunteer Co-ordinator – Sanctuary Citadel
Hours: 35 hours
Term: Fixed Term until 5th May 2027 with potential for extension beyond this dependent on funding.
Location: Home-based, with regular travel to Cardiff and Newport, and occasional full-team meetings in England.

The role of the Volunteer Co-ordinator is to lead the Sanctuary Citadel project in Cardiff and Newport. This will be at a key time for the project - adapting and expanding from an existing Citadel volunteer model to support Newly Granted Refugee’s transition from Home Office Accommodation or alternative accommodation into permanent homes.
Working with the Sanctuary Manager and a team of volunteers, you will ensure this support is upheld to a high standard. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks to facilitate this, including recruitment and training of volunteers. Maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure project coherence and impact, and promote awareness of the project and its impact within the community.

Sophie Hayes Foundation (SHF) is a small but mighty charity, empowering women survivors of
modern slavery and exploitation. It is an important time at SHF. Our new strategy ‘Sustainable
Freedom from Modern Slavery’ launched in 2024 and this role is essential for the delivery of the
strategy and ensuring that survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation have
access to the support and opportunities they need to achieve their aspirations, independence
and a positive future. With soaring numbers of referral to the NRM and thousands more victims
living in fear of a hostile environment, this has never been more important than now.
At the heart of Sophie Hayes Foundation’s work will be the support to and empowerment of
survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking and this role is critical to survivors’ journeys
to sustainable freedom.
Alongside a small, friendly and dedicated team, you will coordinate and deliver our
programmes for survivors of modern slavery, including our flagship Employability Programme
(EP) and our Conversational English for Independence (CEFI) course.
You will also work in close partnership of the development and delivery of new programmes for
survivors, embodying our strategic aim of ‘meeting survivors where they are and taking them to
where they want to be’. You will champion the voices of survivors through the work of the
organisation, working with colleagues in CREW to provide continued support to survivors’ long
term.
About the Role
- Deliver Sophie Hayes Foundations Employability Programme and Conversational English for Independence Course to survivors.
- Support development and growth of these and other future programmes.
- Take responsibility for all programme logistics and communications with partners, survivors, and suppliers.
- Accurate data input to and management of internal monitoring and finance systems, working closely with the Head of Programmes to analyse trends and contribute to reporting.
- Actively engage with local, regional, and national partners and anti-slavery networks
- To maintain effective survivor referral pathways and raise awareness of the Foundation’s work.
- Supervise and manage Employability Programme volunteers.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
Campaign Co-ordination
1. To lead and facilitate the Union’s campaigning portfolio.
2. Coordinate and develop the training, tools, and resources to support the officers with the planning and delivery of impactful campaigns.
3. Support officers to ensure their campaign objectives are effectively set delivered and align with the Union’s wider strategy.
4. Support other staff and departments in the Union to deliver on campaigns as instructed by your line manager
5. Work with the Union’s Communications and Events teams to develop a year-round strategy that promotes campaigns to students and external partners.
6. Support officers in capturing the student voice and turning it into effective, action-led campaigns.
Academic Representation Coordination
1. Lead on the recruitment of Academic Course Representatives and Senior Academic Representatives.
2. Oversee and develop the academic representation systems, procedures and databases ensuring that all records are accurate.
3. Develop, deliver and review a comprehensive training programme for Academic Course Reps and Senior Academic Representatives.
4. Oversee the academic representation feedback and communication channels.
5. Coordinate the Academic Course Rep and Senior Rep reward and recognition programme.
6. Create annual reports reviewing the performance and impact of the Student Rep system and identify areas for further development.
7. Plan and coordinate key rep-related events including Student Led Awards, Rep, Congress Meetings, and rep celebration events.

5. Provide support to your line manager in relation to the overall work of the department.

The Role
The objectives of the Communications and Campaigns team are to increase the public profiles of Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK, mobilise public support to bring about change and ensure that all colleagues are aware of, bought into and engaged in contributing to the values and direction of the charities.
A natural storyteller, you will have a talent for creating shortform video content that engages key audiences across our social media platforms. By generating ideas and making them happen, sourcing contributors, shooting and editing footage, you will monitor the performance of posts and proactively incorporate best practice to ensure that content is well received by audiences, and that the charities’ presence on its social media channels grows.
You will regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, the other founding charities and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.
Main duties include:
- Creating shortform video content

- Ensure that the charity showcases its advice, information, programmes and services through shortform content.
- Champion and promote the brands, including their tone of voice, in our creative content.

About You
A content creator and social media expert you will have experience of planning, shooting and editing footage to engage audiences across different social media platforms and of using creative design software (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premiere Pro - essential). With an eye for detail, you will use your project management skills to analyse the performance of social media content, refining and improving content through iteration.
You will also have experience of:
- Writing and editing copy to suit different audiences and providing updates and briefings at meetings.

Clinical Services Coordinator (Mental Health Talking Therapies) - Maternity Cover Contract
Evolve Counselling is looking for an efficient, qualified and experienced mental health counselling manager, to take charge of our service while the postholder takes maternity leave in January 2026.
