The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a reliable, conscientious and self-motivated individual to join the Inspire Management Information (MI) team as an MI Data Systems Manager.

Inspire provides a full MI service to the nine local authorities that make up the London East sub-region and we work in close partnership with wider London local authorities, career companies and other national partners to support the needs of young people through the intelligent use of management information. We have a reputation for providing insightful and informative data analysis to meet local and national requirements, always ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and security.

Key responsibilities of the MI Data Systems Manager include:

• Supporting the Deputy Director and Senior Systems Manager to develop, implement and manage the MI service.
• Monitoring of data integrity and quality within the database.
• Preparing the submission of mandatory management information to the Department for Education within set deadlines and to national standards.
• Supporting a MI helpline to users of the system.
• Interrogation of the database to conduct analysis and create reports.
• Developing and delivering training in the use of the database.
• Managing a team member.
• Taking lead responsibility for the production, analysis and presentation of MI reports.
• Maintaining a high level of understanding of all national requirements relating to the service.
• Contributing to effective teamwork and information sharing

Why Access Social Care Exists

Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

What we do

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.

With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers and barristers ensure fair access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded, and we all get the support we need.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.

This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will work with people at all levels of the organisation supporting the People Director on strategy work streams as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled
• Work alongside the People Director to map or review processes across the employee lifecycle, identify blockers and seek to implement solutions that create efficiency and clarity 
• Advise on employee relations and discuss complex or sensitive cases with the People Director to decide the best course of action, ensuring that cases are resolved in a timely manner or be a trusted advisor to our managers with their people challenges
• Coordinate the delivery of projects, process and policy improvements as defined and prioritised within the People Plan, leading on workstreams as outlined by the People Director
• Support the People Director in sourcing training and learning solutions, and evaluating training
• Provide practical upskilling and training to managers and employees in HR practices and policy
• Coordinate recruitment efforts at Access Social Care, ensuring compliance with employment laws and providing guidance to managers. Manage the recruitment cycle and administration process from job ads to onboarding
• Support staff engagement activities across Access Social Care in conjunction with the People Director. These may include but are not limited to the following initiatives: staff survey coordination, and wellbeing events
• To be a super user and actively promote the use of the HRIS system (Bright HR) and ensure that electronic staffing records are updated and maintained accurately in accordance with GDPR
• Dealing with cyclical and ad-hoc data reporting and requests for information including data analysis
• Contribute to effective payroll administration ensuing information is shared with the Finance Officer in a timely manner, and collaborating with the People Director to address and rectify any issues and process improvements
• Work within the parameters of GDPR, ensuring data and information is protected and handled correctly
• Support the People Director as required in any duties which you could be reasonably expected to perform in line with this job description

 The Brent Centre for Young People is looking for an experienced, dynamic person to join its Clinical Administration Team.

The Brent Centre for Young People is a charity based in North West London (Kilburn) that provides psychotherapeutic treatments to young people aged 11-25 years, who suffer with emotional difficulties and have mental health needs. The Centre has an international reputation and delivers world-leading evidence-based practices to young people across North West London. On average, the centre helps over 700 young people per year through its In-house and Outreach Services.

We are looking for an experienced clinical administrator with strong people and communication skills to help run our clinical services.

This post is an exciting opportunity to be part both of supporting the growth of this new service and supporting clinical administration at the Brent Centre within an existing small team.

The suitable candidate will have at least two years’ experience of clinical and/or general administration and reception duties. This post will suit a confident, reliable individual with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

You will be expected to be confident in IT skills (including the use of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level) and apply them to recording data accurately on a daily basis on our client database.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates a high level of professionalism, can work to regular deadlines, can problem solve when faced with difficult situations, adheres to confidentiality and can communicate professionally, politely and effectively with young patients, their families, our clinical and non-clinical staff team and our external contacts, such as GPs.

The post requires sensitivity to the needs of young people with emotional difficulties and the nature of therapeutic work and their families. Experience with young people or with mental health is advantageous.

You will be expected to work a range of shifts between 9.30am to 6pm, 10.30am to 7pm and 11.30am to 8pm, to be agreed.

The candidate will have excellent skills, when carrying out duties of the post.

Training and Education Lead

Position: Training and Education Lead: Parental Cover (8 months)

Location: London/Hybrid

About the role:

This role is for an events person who can support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. There will also be additional in-house training to be secured for the remainder of 2024 and the first part of 2025.

The role holder will work within our professional development team, headed up by the director of professional development. They will report directly to the director and work alongside other team members to deliver an effective apprenticeship programme.

Our working pattern is hybrid, with attendance in the office expected for three days per week, including every Wednesday. You may also be expected to attend events across the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the agreed requirements and budget, liaising with the DPD as required.
• Organise and attend volunteer Working Party meetings as required.
• Working with the volunteers, external suppliers and DPD, ensure all requirements are clearly defined, appropriate and in place for the course to be delivered.
• Liaise with suppliers and contributors to deliver and sign off the online activity.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need experience managing events (face to face and hybrid) including liaising with speakers and managing the technology. You will be able to work with colleagues to identify and contact potential speakers. You will also be able to manage the budget for the course delivery. To be successful at the organisation, you will need to be able to work in a small team, be flexible in accommodating changing priorities and thrive in an ever-changing environment.

You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

• A qualification or experience in event management including online and bespoke courses.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent oral and written English.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills including record-keeping and attention to detail.
• Excellent Customer Service skills.

• Basic financial awareness and understanding for example working to a budget and controlling costs.

• Young Professional Industry Engagement event programme - To plan, organise and deliver the annual three-week programme of CPD visits for a selected group of participants to industry hosts across the UK. Working with participants and over 20 organisations to schedule and deliver the programme.
• Furniture Making T-Level conference – Working with the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and selected members to plan, organise and implement a one-day conference on the practicalities of overing the Furniture T-Level in an educational setting.
• Organise and attend several regional career fairs and trade shows to promote the education and training initiatives and encourage young people to consider a career in furniture and furnishings.
• Plan and organise the content of an Education and Training slot at the annual Furniture Makers’ HR Conference to highlight key events and programmes.

Grants

• Administer a small annual grants scheme supporting colleges and universities which provide specialist furniture and furnishing education courses.

• Administer the jobs board featured on the My Furniture Career website, screening and approving posted vacancies as well as liaising with those posting jobs to confirm the status of the vacancy, sharing data once the vacancy expires and collecting feedback data from the poster.
• To work with the Digital Officer to agree a schedule of content for the website and its associated social media.
• Work with the Communications Manager and Digital Officer to promote the use of the website by the targeted audience group as well as the HR community to post vacancies to the jobs board.
• Produce a quarterly report detailing the usage and any highlights regarding the website.
• Report any technical issues to the website provider and liaise with them to fix the issue.

Reporting

Head of Wellbeing and Grants – The Solicitors’ Charity

We’re looking for a Head of Wellbeing and Grants to provide collaborative leadership to the Wellbeing and Grants Team and its operations, which are the centre of the Charity’s core charitable activities. As well as running a personal caseload, you’ll work with the team to develop a systematic approach/methodology to case management practice and review, rooted in case management best practice.

Salary c£56,500 to c£63,500 rising to c£57,500 to £64,500 after a 6-month probationary period. The point on these salary ranges at which you will be paid is dependent on your location.

Flexible working arrangements are possible, including homeworking with occasional attendance in person at meetings, largely in central London. Most staff work from home, though we also have an office in southwest London (SW12).

The Head of Wellbeing and Grants role

We have recently agreed our strategy for 2024-2026 and one of the focus areas will be, with the CEO and others, to ensure the successful implementation of the 3-year Strategy, focussing on the Wellbeing and Grants aspects of the strategic aims.

As holder of this senior role, you will lead in collaboratively designing and implementing a consistent methodology for, and systematic approach to, new and existing clients contacting the Charity. You’ll also ensure that the tools and technology used to do this are in place, used consistently and reviewed regularly. As well as management oversight of the Wellbeing and Grants Team, you will also hold a personal caseload and be expected to support Case Managers with particularly challenging cases.

We’re looking for someone with at least 10 years’ experience in casework practice in a client support or advice setting dealing with conversations with people with complex needs and sometimes in distress.  And with at least 3-5 years’ experience in leading/managing a client support function like casework or grants/awards team.

Other key demonstrable skills and experience include having completed other relevant qualifications/training and courses in the sphere of advice and support work e.g. counselling, case management practice, therapeutic approaches et al.

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer with at least two years of relevant experience, who will be able to contribute to our new VCS Capacity Building contract.

Having a good level of experience in producing and designing communications content, excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content, excellent attention to detail and a strong track record in developing communications which stand out and increase both engagement and awareness.

Someone who enjoys working with the local community and able to use their communication and engagement skills to ensure we are reaching all parts of the VCS community within the Borough of Haringey. Having knowledge of the VCS within Haringey would be an advantage, but not essential.

You’ll have strong digital skills, including Adobe Creative Cloud (or at least InDesign), website CMS, social media and Microsoft O365, with an interest in learning and developing your skills on the job.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The contract, which runs from May 2024 to April 2027 can be extended for a further four years at the discretion of the Client. The Contract includes the administration and management of the Volunteer Centre and the development and promotion of a Navigation Network (NavNet) knowledge sharing platform, META Workplace.

The Community Collaborative team will be located across different sectors of the Borough employed by either MIND in Haringey or Public Voice who make up the consortium partners. Day-to-day management of the Community Collaborative service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

The service facilitates peer support and delivery of monthly workshops and drop- ins. The service will provide first-class, person-centred information, advice and guidance to people with learning disabilities through both one-to-one and group support.

The Role:

You will provide relevant and accurate information, support, guidance and signposting including both one-to-one and group support for people with complex issues. Support will be flexibly based operating out of a central Bromley office but delivered at various venues across the borough. You will act in a key working capacity where necessary, ensuring services are joined up and holistic, provide advocacy and attend case management meetings as required.

Please note this is a part-time role 3 days/or 21 hours per week (Fridays must be worked but the other 2 days per week are flexible). The role is initially for an 18 months fixed term contract.

As a key member of our Services and Support team, you’ll be working with MS Society volunteer groups that provide transport services to their members and/or own property. You’ll also be supporting members of the Customer Services team to help them fulfill their health and safety responsibilities within each of the MS Society’s offices. This role includes travel across the UK to provide support and/ or training as required.

You’ll be working with our external auditors to manage the audit process, monitor and record compliance with the ‘MS Society Health and Safety risk management framework’ on property and transport and ensure materials in the framework are consistently and effectively used.

We’re looking for the successful candidate to have:

• A NEBOSH National General Certificate
• Trained Display Screen Assessment Assessor
• Be a Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
• Experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems that cover risk areas associated with a volunteer group network.
• Experience of working with volunteers.
• An in-depth up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices, particularly as these relate to the voluntary sector.
• Experience of transport for people of all abilities run by the voluntary sector with a working knowledge of the related legislation.
• A working knowledge of the management of properties run by the voluntary sector.
• A working knowledge of DSE requirements and how to assess and apply them in a practical way.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures.

The Veterinary department is a friendly team of nurses, surgeons and administrative staff working in the London office. In the first instance, this will be achieved through joint project management and rollout of a new Federation wide SharePoint eco system. This is an exciting time to deliver a new ecosystem that will lay the foundation for future enhancement and uses of technology across all aspects of the Federation (Educational and Corporate).

You will then begin to identify the best uses of digital technology to promote learning, by engaging with latest research and by working across our academies in consultation with teachers and Principals. Through your leadership and networking within the Federation you will ensure the best approaches to improving educational outcomes are strategised, implemented, evaluated and are widely disseminated. Your work will involve the development of a Federation-wide Digital Learning strategy, building coalitions to implement and test this and then to disseminate the work. • Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.
