We are thrilled to welcome a Fundraiser Trainer & Advisor to support our Fundraising and Marketing Team at a pivotal time for our charity.
After a challenging period of inactivity due to the impacts of Covid, we are excited to embark on a new chapter, as we are ready to restart our activities in 2025 and to develop our projects and create a positive impact in our community.
This is a unique opportunity for those eager to be part of a project evolving from its early stages to the launch of new initiatives. The volunteer will have ample opportunity to grow with the charity.
We are looking for a passionate and articulate Fundraiser with extensive experience in fundraising strategy and bidding writing skills.
What this position entails
This role is designed for someone eager to share their fundraising knowledge by coaching our team to enhance their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the fundraising landscape.
We work with a dedicated team of volunteers, from our operational staff to those actively participating in our events, all of whom are enthusiastic about supporting our initiatives while gaining valuable experience and connecting with new people. Our Fundraising Trainer will provide valuable training to our fundraising and marketing team, focusing on enhancing their fundraising abilities, helping them to develop innovative strategies, and assisting with bid revisions by offering them constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
We seek a mentor rather than someone to handle fundraising tasks for the team; we want a guide who can empower others to learn from their expertise.
Therefore, the ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to train individuals in the art of fundraising with creativity and kindness.
The key focus of the role is:
- Train and guide the fundraising and marketing team, acting as a mentor.
- Revise bids and give insightful suggestions for improvement.
Essential:
- Highly experienced in Fundraising and with excellent communication skills.
- Able to produce training in Fundraising skills and deliver it to the team.
- Able to dedicate time to weekly catch-ups with the team and review actions, offering insightful tips for improvement.
- Able to give constructive feedback on bid applications.
We might consider multiple volunteers for this position if we get applications from fundraisers with specialised skills in different areas of fundraising.

CAT FOSTERER
RSPCA OXFORDSHIRE
We’re looking for cat-loving volunteers to play a vital role in helping us improve the wellbeing of the cats in our care whilst they wait to be rehomed. Can you help them by providing a calm and caring home whilst we find their purrfect forever home?
Overview of the opportunity
As a cat fosterer, you would be supporting the RSPCA in providing our cats with the safety of your home whilst tending to their welfare needs such as feeding and grooming. In addition to this, by providing a temporary loving environment, you will play a crucial role in a cat’s wellbeing and socialisation, which will significantly improve their chances of successful rehoming.
Once everything is in place, the animal centre will guide you through the fostering process and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment, food, and veterinary care for your fostered cat. The RSPCA is also happy to reimburse any other pre-agreed expenses that you may incur through volunteering for us.
Whilst our cats are in your foster care, you will:
· Provide them with care, suitable housing, and a safe environment as per our policies and guidelines.
· Feed, water, and groom them in line with our advice.
· Transport them to any veterinary appointments if required.
· Provide them with your time and patience.
· Help us spread the word about the cats in your care so they might find their forever home quicker.
· Playing and cuddles are also a must!
What we are looking for in a volunteer Cat Fosterer
· Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience caring for cats.
· Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
· For their wellbeing, our cats need to be kept in a separate room, so the whole family should be on board.
· Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be so, please let us know if this is the case).

Professionals Aid Guild (PAG) is seeking a new committee member to join a well-established charity on their Case Committee to assist in assessing applications and awarding grants. A background in social welfare would be desirable.
The successful candidate will;
- Attend committee meetings either in person or electronically.
- Assist in assessing applications and advising on awards.
- Determining what awards should be made.
- Be aware of UK social welfare system and use knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to group discussion.

Ms C was made redundant. She was then self-employed but has been unable to work due to ill health. Her daughter was struggling mentally and emotionally with conventional schooling, so she home schooled her. Home-schooling has dramatically improved her daughter’s wellbeing. She is passionate about learning, but a lack of study materials had hindered her. PAG assisted with children’s education grants and a one-off grant towards general living expenses.
Mrs C wrote “I was completely brought to tears. It has been very difficult for us these past couple of years and seeing your gift lifted a weight off our shoulders. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation. This could not have come at a better time. My daughter can now focus on her studies without worrying about the cost of it all. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We have been truly blessed and are forever grateful.”.
Ms D is a single mother of a son at university. She left her family home due to domestic violence. She is a teacher but had been made redundant due to the recent pandemic. She became bankrupt and was struggling financially. She and her son suffer from long Covid and are currently unable to work. The funds helped her with a one-off grant.
Ms D wrote “It was such fantastic news to receive my award letter and I am so very grateful to you all. These gifts will make a huge difference to how things are financially and it’s such a relief to know I can stop panicking in the short term and know things are going to be alright.

About us
Penificent is a business seeking to address issues faced by young people and to provide a positive influence through comics and workshops. Our books contain thought-provoking discussion questions directly related to the topic of the book, e.g. mental health, Knife crime etc. The books also have activities for young people to go through during a workshop or at home with their parents,keyworker,appropriate adult. These activities range from colouring to creating your own story that tackles a young person’s choice. Through user feedback, we have learnt that our comic story structure with the questions and activities promote more profound thought in young people than the average workbook or mainstream comic book. We currently run workshops in schools with our comics either in person (before Covid-19) or via zoom due to the pandemic. Citizens Advice West Sussex (CAWS) works as part of the national network as an independent, local charity, and company limited by guarantee. The charity has annual income of circa £2.6 million and employs around 70 staff supported by 250 volunteers, working from six locations across the County.
Background to the roles
Our board currently comprises eight trustees who have served between two and eight years. The previous chair had been in-post for two years but has had to step back for personal reasons while remaining a trustee. Meanwhile, another trustee, Mike Jones, has taken on the interim Chair role.
Our Finance Trustee will have served six years in 2025 and would like to retire once a successor is in place and there has been time for handover.
Main Responsibilities
The role of the Finance Trustee is to oversee, approve and present budgets, accounts and financial statements as well as the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the board. in addition, ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place and liaise with the CEO and her senior team about financial matters.
Person Specification
- A recognised financial qualification or equivalent knowledge gained by experience
- The ability to take a strategic approach to financial planning and oversight and to help non-financial colleagues understand these
- Previous experience of charity finances and fundraising or a willingness and ability to gain this through training
