We are looking for an experienced and passionate direct marketing professional, or someone with relevant transferable skills, to join us as our new Direct Marketing Fundraiser. 

This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team with significant growth across multiple income streams, including individual giving. This role will be integral to developing our individual giving programme to support the growth and sustainability of our income, whilst also driving supporter engagement. You will be responsible for the hospice’s direct mail campaigns and maintaining and developing strong relationships with donors to maximise income generation. You will be involved in a range of individual giving activities including regular giving, appeals and lottery.

You will have excellent communication skills, being able to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and supporters and will work closely with our Communications and Marketing team. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, strong organisational abilities and a track record of delivering projects on time.

Based at our state-of-the-art children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, this role is a brilliant opportunity for someone to add value to a growing fundraising team. Key Responsibilities:

• Increase engagement and maximise income from events
• Support with the development and delivery of events, activities and campaigns
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with eventers
• Support the analysis of donor data to guide decision making
• Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to deliver marketing activity

We are looking for a passionate and driven Head of Fundraising to help us take our fundraising to the next level.

The impact you will have

Leading Connection Support’s fundraising activities, you will generate income from existing sources and new income streams, and inspire funders, donors and local companies to support our work. Providing strategic direction combined with a hands-on role, you will lead on funding applications, plan and deliver campaigns and events, and develop lasting relationships with our supporters.

This is an exciting time to join Connection Support as we celebrate our 30th anniversary and turn our focus to preventing homelessness long before it happens, as well as continuing to provide support for those in crisis. You will be joining a supportive and friendly team and will work closely with colleagues from across the organisation to deliver fundraising activities and raise the profile of Connection Support.

Contract: Permanent, Hybrid working

Hours: Between 30 – 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £42,322 - £44,558 per annum (pro rata for part- time)

About you

You will have significant fundraising experience, including trust and foundation fundraising. In addition, you will have experience of at least one charitable income stream, i.e. cooperate, public, major donor or legacy, and a successful track record of delivering results.

Your experience should also include designing and managing fundraising campaigns and monitoring and analysing fundraising performance.

You will be passionate about solving homelessness and mental ill-health and share the values of Connection Support.

• Advanced knowledge of, and significant experience with, Salesforce development in a professional context

• Experience around ensuring compliance with GDPR and cybersecurity frameworks

• PowerBI or similar visualisation tools

This role will lead the delivery of the Trase communication strategy over the next 5 year strategic period.

Working as part of the Impact team within Trase, alongside those engaging directly with companies, governments and financial institutions, you will lead a small team to deliver strategic communications - press, media, content production, events, social media, promotion and publicity, including outreach to multipliers and amplifiers. 

You will drive communications to support the engagement work of the Trase team, making tactical choices to best deliver the overall mission of the initiative.

Our communications work is purposeful, targeted and and evaluated for its contribution to our strategic aims - rather than Opportunity To See numbers or the number of pieces placed.

You will bring your experience of developing communications strategies on global issues working with multiple partners to find and tell the story of Trase, what we can learn from the data, and what this means for the world.

You will be part of a leading, multinational, multidisciplinary, and multilingual team of experts, working across the Trase initiative to help ensure the delivery of this exciting program of work is effective, manageable and fun. • Track record of working with complex or technical information and making it accessible to a variety of audiences.
• Track record of working on global issues with multiple partners.
• Experience of building relationships with journalists, and partnering with other organisations to leverage impact.
• Experience working with people from different backgrounds and cultures, ideally in a geographically dispersed organisation.
• Management experience (line management, volunteer management, or freelance service providers).
• Fluency in English.

Desired skills and experience:

• Experience communicating messages that represent minority or underrepresented groups.
• Language skills in one or more of the Trase core languages: Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia, French, Mandarin Chinese.
• Experience of working in organisations with a multi-project portfolio, and working with partner organisations.
