This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Events Officer responsible for devising, delivering, and growing a high-impact events programme that drives income and enhances brand awareness, overseeing event logistics, managing risk, digital fundraising initiatives, and working with internal and external stakeholders to maximise engagement and return on investment. 

The Senior Events Officer will lead a dynamic and high-profile events programme, through a strategic and considered approach. This includes sports and challenge events, special events with high profile attendees (such as HRH engagements and major donor functions), and strategic event partnerships.

The ADSHG is a well-established UK charity supporting people with Addison’s and adrenal insufficiency through its website, social media reach and member services.   Addison’s disease is a form of adrenal insufficiency and is a rare endocrine condition affecting 1:10,000, and both genders. Whilst treatable with time-critical daily medication, individuals with adrenal insufficiency are at risk of potentially life-threatening adrenal crisis, which occurs when physical or emotional triggers mean that prescribed medication no longer meets the body’s need for cortisol.  Adrenal crisis is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated in a short period of time.  Addison's and adrenal insufficiency are not widely understood, even within the medical community.     

Social Media

Our social media reach has grown steadily over the years, and, thanks to thoughtful content promoting audience engagement, it currently stands at a reach of over 31,000 across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X and with a growing reach on BlueSky.   Our audience consists of our members and non-members with a diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency, their carers and supporters, and healthcare professionals.

We use Loomly to help organise and schedule our posts, aiming to post at least 3 times a week.  Our community respond particularly well to both educational and emotive topics, but we aim to keep a good diversity between the focus of posts, and will include fundraising, news, updates, shop alerts, educational articles, member information etc. 

Our social media links our community back to our website for more information as well as signposting out to other organisations as appropriate.

Spotlight on Corruption is a small team with outsized impact that shines a light on the UK’s role in corruption at home and abroad.

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and talented individual to lead our strategic engagement with Westminster and external stakeholders. You will be an energetic and creative individual with a flair for building common ground, making connections as well as identifying and maximising political opportunities. This role will work across our two thematic areas of ending impunity for corruption and defending democracy, liaising closely with the policy leads for those areas. You will be Spotlight’s organisational lead on developing our networks in Parliament, maintaining our relationships with Coalitions, and creating opportunities to get Spotlight messages across to policy and decision makers.

The Philanthropy team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing donations from individual major donors, grant-making trusts and foundations. The role of Philanthropy Officer is key to the success of the Philanthropy team, working closely with other team members and stakeholders across ARUK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Relationship building and income generation

· Build relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective major donors and charitable trusts, gauging their level of interest in our work, providing them with opportunities to engage with ARUK, and encouraging them to invest in our research.

· Develop an engagement plan for each relationship, taking full ownership and moving each donor / trust forward through qualification, solicitation and stewardship.

· Fundraise for different aspects of ARUK’s work, including key research initiatives such as the Drug Discovery Alliance.

· Think ambitiously and creatively in producing compelling and persuasive written communications for donors, including letters, proposals, applications and progress reports.

· Solicit donors for gifts at face-to-face meetings, where appropriate.

· Provide an exceptional level of stewardship to donors, ensuring they are thanked and updated and that their relationship with ARUK grows in depth and value.

· Think innovatively and support the team’s goal to embed the use of digital in our work.

· Work with senior volunteers and senior staff, where appropriate, empowering them to open their networks and ask for support.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues in the Science Communications, Media and Engagement, Research and Finance teams.

CRM

· Ensure donor records are kept up-to-date through daily use of Salesforce.

· Use Salesforce to track income and activity, and as a planning tool.

Events

· Support the Donor Relations Manager in planning bespoke events / lab tours for our supporters, by providing guest lists, communicating with invitees and updating Salesforce records.

· Represent ARUK at Philanthropy team events, and at other ARUK events where major donors or the representatives of charitable trusts may be attending.

 

What we are looking for:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About the Role

As Young People Support Worker you will be working alongside support team to provide accommodation and support services for young people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
