General Statement of Duties
The St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital has a loyal donor base, and we are now able to grow the major donor portfolio significantly to build our long-term sustainable income. The Grants & Partnerships Officer will lead on delivering a best-practice grant-giving programme as part of a wider major donor programme.
Alongside the Executive Head of the UK Office, the Grants & Partnerships Officer will develop new major donors prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies as part of a wider fundraising strategy.
This is a key role within a small and dedicated team. The successful candidate will have a professional, ambitious, solutions-based approach with a track record of fundraising success. They will be ready for and excited by the challenge of building up a major donor programme.
Main Responsibilities
To deliver a successful grant-giving programme and devise and deliver new prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to meet agreed targets, including:
· Establishing and managing strong relationships with past, current and prospective grant-giving organisations, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.
· Understanding all prospective and current donor profiles, and their motivations and communication styles. Formulating personalised cultivation and stewardship plans.
· Set up and maintain regular communications with all grant-giving donors and prospects, tailoring this as required to strengthen their relationship with us.
· Support and facilitate the Trustees and Senior Leadership Team in developing relationships with grant-giving bodies and prospects, and in how to manage these relationships to facilitate donations.
· Use creativity and adaptive thinking to develop a new and exciting programme of cultivation and stewardship events, visits, and activities to engage prospects and donors in our work and to support these key relationships. Work with internal teams and senior volunteers to deliver events and activities to the highest standard.
· Developing and refining the internal systems needed to run a smooth and efficient grant-giving programme such as data management, internal communications, and reporting.
· Know and understand the longer-term financial strategy of the organisation and work with the Finance Director and Executive Head of UK Office to ensure the appropriate identification of funding needs.
· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office and other colleagues as required to develop compelling cases for support and funding packages that channel funds to where the need is greatest and that ensure our financial security.
· Work with the Executive Head of UK Office to manage the grant-getting budget to ensure the successful and cost-effective delivery of annual activities and understand and follow finance related procedures such as income forecasting, reporting and Gift Aid.
· Support and deputise for the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising), as required, to establish and manage strong relationships with past, current, and prospective community donors and partners, delivering the highest possible levels of care and attention.
· Provide project support as required to the Fundraising Officer (Community Fundraising) to ensure the successful implementation of community engagement and fundraising programmes.
Person Specification
Essential:
· Educated to degree level or equivalent career experience.
· Minimum of 3-years’ fundraising experience with a demonstrable track record of developing stakeholder and donor relationships with a responsibility for securing a minimum of six-figure gifts from grant-making bodies.
· Experience of working with high-value Trusts & Foundations.
· An exceptional and eloquent communicator, both written and verbal communications skills, and a natural relationship builder, you will have solid experience of presenting, negotiating, networking, and influencing.
· Experience of working to and commitment to achieving financial targets.
· Understanding of the principles and best practice of fundraising including Data Protection, ideally within humanitarian and/or international organisations.
·A self-starter with initiative, confidence, exacting standards, drive, and flexibility.
· Highly proficient with Microsoft Office systems.
· Ability to work outside of contracted hours, as required.
· Ability to travel overseas, as required, and represent SJEHG at events and functions.
Desirable:
· Experience of raising funds within the humanitarian and/or international organisations.
· Experience of working with a CRM system to export and manipulate complex data sets, segment audiences effectively and develop a CRM strategy for donor engagement and reporting. Ideally, Raiser’s Edge.
· Demonstrable experience of working on strategies and innovation behind the areas of fundraising you have worked in.
· Experience of effectively engaging and supporting board members in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.

Reporting to: Area Manager
Location of work: Flexible. This post holder will be based at home but daily travel to schools or other establishments within your allocated local area will be required including some early morning breakfast visits. The role will require irregular travel throughout the UK with minimal overnight stays. A full driver’s licence and use of a vehicle is required.
Contract type: 4 days / 28 hours per week term time only, although flexible hours may be considered. This role will involve early morning breakfast visits to schools or other establishments which you will need to be able to attend. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

BACKGROUND
Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons. Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.

JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Service Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of our breakfast provision. As Engagement Partner, you will work with relevant partners (schools, local authorities, parents, parent councils) to ensure that breakfast provision is optimized, encouraging reach and providing education on relevant topics.

IFST is hiring – we are the leading professional body for food professionals and are looking for a Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager to push forward our work to promote food science and technology for the benefit, safety, and health of everyone.
As our Registration, Accreditation and Membership Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the membership lifecycle process. In addition, this role coordinates and actively manages the administration of applications and renewals for the Institute’s accreditation and professional registration assessments, working closely with our voluntary assessors and committees. These functions are managed using the Institute’s CRM system and integrated software.
You will coordinate and actively manage the flow of applications for IFST’s wide range of membership and other registration assessment processes, via our network of trained assessors. The role is also responsible for monitoring and reporting to ensure consistently high standards of assessment are maintained, and for the maintenance and integrity of our registers including CPD associated with our registers. You will efficiently manage the accreditation of training programmes and courses.
You will be a confident communicator with an eye for detail and knowledge of Professional Development and Recognition and/or CPD schemes. Ideally you will have Food Sector and/or University sector experience. As the lead role in our Membership team, you’ll line manage our Registration and Accreditation Officer and our Registration and Accreditation Administrator to provide an excellent service to our members. We are a small team, so a proactive and can-do attitude are just as important as your communication & organisational skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver membership communications through our website, email and social media

Key Fundraising Responsibilities
- Develop communications content that will invigorate our existing donors and inspire new ones leading to increased giving by individuals to IPWSO.

In your first three months, you will get to know the charity well and figure out who our current supporters are. You will devise a plan for how you will use your experience to raise money, with a focus on building our challenge and events portfolio. You will also start building good relationships with key people inside and outside
Little Hearts Matter, including networking within the Birmingham and West Midlands business community.
By the end of your first year, you will have put your plan into action, continually improving it as you go. Little Hearts Matter (LHM) is a national charity with over 7000 members. We are the only charity in the UK that offers support and information to, and represents the needs of, children and families following a diagnosis of single ventricle heart disease (half a working heart). These congenital cardiac conditions can never be cured, even following repeated surgery, so the children must learn to live within the restrictions that their disability and fears for their future create.
Little Hearts Matter is there from the time parents learn of their child’s condition, through risk-filled treatment into a challenged-filled life at home. LHM is there to support the children, and their families, through their hopes and aspirations and the gradual realisation that they will never have the same life as their peers. Our aims are to:

Specific areas of responsibility
Working as part of the fundraising team, the Fundraising Manager will:
- Be responsible for their own portfolio of supporters, maintaining and growing income, regularly forecasting income and expenditure against agreed targets (circa. £200,000+ annually)
- Proactively manage and grow relationships with diverse corporate and community supporters, delivering tailored propositions where appropriate, providing excellent relationship management to maximise their impact and long-term engagement.

The Meetings and Events Manager would lead on the delivery of the RSTMH meeting and events strategy.
