Oswestry Community Action, otherwise known as Qube, is a registered charity based in Oswestry, Shropshire.
Qube’s aim is to improve the quality of life for people in Oswestry, Shropshire and the Welsh borders, through the provision of Community Transport Services, a Volunteer Centre, Arts and Culture, Shop mobility and Care services.
The role:
The Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for the day to day marketing functions, with the aim of increasing the profile and understanding of the organisation within the town of Oswestry and wider communities of Shropshire and the Welsh borders, along with supporting the strategic development of this valued organisation.
Main Duties:
1. To be responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of the organisation’s Marketing plan.
2. Working alongside the Qube staff team develop and implement marketing plans with each department to ensure a consistent and professional approach to the marketing of the organisation.
3. Management of the organisation’s website, including ongoing development of the site, regular content updates and reporting of analytics to the officer’s line manager.
4. To be responsible for regular and relevant social media content on a wide variety of platforms, along with the monitoring of all sites and responding to queries and questions that are raised through the sites.
5. To develop and manage brand guidelines on behalf of the organisation and to ensure that all staff, trustees and volunteers adhere to the guidelines when representing the organisation.
6. To be responsible for the design, production and circulation of all printed materials on behalf of Qube.
7. Network and develop relationships with media outlets, providing press releases to them on a regular basis on the work of Qube.
8. To develop new ways of communicating the messages of Qube to potential customers, stakeholders, as well as to the general public.
9. Any other work as agreed with the Chief Officer or line manager.
Salary: Up to to £14,000 per annum for 22.5 hours per week.
Location: Oswestry, Shropshire. Hybrid working available.
Hours: Part-time 22.5 hours per week (ideally 3 days a week).
This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave until late April 2025.

HE Partnerships at Unifrog
After successfully launching the HE Partnerships arm of Unifrog in 2020, we now support 175+ global universities with raising brand awareness, inspiring the next generation, and developing a talented and diverse pipeline of prospective applicants. We also connect universities with teachers, advisors, and international school counselors through the Unifrog online community and in-person events.
What you’ll do
As HE Partnerships Manager, your role is to grow our university partner numbers and support our existing university partners to get the most out of their partnership with us. A fundamental element of our work with universities is to make sure they’re adding genuine value to our student and teacher community. Your key responsibilities will include:

Make sales to universities in the UK and around the world
You’ll set up and conduct meetings with university staff in which you’ll listen to their needs, communicate our mission to them, demonstrate our offering, and seek to secure the university’s ongoing subscription.

You’ll onboard new partners, conduct regular check-in calls, and consultatively support our partner universities to make the most of their partnership with us in line with their goals. It’s crucial that you maintain a sky-high resubscription rate.

Our Insights dashboard and reports use aggregated data from the Unifrog platform to uncover trends at subject and regional levels, and are designed to inform universities’ marketing, recruitment and portfolio planning. You’ll consult with partner universities to help them get the most out of their Insights dashboard, present reports to them, and identify potential upsell opportunities.

CGD Europe (CGDE), an independent think tank in London, United Kingdom, seeks a highly motivated, dynamic, experienced Finance Manager to join the finance team. You will have strong financial management skills with experience in supporting grant-funded activity; be a qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong understanding of charity accounting practices (i.e. SORP); and have excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, proactive, detail-oriented individual to enhance the finance function and make an impactful contribution to CGD Europe’s operations and mission in international development.
You will report to the Chief Finance, Planning, and Operations Officer (CFO) and work closely with CGD Europe’s Programme Teams and outsourced accounting team, with support from the HR and Finance Coordinator.
Responsibilities include:
Finance Function
- Work with the CFO, other senior management, and programme staff to develop annual organisational budget of over £7 million
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and effective financial management, ensuring that policies and processes are well-understood by the wider organisation
- Design, implement and manage processes to develop financial forecasts, monitor budgets and programme funds, and reconcile accounts
- Produce financial reports (inc. month-end, year-end, management accounts, budget versus actual, etc) for senior management and Board of Trustees
- Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Review and process expense claims and invoices, working with the HR and Finance Coordinator and CGD Europe’s outsourced accounting team to ensure all employees and suppliers are paid promptly and accurately, that customers are invoiced, debts chased on a timely basis
- Oversee the full functionality of applications and systems related to all financial processes, including Sage Intacct and SAP Concur
- Submission of annual P11Ds and other tax related returns to HMRC
Annual / Project Audits & Governance
- Coordinate project audits and the statutory audit process liaising with external auditors to ensure preparation, timely completion and submission of project and statutory accounts
- Assist CFO with audit(s)
- Assist the preparation of Board and Audit Committee papers
Finance Business Partnering
- Support the Programme and Institutional Advancement Teams with financial proposals, financial management and financial reporting relating to donor funds
- Establish and monitor systems and procedures to manage all contract and grant requirements
- Communicate matters relating to financial planning and operations, exchange ideas and best practice, develop excellent relationships with Programme Teams
- Ensure financial management information is presented in an accessible way and used as appropriate to monitor performance and to influence change alongside other data sources
- Work closely with Programme Teams to ensure proper allocation and utilisation of grant funds
- Develop financial reports on Sage Intacct to support Programme Teams in the financial management of their grants

- Support the wider operations team and perform other duties as assigned
- Line management – While the current position does not involve line management, this managerial role may present opportunities for line management and mentoring in the future. Such responsibilities would include supervision and mentoring, providing guidance and support to facilitate the professional development of direct report(s).
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIMA) in full or part
- Strong understanding of The Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
Skills & Experience
- Experience of working in the charitable sector in the UK
- Relevant experience in a similar finance role with good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Experience working with and integrating various financial systems and software programs: Sage Intacct (desirable), SAP Concur (desirable), and Salesforce (preferred)

Established in 1936 and one of Scotland’s leading wildlife bodies, the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club is a registered Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with some 3500 members. Its purpose is to advance the study and appreciation of birds in Scotland by promoting their documentation, promoting interest in them, promoting their conservation, providing a focus for information about them and encouraging the appreciation of relevant creative arts.
The Club’s headquarters, which also feature a renowned ornithology library, wildlife art gallery and sales outlet, are in Aberlady, East Lothian. Fifteen nationwide Branches are led by members who organise events, outings and projects in their areas. Staff contribute a national series of events, conferences and training activities for members of all ages. Publications include the highly regarded quarterly journal Scottish Birds, mobile app (Where to Watch Birds in Scotland), regional bird reports, e-newsletters and other online media.
The Club Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of running the Club, including its small team of staff, volunteers, an annual turnover of about £350,000 and assets which include built property (HQ). They will champion and drive forward the Club’s vision and goals. There will be emphasis on strong leadership to manage and support staff, volunteers and trustees; ensuring the highest standard of services to members; planning and reporting on the annual programme of Club-wide events and developing future priorities.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
- To provide strong leadership and management in relation to staff and the provision of all aspects of the Club's delivery of services and support to its members, in line with its status and responsibilities as a SCIO.
- To liaise and work closely with the SOC’s Council and committees in their work, regularly reporting to and advising Council and Management Committee.

MAIN WORK AREAS

- Ensure the legal requirements of the SCIO are met, including preparation and submission of an Annual Report and Statement of Accounts to the Scottish charity regulator (OSCR)
- Oversee the planning and organisation of the Club’s autumn annual conference and AGM, and the joint SOC/BTO spring conference.
- Work with SOC Secretary to support the Club’s volunteer-led Council and committees, including timely production of papers, reports and minutes, as required.
- Review and update as necessary staff support for Club Branches.
- Together with relevant committees, develop and monitor forward planning for the Club.
- Ensure implementation of all H&S, safeguarding and risk management responsibilities, in line with external and internal policy and Risk Register needs. Ensure regular review of policies, advising Management Committee and ensuring awareness of them wherever necessary among Council and Committee members, staff, contractors and volunteer leaders.
- Work with the Office Manager to ensure compliance with all necessary measures for the maintenance and management of Waterston House and its users.

The Journey and Cross Sell Manager is responsible for developing rich supporter journeys, primarily across email, that deepen the relationship between RNID and our incredible supporters.
As The Journey and Cross Sell Manager, you will:
- Build, design and deliver supporter journeys that engage audiences and encourage them to take actions, such as donating
- Work closely with colleagues in Marcomms and Fundraising to develop journeys tailored to donor types and audience segments
- Work closely with the Digital team to build journeys in Microsoft Dynamics
- Draft journey content plans and write journey content
- Maintain oversight of journeys and email across the charity, ensuring supporters receive communications that are timely, relevant and effective

We are looking for an exceptional Centre Manager to help us ensure that everyone who works in and visits our Centre is well looked after and has a fantastic experience.
The role is based at our beautiful Grade 2 listed building in Southwark. We will consider either a full-time application for a period of maternity cover, or a part-time job share of the role, with the potential to extend beyond the initial period of maternity cover. On application, please detail your availability (and preferences) for working between 16 and 40 hours per week at our Centre. Working patterns can be flexed for the right candidate(s). Remote working is not appropriate for this role.
Our Centre houses an amazing collection of 25,000 children’s books as well as being a training and event centre for teachers, publishers and everyone else who works with children’s literature and cares about children’s literacy.
This is an extremely interesting and varied job. In one week you could be doing any number of things from ensuring our teachers can access the right equipment for their training, to planning a book launch with our librarian, welcoming our trustees to a meeting, scoping and overseeing maintenance works around our building, or looking after a famous children’s author.

Reporting to our Director of Finance and Operations (DFO), our Centre Manager will:
- Ensure efficient processes and quality facilities are in place to support the daily operations of our staff, our visitors and other organisations that share our building
- Maintain the building to ensure that the Centre can function as a public space that looks great, and is secure and safe
- Be a welcoming and generous host for visitors to our Charity and for event hires at the Centre
- Support the DFO in maintaining HR systems and processes that adhere to best practice
- Ensure our staff have the tools available to do their best work by overseeing the outsourced IT support company and maintaining our IT systems and assets.
The person we are looking for will have:
- amazing organisational skills and the ability to work and manage others under pressure

- the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of the organisation

Usual hours are within 9am to 5pm but the post requires occasional out-of-office hours and flexible working in order to fulfil event commitments. The Centre Manager is the first point of contact for any building issues that occur out of hours, supported by our security and external keyholder companies.
A generous holiday allowance is provided - 30 days a year for a full time position (rising to 35 after 5 years service) plus Bank Holidays and closure between Christmas and New Year.

Where you’ll be working
OPT has its offices in historic premises at 10 Turn Again Lane, Oxford. You’ll be based here, although on some days you may be working at one of our other Oxford sites.
What you’ll achieve with us
You’ll be responsible for the management of OPT’s finances. Your work will enable the senior team and trustees to make informed strategic decisions and will support the OPT team in the smooth running of the day-to-day operation. You will make an essential contribution to the charity’s financial sustainability, enabling the growth of membership, investment and fundraised income.
What you’ll be doing as part of the team
1. You’ll be responsible for the efficient management of OPT’s financial accounts.
2. You’ll support the informed setting of budgets, providing longer-term financial forecasts as required.
3. You’ll provide regular finance reports, enabling the OPT team to monitor performance against budgets.
4. Using OPT’s Finance System (Sage 50) and CRM, you’ll process payments and invoices, VAT and Gift Aid claims, undertake the monthly payroll and bank reconciliation and ensure effective cash management.
5. You’ll liaise with our investment managers and invest any surplus funds on the money market in accordance with OPT guidelines.
6. You’ll work with OPT’s auditors to produce the annual accounts and contribute to the annual report.
7. You’ll ensure our records with the Charity Commission and Companies House are kept up to date and submit the annual return.
8. You’ll ensure that employees are registered with OPT’s pension providers.
9. As part of the OPT team, you’ll work closely with colleagues, creating and sustaining positive relationships and ensuring integrated working.

The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
The Responsibilities
Events Manager
o Line managing the assigned event coordinators, temporary staff or office volunteers.
o This will include annual appraisals and weekly 1-2-1’s
o Helping to recruit and line-manage casual workers
o Helping with day to day running and support of the team for the staff assigned to this role.
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event.
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers.
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management.
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and site logistics.
o Attending site visits (for external venues that might be used).
o Hiring of any additional equipment required for the event.
o Liaising with the Production, IT, Verger, Worship team and all other internal departments.
o Ensuring any legal and insurance tasks are thought about and in place for the event taking place.

o Liaising on interpretation needs are met including BSL.
o Liaising regarding speakers and associated tasks including contracts, gifts and accommodation.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The main responsibility of this role is to assist the Head of Resources in the efficient and smooth running of financial functional activities of the charity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
2. Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Resources and assisting in developing and maintaining all financial reporting within the charity.
3. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the charity’s annual income and expenditure budget.
4. Assisting in monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.
5. Dealing with finance related queries from staff, senior management, supporters, and suppliers.
6. Maintenance and reconciliation of direct debits, standing orders and other online donations.
7. Supporting the financial controller in the planning and preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit.
8. Ensuring accurate gift aid records are maintained for supporters and conducting the annual gift aid claim.
9. Assisting in the maintenance of all accounting records on an ongoing basis to ensure:.
a. All income and expenditure are properly approved, banked and processed in a timely manner.
b. Monthly cash/cheque management and bank reconciliations are carried out and recorded.
10. Undertaking any other accounting duties that may be required and providing cover when other staff are absent.
