The Role

As our Gifts in Wills Manager, reporting to the Head of Fundraising and working closely with colleagues from across the charity, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering all aspects of the legacy strategy, including pipeline development, supporter acquisition and stewardship. 

You will develop and use insights to enhance the supporter experience, build relationships with solicitors and Will writing companies to promote the charity’s legacy offer and embed a Gifts in Wills culture across all stakeholders to ensure growth plans within this important income stream are achieved.

Specifically, you will:

Supporter Experience

• Develop and, with the support of colleagues, deliver exceptional customer journeys and on-going stewardship for Gifts in Wills prospects, enquirers and pledgers including written and verbal communications.

Data and Insight

• Ensure relevant details, interactions and preferences for all prospects, enquirers and pledgers are recorded accurately on the charity’s CRM resource.
• Work with colleagues to monitor levels of affinity and engagement amongst prospects, enquirers and pledgers, using insights to improve the Gifts in Wills supporter experience.

Gifts in Wills Proposition

• Work with colleagues in the Marketing Team to develop a Gifts in Wills proposition and marketing plans to acquire new supporters and build the legacy pipeline.

Culture

• Champion Gifts in Wills across the charity, ensuring all colleagues and stakeholders are aware of the importance of legacies and are comfortable communicating with supporters about this way of giving.

Management and Legacy Administration

• Lead the Yorkshire Cancer Research Legacy Steering Group (marketing, administration, and fundraising) to review performance and develop operational plans to deliver the strategy.
• Work with the Legacy Administrator to monitor and progress legacy gift notifications, establishing working relationships with professional executors, next of kin and lay executors as required.

Based in our Philanthropy Team in Fundraising, the postholder works with our clinical, estates and governance teams creating compelling proposals to secure mostly restricted income. Rasing Funds:

· Ensure an inclusive, engaging and best-in-class experience for Trusts and grant makers

· Manage an annual rolling programme of applications and multi-year funding reporting requirements. 

· Deliver medium, large and complex bids for unrestricted and restricted income to ensure success to an income level of at least £150k to fund initiatives including for example: direct delivery of care, volunteering initiatives, new routes into work for protected groups, equipment and capital projects.

· Robust and regular research of funding opportunities, new trusts, and wider horizon scanning to identify a broad base of opportunity to refresh and renew the pipeline of prospective funders

· Steward existing trust donors, finding opportunities to cultivate and grow the relationship.

· Be a visible accessible presence across the hospice, encouraging colleagues to share and develop their own ideas to raise funds that you and/or trust and grant volunteers can take forward and or support the team generating the ideas to do so.

· Attend our Clinical Assets Meetings and restricted funding meetings

· Generate social media posts consistent with Hospice content standards and GDPR and hard and soft copy information to inform and promote the impact of supporters, this includes video/reel thankyou messages.

Communication

· Prepare and submit high-quality, tailored grant applications to secure funding for specific projects and core activities

· Maintain and develop relationships with existing trust and foundation donors

· Be the first point of contact for trust and grant funders and supporters and, for colleagues internally who have questions/queries or have an interest in this area of funding

· Manage a pipeline of prospective funders, ensuring timely follow-up and tracking of application statuses

· Help to create and deliver moments of stewardship that are personal to each funder, show the impact of their support and inspire them when they can, to have an on-going relationship with the charity.

· Be volunteer team leader recruiting volunteers to support your role, ensuing they are inducted and supported. As the wider team help ensure all volunteers feel supported when their respective team leader is away.

· Identify opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the Hospice to maximum benefit for the charity.

· Be an outstanding advocate for the Charity and represent the Charity at functions and events, in line with the values of the organisation, to promote the objectives of the Charity

Digital/Business Administration

· Provide routine and regular reporting on progress, advising on risk/mitigation to ensure the annual target is met

· Enter and update donor information on the CRM ensuring compliance with the GDPR and Data Protection Act.

· Ensure CRM (Donify) records and preference information is up to date and accurate at all times, including recording interactions with supporters

· Ensure all word documents are securely saved and accessible to colleagues on Sharepoint.

Hybrid for us means there will be opportunity for 2-3 days per week for home working, the rest of your working week could include office working in Kings Cross or attending SHP Services for coordination needs.

• Able to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring the smooth administration and logistics of volunteering activities.

If so, this is an exciting opportunity for you to take the next step in your career by joining the Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS) as our Housing Adviser.

BIAS’s housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex housing issues, including homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, housing or homelessness to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service, providing specialist advice on housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients, via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
• Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
• Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
• Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.  
• Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
• Staying up to date with developments in housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive change to housing policy, together with the Advice Manager.

These are the basic duties required of the Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based primarily in our advice offices in Willesden (Brent), with some outreach work in Haringey borough. There may be some options for flexible working (one day per week)

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in Haringey in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by bipolar, including carers and families. We're launching an exciting new lottery-funded project in Northern Ireland to expand our peer support network.

As Senior Volunteer Co-ordinator, you’ll play a central role in growing and supporting our network of local support groups. You’ll recruit, onboard and induct volunteer co-facilitators, ensuring a welcoming, inclusive experience. You’ll supervise and support volunteers, helping them develop skills and confidence to deliver safe, effective peer support—whether online or in-person.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the set-up and running of new support groups across Northern Ireland.
• Providing ongoing training and practical assistance to volunteers.
• Collaborating on the promotion of groups and services with internal teams and external partners.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and internal policies.
• Promoting Bipolar UK’s self-management courses and psychoeducation resources.
• Representing the charity within communities and building partnerships with local mental health services.

This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone with strong communication skills, experience supporting volunteers, and a passion for peer-led mental health support.

Salary: £28,000–£30,000 | Contract: 2-year fixed term (extension subject to funding)
